Whitney Houston rehearses Hold Me on May 10th, 1987 for the "The Linda Creed Memorial Scholarship Fund" Concert. The piano man is singing Teddy Pendergrass's part in the song.
Such poise...such beauty...so elegant...and that voice!! Truly God given!! I loved/love her SO much it's almost painful!! A rare and exotic blossom, too magnificent to exist for very long on this hostile planet...but appreciation boundless for the gift of her to us!!
Nice tribute to Diana Ross . "Hold Me" was originally recorded by Diana Ross with the title "In Your Arms" for her album " Silk Electric " ( 1982) . In the choirs of Diana Ross versione, there was Cissy Houston, the mother of Whitney . "Hold Me" , was written by Michael Masser and Linda Creed, while the production was overseen by Masser who used one of his earlier arrangements that he had produced for "In Your Arms", on the duet. "Hold Me" is a ballad duet performed by American singers Teddy Pendergrass and Whitney Houston from the former's eight studio album Love Language (1984). "Hold Me" was Houston's first ever single of her career and was later included in Houston's 1985 self-titled debut album.
@@Omega1st What a stupid steatment. God has given her voice, she needed to practice liie everybody. Just because you have a talent doesnt mean youll use it, Whitney used it perfectly.
My thoughts exactly 10 years later am still crying why did she have to go, after watching everything that she went through it was not fair , to such a beautiful person, heart and soul I love her still forever, I grew with her singing.
I agree tho I think it was a family-based personal preference by her to have her brother as backup and part of her comfort zone having her own pianist and saxophonist. I don't think most folks know that Whitney had perfect pitch, so she never needed those earpieces. Just a matter of getting her chords to hit what her ear already knew was in tune or not. I feel she was the greatest live performer ever. That she can sound so phenomenal in rehearsals attests to the fact that she was the best!
Earpieces are only monitors. Be it in ear or the monitor on stage, but every singer has a monitor. Ijs. Love Whitney. But having or not having an in ear monitor is not a plus or minus simply a preference. And lots of singers opt not to use in ears because it gets annoying after a while when you're constantly rehearse and performing.
God given...He gave her that instrument, and then He gave us her, and i couldn't be more appreciative!! Thank heavens her gifts were so well documented, thus allowing her to live forever...Whitterz, my girl
Man.... What a blessing from God Whitney Houston. I never had a chance to meet you, but your gift was felt tremendously. You are missed Whitney. Thank you

@Mznicety1 it's crazy u said that cuz out of all my 18 and a half years of living I've NEVER seen Whit with an earpiece in her ear LOL that is so crazy... I had to actually sit back and think about that and I realized you sho rite cuz I've NEVER EVER seen her with one lol that really goes 2 show how genuinely talented she was..
Die diffuse Atmosphäre, die gekonnten Scheinwerfereffekte, sparsame Orchestrierung, ihr Kleid nebst Sonnenbrille machen diesen Auftritt immer zauberhafter. Was für ein himmlisches Geschenk. ❤❤❤❤
Beautiful but there she goes changing it to her own interpretation again. I'm my opinion, she did this way too much across the board. Just sing it like your original recording. I know she could have. She was lovely.
This was just a rehearsal, but I didn't notice any error, it's PERFECTLY DONE! How much in the live performance! I LOVE YOU, WHITNEY! Praying for you always, REST IN PEACE IN THE LORD!😊😊😊
Whitney where have you gone! Yes there will be loads of great singers, but none will EVER be as spectacular as Whitney. Music just doesn't feel the same without her in the world.
WHITNEY JUST SINGING WITH EASE DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who do u kno nowadays that can jus sing off top w/they hands in they pockets jus sangin??!!!!! Ridiculous lol It's crazy that Teddy n Whitney gone.. It's like I'm lookn @ two ghosts.. I grew up listenin 2 these ppl.. Eventho I'm 18.. These were the ppl I listened 2.. I got thru a lot of shit cuz I listened 2 their music.. It's still all just crazy 2 me n it makes me sad..
So there was one ❤️W.H.❤️video on youtube I had not seen and this literally made me more happy today than I thought was possible. Thank you to the people who filmed this iconic moment and to those who shared it. The One and Only. ❤️W.H.❤️
Could not agree more......Whitney was amazing. A creative musical genius - belting beautiful sounds even in rehearsal.........she is and will always be truly missed.
@@kelltaylor5774 thanks for that ..I would definitely be inclined to think that except that the song is in a higher key than the original. It is definitely more like Gary 's tenor rather than Teddy's signature baritone esp if you listen to the version the two of them often sang on Whitney's early tours; the ad libs being a key feature of their appearances together
Absolutely Amazing! God gave Whitney Wonderful gifts and He let Whitney share it with the world. Thank You God And Thank You Witney. Whitney will Always Be Loved And Missed And She Will Never Be Forgotten 🙏💜🎶⚘️🎵💯💜🎶⚘️🎵💯
