I enjoyed this a lot. To my nose, Sunnyside Up is very opaque… thick and heavy. I enjoy it, but sometimes the synthetic elements cause me to wince a tiny bit, and then comes a moment when it smell really beautiful. Milky Musc is one of my favorites but I have to spray liberally. The others sound wonderful.. Nothing but Sun and Sky…I’m very curious. I love notes of sandalwood…I’ll take it however it comes to me.
Hi Cherie - I have a travel size of Sunny Side Up, which I really struggle with. I keep revisiting it periodically hoping my opinion might change. I’ve got a sample of a Milky Musk floating around here somewhere I need to put my nose on. My preference in this category is Serge Lutens Santal Blanc which is like a cousin of these, but with iris and cinnamon; it’s transparent and easy-wearing for me. The new camera set up is really nice 👍🏻 I also really like this series - thank you!
It was helpful 😊. I also struggle with the synthetic nature of Sunny side up. It was a blind bought so no regrets. From your descriptions the most appealing to me are the Milky musk and Nothing but sea & sky. But those brands are not available in my country so thankfully, I won’t be damaging my poor wallet.
I tend to like this scent profile. I have Sunny Side Up, but find it a tad synthetic with poor longevity so would love to try some of the other fragrances you talked about in this video. Cheers, Cherie!
@TheTopNote Awe, you'll make this old chicken blush 😄 Thank you lovely! I'm having so much fun discovering brands and scent profiles. Genuinely, watching your content has helped me tremendously on my journey, so thank you for creating content that speaks to me and my newfound obsession! I'm officially a frag head. Yeah! 😍
I loved this video! How fun! I have many favorite woody fragrances. One that may be in a similar vein is Calling All Angels by April Aromatics. It is dry, sweet, woody with powdery incense notes. It is not at all lactonic or vanilla which is something that I struggle with. Love it! Thanks for the comparison review!
@@TheTopNote I still have to get my nose on some more V Canto. Though the perfumer is the same as Tiziana Terenzi, and I like his scents. Such a huge range with this umbrella of brands !
I almost blind-brought Nothing But Sea And Sky. I am so glad you came up with this video. Now that I know all the differences, the first one I want to sample is Milky Musk because I prefer something less sweet and woodier. I really appreciate you took your time testing and shared your thoughts about these fragrances that are sort of in the same family. Certainly helped me saving my time and money 😁.
Interesting! Sunny side up doesn’t work for me. But I do have a sample of Milky Musk and love it. I had no clue it was close to Nothing but sea and sky though, which is currently in transit to get here! 😅😂 Your wedding set is gorgeous! Which stone is it? A sapphire?
I wouldn’t say they smell the same but they are in the same ballpark. Similar effect I suppose. Nothing but sea & sky is lovely, a bit fresher with that musky, salty effect. Enjoy!
Now that is interesting that I did not pick that but I picked the Kashimire instead. Thanks I’m going to go have a spritz of Shunkoin now, maybe I can talk myself down off the ledge of wanting to get WoW! ❤️
VERY similar! Although I find Shunkoin to be more powdery and dry and the smell of vanilla is a lot more prominent. (Whereas Kashimire is very dry, powdery and woody but no/less vanilla) WoW is slightly creamier, with a hint more sweetness and more of a green bent. I think the sandalwood woodiness is more prominent in WoW than Shunkoin also. That’s a side by side comparison though, I think generally if just wearing one or the other Shunkoin and WoW could arguably be nterchangeable. I still feel that WoW is easier to wear but it also doesn’t seem to last as long - although I have a FB of Shunkoin that I can spritz more liberally than my sample of WoW so it might not be a fair comparison :)
@@TheTopNote Thanks for the reply! I think I'm going to go with WoW, even though it is more expensive than Shunkoin. It just smells incredible! I'm hoping Xerjoff will have a Valentine's day special with free shipping, like last year.
