It also doesn't mention that the original cybermen were from the planet Mondos which was a sister planet to earth that was flung out into deep space. The humans had to adapt to colder temperatures so they replaced all their body parts with machinery. While the first Doctor was visiting earth, Mondos made its way back towards earth and we meet the cybermen for the first time. They tried to destroy earth but the doctor stopped them at the cost of his life and we see the doctor regenerate for the first time.

I figured out how they really travel to other universe, parred universe etc. They build up speed for 30 mins, and then do a 0.5 a press and they get there I will go now

You know what I liked about some of the earlier Cybermen Stories? They were willing to negotiate a lot of the time. They were emotionless beings hell bent on their survival and willing to do absolutely anything without remorse, but they were also very desperate a lot of the time and thus were logical enough to know that trying to talk things out could be a more effective method over attacking everyone. Course their instance that everyone become like them meant no really negotiations could ever take place but it still made them feel a lot more rounded.

I like that they're more intimidating and advanced, and I love the smoother, classic-looking faces. But I wish their former humanity was more apparent, to the point that it would create an unsettling uncanny valley effect.

I do like them, but i do believe that they look to much like Iron man than "cyberman" , and plus they are really OP and still practically get foiled instantly which makes no sense.

The thing that worked really well with the cyber man in the classic era was the time in between their appearances, it gave them time to reasonably evolve from the pov of the viewer, I hope they take a break for at least a couple of series.

Personally I just want them to have their artificial larynx voices from "Tomb of the Cybermen" back, particularly the deeper version from the scene where they betray Klieg. I think it fits the idea of an emotionless, semi-artificial humanoid perfectly.

Something that does confuse me was when they addressed the Parallel Universe Cybermen. More specifically, their creator and how they addressed him. ‘The evil John Lumic’ doesn’t describe him. From a point of view that does not favour humanity or the cybermen he’s more of a desperate lunatic trying to cheat death

CrackedHail I love the old design as well (mainly the tenth planet variant). The new series cybermen just look and act like pure robots.

Yeah, the overly robotic portrayal is boring. It'd be far creepier if they played up the ex-human side. And it would be cool to explore the transhuman angle.

I liked the old Cybermen a lot, but you gotta remember that Cybermen are all about upgrading their bodies and removing all emotions, so the almost fully robotic versions make sense. I would like to see their human side explored a bit more though.

ADarthTokuDalek I'd say they did what they could at the time. I remember the Tom Baker Cybermen's helmets being held together by tape, but that was just because the budget wasn't very big.

***** They haven't been killed by emotions since Doomsday. The new Cybermen, wich are a combination of Mondasian and Pete's world Cybermen, have super speed and can instantly upgrade to resist any weaponry. They can also turn their heads 360 degrees and can now fly. I do think their human side needs to be shown more, but they already did that with Danny Pink.

And all the stuff you mentioned just makes them worse; they're not creepy in the slightest which is the fundamental core thing Cybermen should be. I don't care if they're "more deadly", I'd rather they be more like Cybermen.

At this point I'd love the Big Finish story Spare Parts to be adapted properly in the series, one of the scaiest Doctor Who stories ever, and needs to be on screen, if its too gruesome for the show, adapt it into Class.

79.03.13 I respectfully disagree especially in a Torchwood or Class episode, I would love to see the real gore of the cybermen looked into. (Bit like Cyberwoman but further)
