That is exactly what the hold is used for. You can just pick a temperature and press hold and it will not follow the schedule. It will stay on that temperature in until you press run again.
Simple just go through each time setting once and choose that temp it it will stay there all the time. The other option is to choose that temp you want and press hold. It will stay there.
Does the “hold” button lock in the temp it’s at or the temp it’s set at? My thermostat is acting up, I have it set for 70 but it’s at 75. What temp will it lock in?
The way it works is if you change the temperature to something other than what set in the schedule and press hold it will keep the temperature until you press the run button again. So let’s say it is normally scheduled to be 70 and you change it to 68 and press hold it will stay on 68 until you press run again.
Thanks for this video! The instructions that came with it are brutal. Question: The instructions show 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th period. Does this mean you can set four different temps in a day? I want to be sure I'm understanding it correctly when programming it.
@CheekySEPH Hold simply means it will hold it at that temperature indefinitely. Are any of the buttons responsive when you try to raise or lower the temp? If not then it could be frozen like mine was. First I tried replacing the batteries in the thermostat (the model I have requires two AAA batteries). That still didn't work so I removed the batteries. After about four hours the thermostat went blank and it was totally drained of power. At that point I added the new batteries again and it was fine. The thermostat reset. I had to reprogram it for the time, date, etc. but that was easy. Mine must've built up some charge that somehow froze it. Draining it of power reset it. Hopefully this works for you. Thankfully I didn't have to replace it.
@CheekySEPH If your thermostat is responding but the AC isn't coming on then either your thermostat has lost connection with the AC or your AC isn't working. Reprogramming won't do anything to the best of my knowledge. In my case my thermostat was frozen. None of the buttons I touched were responsive. Yours sounds like it's working but the signal isn't getting to the AC from the thermostat or your AC has died. A loss of signal could be a partially dead thermostat or the actual connection to the AC (the wiring) or the AC itself. Hopefully others will chime in with ideas but you might need a professional to look at it and make the appropriate repairs if you're not comfortable with doing things like replacing the thermostat, rewiring, etc.
@CheekySEPH Hmmm, that sounds like the AC is failing. Thank goodness you have the separate cooling for the garage. I know when my thermostat froze it was early spring so still pretty cold. I think my house got down to 55. Thank goodness it wasn't full blown winter and thank goodness mine was an easy fix although I'm thinking of having it replaced. I can empathize with you! It's a pain in the arse when stuff like this happens. Good luck! :-)
So I already set the programming for the heater , do I have to leave it on “heat” the whole time in order for the program to run or can I turn if “off” thanks for the help🤝🏽
Just moved into a new house and this is the thermostat it came with. I woke up to a frozen house in mid winter. I changed all the default times to the temperature to my liking and followed all the steps. I've been at it with this damn thermostat for 5 days and still wake up frozen. I'm looking for instructions to change the 4 hi and 4 lo which is set to 4 different temps in the 60s. I'm not sure if that's the issue. I'm 🥶 freezing. Please help!
Try just putting it to the temp you want and press hold it should stay there. If it does not you have another issue, either power, an issue with the thermostat or the heat source.
@@TrueDevine I tried Randy's suggestion and it worked. I have it on Auto and my preferred temp on hold. I just adjust the temperature as needed all while on the Hold setting. I hope it works for you.
It keeps different settings for heat and cold so you keep it on the correct setting for that season. If you have the time and temp set it will do the rest for you!!
@@TheRandyMan I live in Brooklyn, NY.. The temp up here since the storm passed have been in the teens. Just trying 2 keep it on a set setting so the bill won't be so high. Thank u so much 4 responding back 🥰
@@essence1126 You may want to program it, so it lowers a couple of degrees later at night when you’re sleeping when you probably don’t need it as warm. That should save you a bit of money.
My screen started faintly flashing "Lo" and now the screen won't turn on at all, and no heat either. Does that mean the battery is dead? How do I change the batteries?
It will cycle when needed, meaning if you hold it on cool at 70 and it goes to 71 it will turn on. Hold just means don't switch the temp on a schedule until i tell you.

If you mean you do not want to use the programming settings you can either set each time to the same temp so it will always use that or move it to the temp you want and press hold. It will stay there until you remove the hold.
