I've always thought that Sunburst was Sunset Shimmer's brother. It would make sense. When Celestia banished Sunset, she must have been lonely and no doubt she cried herself to sleep every night.

The name Luster Dawn is also effectively a reversed form of Twilight Sparkle, which kind of fits in with Twilight's story being brought full circle at the end of the series.

Here's a theory I've had. Im kinda glad I never suggested it to Sawtooth although I wanted to. So I think Luster Dawn might be daughter of Sunburst and Moondancer. She's pretty repulsive towards friendship, wants to study independently, is also magically talented just like Moondancer. Her coat color could have came from her mother's mane. Also I think Moondancer and Sunburst have cute dynamic. Both are nerdy, socially awkward, have trouble reconnecting with old friends, have glasses, she's moon, he's sun. It would make sense for their daughter to be named Dawn. Also, it would explain why Spike doesn't know her.

Spike did know who she was he was just confused that luster dawn was the top student. Think of it like jokingly between two friends that know eachother, saying things like “your twilight’s top student?’ But in a more joking way.

The reason why I still think starlight is lusters mother is beacause when everyone walks into the school of friendship, you see how starlight excitedly waves at luster and smiles… I feel like only a mother would do that. And because where was Trixie? If trixie and sunburst had a child then wouldn’t they be together? Edit: I didn’t say this earlier bc I didn’t think I needed to , now I think I do tho lol. In the scene that they walk into the school in, you can actually see trixie walking around the corner. If sunburst and trixie worked at the same school, why aren’t they hanging out with each other or talking with each other?

I feel like starlight would teach her daughter abt friendship, and luster knew nothing of that

No I already know that starlight is her mother and sunburst is her father and also starlight was always shy around sunburst and trixie was always showing of around sunburst so i think that trixie and starlight were fighting and that's why we didn't see them together in the last ep , it wasn't that obvious that starlight had a crush on sunburst but it was kinda obvious that sunburst had a crush on her 1.he was happier was happier when he met her 2.he was always hugging her 3.he was making a lot of eye contact with her 4.i kinda think he was trying to make her jealous in the ep uncommon bond 5.he got so worried that they had nothing in common in ep uncommon bond so many ppl were animating them to together and if you search if they are a couple it would show you pics with them

The lighter streaks in her hair could also be explained by Trixie having those lighter streaks. Starlight nor Moondancer have those light streaks and she couldn't have gotten them from sunburst. (Tho starlights dad did have lighter streaks if I remember correctly tho I'm not sure if it's from age or if he always had them.)

Facial expression, character, eyelashes like starlight. And the mane is similar, like Starlight's father and the eyes, like Sunburst's mother. 🤔

Here a theory: If Luster Dawn really not Starlight’s daughter, yea. It make sense that Spike didn’t known Luster. (I will talk about if Starlight is actually Luster’s mom later) However. If Trixie is Luster’s mom. It make sense 50% for me… Because Trixie look like kinda showed a lot of magic show, so she could has average Magic abilities. But Luster seem to *NOT* has any good magic abilities… that not make sense… (expect in case she doesn’t show us) Well… Sunburst actually make sense for me if he is really Luster’s father. So let talk about if Starlight is Luster’s mom. Well if she is her mom, that mean Starlight might has completely loss touch with Spike, (expect they still in touch, but she never told Spike about she marry with Sunburst and have a kid?) But after Twilight and Spike moved to Canterlot they still has touch with others mane 6. Which it can be make sense if he still in touch with Starlight… But if Luster are actually Starlight daughter. That mean she is Headmare school’s daughter but having no friendship skill while Headmare school once be princess of friendship (Twilight) student? That kinda not logical. But however, we didn’t see a sign that Starlight married Sunburst. *Ok… imma talk about that Spike still in touch with Starlight but she never told Spike that she married Sunburst.* So if that happen, that mean Starlight and Sunburst are really Luster’s parents but… Why would Luster has no friendships skill? It possible that she met friends in the school that actually bully or anti her? And that mean she doesn’t want to make any friends because she might think so nobody can bully her. We also seen that in Mlp there also the bullying like when in season 1 that Rainbow Dash got bullied that she will can’t do Sonic Rainbow. Oh if Luster Dawn has a bully problem and she doesn’t want to make any friends or friendship, she could ask Headmare school (Starlight) and if Starlight is her mom. She might told Luster to talk with Twilight and ask her about friendships And last theory, If Luster Dawn are just a random Unicorn. It also not make sense that Spike didn’t known her too. Like… Why would Twilight not told him about her best student. Because Luster Dawn are Twilight’s best student, Spike could as least known her as a best student? Or it mean that Twilight never told Spike about any students but she only use Spike as her helper? That all for my theory. I think the theory that Starlight and Sunburst are Luster Parents still my most logical theory. There might be some event that made Luster doesn’t want to make a friend or friendships. And made she doesn’t has any friendships skill. (And the cutie mark thing, Sunburst is Sun, Luster is Dawn, and Starlight is Star. Star could mean the Nighttime too, and Dawn is between Daytime and Nighttime, that why it still make sense for me to think this is the most logical theory, and Starlight are the powerful unicorn She might actually has magic power higher than average, But for Luster , her Magic abilities it seem to be below average or is she learning. She looked like one of the nerds in the school too. And if she learning, and Trixie is her mom, Luster could as least showed that she love magic show. If she really showed it can make sense that Trixie is her mom, because she might like the magic show like her mom, but she doesn’t… that why I think she is Starlight’s daughter but she learning magic) And also my opinion that people think Moon dancer is Luster’s mom. I don’t think that made much sense, because how did Sunburst known Moon dancer? He couldn’t just randomly ask Twilight about her if he doesn’t even know she exists. Right? Edit: Btw, after I rewatch *The Last Problem* Spike did known Luster, but he just surprised that she has no friendship skill. Which that mean… IT MADE I REALLY THINK LUSTER’s PARENTS ARE STARLIGHT AND SUNBURST MUCH MORE… (However which mean it 50% that she is Starlight and Sunburst daughter, and 50% that she is random unicorn from anywhere…)

I think her parents are Sunburst and Starlight. The two have rekindled their friendship and it seems like they would fall inlove after knowing eachother for so many years.

Sunburst was so bashful around Starlight even telling her to look away when he was naked in uncommon bond even though shes always naked around him so I find it hard to believe he would ever screw her. but if you look up who are luster dawns parents on google it says they are Sunburst and Starlight so perhaps it's cannon.

I have a crazier theory. What if Luster Dawn isn't Starlight and Sunburst's daughter, but instead, she's their half-sister? What if after the events of Parents Map, both Starlight's dad (Firelight) and Sunburst's mom (Stellar Flare) got together. They did seem to develop a strong bond.

To me Spike not knowing who Luster is has nothing to do with Starlight maybe mainly because he and Starlight never really interacted much and weren't that close in my opinion they were just there in the same castle and just a support so it doesn't really matter if spike is close with starlight or not and spike not knowing who luster was is rubbish because twilight is the ruler of Equestria and took over Celestia's school so spike would technically know all twilights students and if not then why doesn't he live in the castle with twilight? :/ but yeah starlight still being lusters mom is still possible whether spike is close with her or not sooo

I think sunburst and starlight are luster dawn’s parents because they would be tired talking care of her when she was just a baby and if she wasn’t even named yet then spike wouldn’t visit knowing starlight is tired and then they named her but spike was to busy helping out twilight so he wouldn’t know her

Well I have been thinking Sawtooth and I think the possible theory is that Luster dawn is Sunset shimmer's foal...😮but think about it , if luster was somehow Sunburst's daughter she should have had his leg or facial markings and her colour had to be much darker or brighter but that's just my thoughts I hope some of you agree with me😅❤🐴🦄

I think this is fun food for thought, considering they’re not really going to touch back on this since that part of the series is over. So I think it’s a fun idea to speculate who her parents could be. I like the idea of starlight because their color schemes match but I love the idea of Trixie too. I think that is more likely but it’s fun nonetheless.

Here's my theory: I don't think that Starlight and Sunburst are Luster Dawn's parents because if you look closely to the (background) students in the school of friendship you can find a pony that is actually very similar to Luster dawn, she almost looks like Luster Dawn just a bit darker, so I think that, that one student in the school of Friendship is Luster Dawns mother
