I completely think hair is hair. But, I can get a bit catty when I see a black woman with straightened, white hair saying that whites can’t have a black hair style. It like she is saying it is ok for me to look like you but you can’t look like me. Love your message.
Right girl! Im Polynesian cultures don't hate having on anyone. We love to share our Aloha with everyone. And just saying braids started way back in Exodus/Moses. Preach girl let's love one another. SO WE CAN SHARE FOOD WITH EACH OTHER VUT WE CAN'T SHARE MUSIC OR HAIRSTYLES OR RELIGION TF!!!!
whn ppl complain about cultural appropriation they should analyze how many things tht they use tht don't come from their heritage. n We r So Blessed to be in a wrld n time where We hav so much mixing of Ppl n cultures. the culture from heritage So enriches Our culture whn Our Human Family shares, respects, acknowledges n appreci8s othrs cultures. capitals r for emphasis n respect, not yelling. Love n Blessings Family!!!
I love you. i really do , i wish i had nothing but friends like you in all races. People don't realize this world would be so ugly if it was only one race , i love what she's doing. She just wants peace and wants us to do this TOGETHER, and i don't see anything wrong with her wanting us all to be happy TOGETHER.
The hairstyles are gorgeous, I would be sad if I ever had to tell my grand babies they can't wear certain styles they see on people of color because they are white. ❤❤❤
If you flip it and someone said to an dark skined african person you can't have your hair straight cos you aren't white, they would be the first to shout that it was racist tbh. Europeans put up with a lot of bs and racism tbh.
Chile they only go back and forth with BP about this if anybody else talked about cultural appropriation they respect what they say, not make it a big deal and move on smh
what kills me is how this young lady doesn't even address the fact that so many black women straighten their hair from way back and do styles that white women have done. It works both ways. In the grand scheme of things it's just hair just like makeup. You out it on or style it the way you want. I can't believe how righteous some people think they are by this stupid kind of judgement. I mean look at her hair also. Mostly straight. Sure it could be natural but I can't believe she doesn't blow dry it which will give it a straighter texture. This kind of attitude is soooo misguided in people these days,. If only, and I mean if only people would just stop and think.
That's what my family has always said! Plus, she was being a little ironic since, technically, she herself was wearing a "white" hairstyle. So that was hypocrisy at it's finest. Plus my family always laughs when one culture tries to claim and call racism etc or dread locks! That just naturally will happen to anyone. Especially wjth curly hair if you don't watch out......so I am not sure how everyone thinks they can solely claim it. I think the same way you do about hair.
