I've watched this performance many times, and I tear up every time. Clearly her life experiences had a lasting effect on her voice, but her talent was still very much on display. Voice aside, she always had an incredible ability to express emotion through song and that came through loud and clear in this performance. As you said, her joy to be there and to sing with/to her friend and to the Lord just tugs on my heart. The immense love the crowd had for her is so great to see too! This was her final televised performance and I think it's a fitting cap to her legacy.
