Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Would love to see Battleships or something, where there's an actual wall inbetween and you have to aim into the sky, only downside is you'll have to rely on the info from the opponent to see where you hit.

Idea: RC battles! You will need logic to make a car/plane/tank/whatever you feel like building but RC. You will have a seat somewhere where it won’t be destroyed which controls your RC vehicle. You will also probably need camera blocks. RC vehicles are annoying to build (trust me I have experience) because of logic but I think you guys can make it work!

Could you have gimble-able hover pads to offset the affects of terrain? I wouldn't mind if you did this again but played into the ramming more. Hover battle bots? I'd be interested to see if simply turning off the hover-pads would allow you to easily break. If you got 2 more people, maybe try tank crews with 1 gunner and 1 driver.

You should make hovercraft that go on water, but are only powered by underwater propellors. I made one earlier today, it's quite fun

You know what... Armored core mechs rarely walk. So you could make a mech shaped hover with auto-stabilize. Then add gimble jets to "fly" with on button press. And bam, you have armored core battles in trailmakers.

Surprised neither of you went with a fixed turret (with up/down ofc). Seems really feasible with hovertanks - especially with strafing and a camera like Yzuei - and would make the cannon a lot harder to break off.

IDEA! First you both build a speedy car that can shoot bombs for round 1 Then you both build helicopters that shoot bombs for round 2 Finally you build planes that shoot bombs for round 3 The bombs that are shot out is the contraption you made up (the bombing run thing turned into explosive bullets that fire forward). A battle of the entire military arsenal!

Have a game of tag on the airborne map with 3+ players. Everyone builds four vehicles. One ground vehicle and one air vehicle with no weapons. These will be used when you are the runner. Another ground and air vehicle but these have rocket launchers. These will be used by taggers. Taggers can tag others by either ramming or shooting

Loved this video. I actually had something pretty similar in mind and was gonna suggest this but this was pretty much what I imagined it to be. Love you guys, it always makes my day when I see you upload. Especially when it’s these types of videos together with yzeui. Keep it up

I've got a funny idea, do a match where all you have are mouse controls. Left, middle, right click, and camera direction. I think it'll be difficult depending on what it is, but also a ton of fun.

Cool idea: Build a vehicle that can drive, fly and go underwater. Then battle against the other player in each different mode: Ground, Air and Water.

With just swapping the weapons usually one build is the best in all the challenges. I'd like to see some different challenges to determine the most versatile build, e.g a smart gun battle, then a race and finally finally some other category like who can glide the longest or has the lower block/energy core count. I also like to see more asymmetric challenges, e.g. one player has to defend a pirate balloon or building and the other has to destroy it.

Suggestion: You could make a course through maze valley, and race Yzuei through it using planes. I've done it and it's a lot of fun.

I think in these kind of battles, there should be a clear defined area the combatants are allowed to move in. Additionally the name tags should be of. The area is known from the start, so camouflage is a viable option. That way the battle also gets a parts of tactics. What if you wait for the enemy to pass you?

I've got one for you, taking inspiration from the torpedo episode. get a group of 4. everyone makes a battle ship, and a small manned kamikaze torpedo. one person drives their boat, the other drives their torpedo trying to sink the enemy boat. the torpedo players will have to balance defending the friendly boat and attacking the enemy. ofc torpedo players get infinite repair. switch after a few rounds

I think an mixed environment challenge could be fun. Maybe you start of building subs, then move on to boats, land and air or something. The idea is that you are allowed to make limited changes at each stage, so that you your vehicle changes with time.

Just letting you know, with the way TrailMakers destruction works, dead center of the build is the "safest" spot. Splash from explosions will bounce up under your build, direct hits will penetrate down into your hull, bullets will wear away your blocks. The middle, where there's the most stuff between you and everything else that can disconnect you, is the best place for controls if you're planning on taking damage.

Awesome build! How about: Buggy battles on a large moving platform. The platform would move in 6 directions and tilt/rotate if possible. At random more or less so you could go airborne unpredictably. The platform would also be destructible making things even crazier.

That final spin gave me an idea. Do a hammer toss style contest. Design a vehicle that spins and can release a "ball" then see who can throw the furthest. Alternatively, set up on opposite sides of a field and see who can hit the other person. You'd probably want a standard ball that you both have to throw, but otherwise, you could build whatever you want. I'm really surprised that you didn't hit the terrain more often, when you said that you were skipping strafe, I figured you'd find yourself barreling into trees a lot but it seems that Yzuie had that taken care of for you 😂 I really enjoy the rocket rounds, the tank cannon was also fun. I'd like to see more rocket rounds, fewer minigun/small cannon.

Tournament style competition of all of your 1v1 creations to find out who has built the better crafts. This would be epic and a lot of fun!!!

The dev race is actually pretty satisfying with the intensity of the competition. So having another race would be good but the twist would be 2 players of the same team must create seperate builds and combine it. This not just makes it satisfying if the 2 creations work well combined and more intense since the 2 players of the same team must control the same vehicle.

Maybe you could try a series of builds that use only 1 block of propulsion (not power core limit). For example, a plane with a single jet engine, or a car with 1 dragon engine. It could be a competition to see who can build the best thing with 1 specific propulsion or who chooses the best option - e.g. a jet engine vs. a dragon engine in a car

SUGGESTION: I would like to see a battle with historical vechicles like planes,boats and cars from roughly the same era. For example,F-86 and F-47. You could even use failed aircraft like the christmas bullet.

Jumping Car or Tank battle: Build armored cars (or light tanks) that can only fire a smart cannon or minigun or rocket when theyre in the air. They should be able to jump using pistons with a bit of gimbal jet assistence. THis would be like the flying sub battle but even more funny. A good location for this would be the Meadow on Treasure Island.

I feel like for the tankier stuff, like... well, tanks, have some kind of explosive like dynamite buried inside. Represents ammo storage, fuel, whatever you want it to be, and also provides a definite sign of victory!

Idea: How about a death race utilizing Race island, depending upon how many players, the one(s) that are not in first place can use weapons meanwhile the person in first place cannot but first place could utilize defend tactics such as a dice block to form road blocks etc.

What I see from most of these kind of videos is that there can be a skill variable when testing your builds. Maybe do a tournament style series of videos to find the best builds. All of your friends using each vehicle involved, then each winner of each build would then battle winners of other builds, etc until there is a winner. Just an idea, I guess

im surprised you didnt go all tank destroyer like with the tank builds and layer shields, but some form of jousting might be fun, starting with impacts until no more movement, then high speed passes with guns as the next few levels

5:50 you can try putting the servo down one then removing/cutting out the blocks that would grind with the turret. So there would be a space under the turret but it would look like it is sitting right on top of the chassis. You can try to make it seamless so you don't see the space underneath. So your servo would be protected longer.

You can use the gyro jets with angle sensors to keep yourself level and offset some weight.

We've seen coop tank battles (3v3) with multiple tanks, we've seen coop plane battles both with 1 plane controlled by pilot and gunner and with multiple planes 1 pilot each. What do you think about tank battle where one of you build a turret and the second one build the rest of the tank (of course if you can merge creations like that)? Bring for example Kan and Kosmo with you and do a 2v2. Maybe do the same set of round as here. Minigun -> rocket -> tank cannon. Or maybe swap the turrets after each round. It might be interesting.

video idea. Very slow moving tanks or walkers and use unaimed rockets or cannons (multiple of the same kind seems more fun) to destroy each one. Maybe use active movable shields you deploy in front of the gun in order to protect it. Of course max block limit

Inverted dolphin fight (only shoot when in water and in a plane)Only air propulsion as well. It will be rly hard with the huge deceleration but worth a try

You guys should do turret vs bomber plane: each person builds a vehicle capable of flight with a single bomb bay on the bottom, and each person builds a stationary turret that can rotate and aim upwards. The goal would be of course to destroy the other person's creation beyond usability. For the plane, that would mean inability to fly, control the plane, or drop bombs; and in the turret's case it would mean inability to fire or aim.

(video idea) I think a good idea would be a dog fight without without using wings as a source of lift. aileron and elevators can be used to help with stability and steering but cannot be used to create any sort of lift or help get off the ground

Any possibility of getting more people? 2 Man teams, soldier robots. Go all out. Camouflage, jump packs, slab shields, melee; whatever you feel would work. You have to capture a point by holding it for 1 full minute. King of the hill style.

What about a race through the airborne map with enemies on. You both build hover cars and have some weapon on them. You can repair as often as needed but you're fast and there are enemies so there are a lot of obstacles. Minimal armor, smart cannons, and maybe a speed limit (but something that's still pretty fast). I think you guys may have already done something like this but the hover pads could add another layer of chaos, lol.

scrapman you need to look into piston glitching, it's great for hiding your turrets turning mechanic, and even though it has glitch in its name it is said by the devs to be a feature and will never be patched

Heads up when building armour you want to use a lot of smaller blocks as they provide more defense than a few large blocks

You can make the tanks fly by placing the hoverpads directly ontop of large pontoons. Would like to see how you can race with that

Big Fan keep it up you guys should do a "BEST BUILD ROYAL". Do either land, air, or sea and have a 700 block count and unlimited power core count. Battle each other and see who wins, even have 2 more guys or 1 extra person join, and have like a free for all.

Another cool competition video could be like your glider video but instead use autorotating helicopters and fight it out. Also, for those videos where u do sick stunts, you could do one where its like you parachute out of a plane and try to land back inside the plane - but of course you would be gliding.

I think I'd be better if you didn't have turret rotation and only aimed with your whole tank because you can turn quite quickly on the hover pads, it would also prevent turret pops 😅

I recommend using z and c for steering since you don't have to take your fingers off aswd. Click z/C with your thumb and zoom around I guess

Sea Adventure Rammers. Ram vehicles. But you can only use chooper propulsion. 1 bellow, 1 flying and 1 hover. The hover ram with high waves would be fun and chaotic.

Battle idea: *_Hover Car vs Boat vs Submarine vs Plane_*_ Destruction Derby Royale!_ Battle Arena: High Seas Map It is, as it says on the tin, an all-terrain battle royale where everyone has to race around the map while trying to destroy each other. You are allowed to repair however much you want, and if you're at last place you can use rocket boosters. Optional Win Condition: Instead of racing around the ocean map, you race in a spiral towards the vortex. First one to go directly into the center of the vortex wins, and dying just outside the rim of the vortex doesn't count.

I'd like to see a video with at least 3 youtubers where you all build a vehicle for a couple different challenges, like a car, a tank, a boat, a plane, etc, but then for each challenge you have to choose one of your friend's design instead. Gotta guess who you think made the best one based on looks!

Y'all should do RC tank fights. Use the camera to see the RC and have no seat in it. And instead of a block limit maybe do a size limit. Like 1 by 1 or 4 by 4 exc...

Spaceship battle would be cool like using the gravity mod and building spaceships to fight each other ( I think scrapman has done something similar before with Kan and Kosmo)

I think you should do stockcar racing - oval track no weapons just crash into each other until your car wont drive anymore. you could introduce track obstacles each round to make it more destructive.
