They didn't call her "The Voice" for nothing. You would need to listen to her live performances to appreciate how no one can sing like Whitney. No one does it better than Nippy.
she is the blueprint.. .Only National anthem to hit top 10 on pop chats , twice and sold over 1 million copies. All the others are just hyped.. This antyhem has been covered every year in jan/feb in all new papers and revered for 32 years. The articles written about this anthem is running into the 1000s! There is no version comparable. it is blasphempous to dare compare. I will ask fans of the other stars to produce yearly articles from the time thier idols sang the national anthem Only Whitney has an unbriken line of articles dating as far back as 1991!
Amen ! Every "list/comparison/ best of" videos I have watched ALWAYS has Whitney's at No. 1 - and rightly so !! From 33 years ago !!! And it charted in 1991 on the Hot 100 when people had to go buy physical singles instead of tapping a finger on a phone - EVEN more remarkable !
Never a more glorious performance. Her voice, her beauty, her patriotism. I was never more proud to be an American than at that very moment when she was singing this all adorable. A true goddess on earth.
She's the best I have ever seen, and no one has come even close! I'm 57, and I have seen many recorded and live, but Whitney Houston sang from a place so deep down that it will probably never be matched. This was such an uplifting too, to an America reeling in from recession and War. It was the right place and the right time, but her performance will reverberate for all time! She was my teen years crush! I as I am sure all of her minions miss her with heavy heart! My all time favorite of Whitney song other than the Anthem performance was 'You give good love'.
Your first comment at 4:12, had me nodding in agreement! Lol Hands down, Whitney did the song best! Everyone else does it lovely. But Whitney, will always be that drop-the-mic type of performer. Ever! ❤
This was only the tip of the Iceberg. Prime Whitney was no joke. Check out the welcome home heroes live performances.... mainly All the Man that i need, A Song for You, The Greatest love of all Also One Moment in Time Grammy performance and A Quiet Place
I remember this like yesterday.. I was 26.. never thought anyone would come close to Whitney.. Chris Stapleton did in a totally different way.. I'm 6 in one half dozen the other with Whitney and Chris.. they both killed it in their own way. I can't pick a fav.. love em both..
