nondancers automatically call idols bad dancers when they overdance, an example is san from ateez or hyunjin from stray kids, some people even call kai a bad dancer for that when overdancing isn’t that important. Angles, coordination, arm and torso control, facials, dynamics etc are more important😊
@@yuqiidle722 overdancing and underdancing does affect ones dynamics since it also means being able to control ones energy. Kai may have overdance in the past but I haven't seen any so I have to disagree on that. Overdancing is still a very important problem to face but not that important if compared to stiff torso It's a dilemma in the dancing community that none dancers do directly say that

Honestly, I still bblieve Sana is part of the official dance line. I believe they removed her from the dance line when either Fancy or Yes or Yes came out so, I still believe shes part of official. Jihyo on the other hand... JYP PLEASE, SHE DESERVES IT.

I hate it when people argue that Jihyo isn't good, she only has energy. Like, she has the 2nd best lower body area control in TWICE. Great at pops, locks and waves and always gives her all. Those are main dancers characteristics
People think everything it’s about overdancing and underdancing, when a dancer has a powerful technique non-dancers automatically say the person is a bad dancer, i’ve seen people saying kai and momo are bad dancers for this which is ridiculous because there’s a lot more going on that just overdancing-underdancing.
@@yuqiidle722 Kai doesn't overdance, a misconception. While Momo does, it's not bothering her movements at a very bad state. She isn't sloppy and is a great dancer. I'd argue that she is the best in the third generation between the big three
Exactly. Even if she isn't in the top 4, you can see how good she is and how she improved A LOT. Her consistency, control, power, fluidity and stamina are way better than before.
This is a big slap to those haters who underestimated SANA and JIHYO'S dancing skills. I am very happy that their hard work were recognize. They deserve more love and recognition.

JYP choose the Lead dancers based in who memorize the choroegraphies faster, in this case, Nayeon and Tzuyu. Sana and Jihyo aren't fast to memorize the choreographies and sometimes they tend to forgot steps.

But i don't think she can be on par with SinB cos if you really look at how SinB dance she still holds back to keep the balance from the group unlike dancers like momo and chaeyeon who gives it their all. It was only on wow thing that she really gives it her all since the other members are pretty good in terms of dance and have amazing stage presence

I'm only a casual fan of Twice and thought Jihyo and Momo were main dancers, especially after watching their MAMA 2019 stage. Then I saw so many hate comments on her 'overdancing' 🤦♀️. Glad to see her at no.2 for ICSM 💛

The thing is, for the most part overdancing isn't an issue. It becomes an issue if the dancer starts missing beat by being too fast and if the dancer doesn't know when to use less energy in coordination with the beat - alll my dance teachers.
This is crazy because Jihyo isnt part of the dance line and Sana has never been acknowledged for her dancing. This just says to me that these two have been improving like crazy!!! Thank you for your analysis. It blew my mind!!!👍🏻💕
TMI: During trainee days Nayeon is the only trainee who have guts to dance with Momo, because Momo is known as a spectacular dancer, trainees are scared to dance with her but Nayeon is not, she started dancing in the shadows until she keep up with Momo
Nayeon is underrated as a dancer, she’s a really good center, i can’t stop looking at her every time she performs, she deserves her lead dancer position💗 let’s appreciate dahyun dance also!!
I love her dancing too but i think 2 of her main problems are (which i've seen it from other people's comment too) 1) She always hits hard notes while singing so sometimes she stops dancing (this is not her fault btw, no one can sing and dance when hitting that notes) 2) She dances like main dancer when she is in center but when she gets side positions, she doesn't care as much as before.

I hope people will not attack you again (because afterall, you are still human and people should see and treat you as one) especially since Mina is put on a lower rank that some might not expect in a main dancer. But it’s understandable that ICSM didn’t show her strength as a dancer. Anyways, she is still a great idol and trained dancer and that is that. Adding: I hope you can do more analysis/ranking on the recent comebacks (txt, monsta x, ab6ix, gfriend).

Still amazed at how Momo is a strength-centered dancer yet her torso is still a strength for her. I mean, sure, she doesn't tend to lean towards fluid torso movements but when she has to, she can. I would loooooooove to see her break free from her strength-centered style and have a go at more fluidity-centered dances.

Jihyo's many years of training really shining through here, wow! I do feel like people sometimes discount her as a dancer simply because she's the main vocal and we don't usually associate main vocals with being good dancers.

Nobody hate her. Nayeon has it all the center, face of the group, lead vocalist, and lead dancer in the group but how about others? Jihyo as the leader and their main vocalist is good but it will be better if the lead dancer would be given to her look how people notice her improvement in dancing. And also Sana, my girl, how come she's only a Vocalist when non-fans thought she was the lead dancer and always watch her fancams alot? In this 9 member group there can be multiple positions and i believe Sana and Jihyo deserve the lead dancers too.
_nope...she is slow in learning choreos...if you're capable of memorizing the choreo as fast as possible or in a decent amount of time where you can also help those who are struggling (like Jihyo 😂) while being a really skilled dancer yourself, then you're probably a lead/main dancer material...unfortunately, she's not like that...aside from being slow in learning choreos, she also makes mistakes the most...🤷

A genuine question for the people saying "Mina is better in the overall sense" coming from a dancer. What do you mean by that. You understand that if a dancer has peak control over a body part they cannot just lose it and then get it back, right? If a dancer has great control over torso waves it would show no matter the choreo or genre. Its about how well you command your body part. The same goes for a dancers angles, muscle memory and energy control (coordination, and dynamics as OTS puts it). I am genuinely asking what you are basing that on because I don't get it. And please don't say official positions, those do not necessarily reflect and idols skills relative to the members. An dancer can surpass another with enough practice and sometimes it's just what the company wants them to focus on.
Ikr like dahyun they focus her on rapping but what if she focused on dancing? She is too flexible she is the most flexible in twice theres a lot potential in her like even momo can dance godly with just mid flexibility how much dahyun can?

The top 4 are my exact top 4 dancers in Twice. When watching fancams or dance practices, I tend to watch them especially Momo for energy and execution and Jiyho for energy and her enjoyment. I also love watching Nayeon and Sana for the added personality and individual expression they bring to the choreography. Though I will say a weakness of Momo is limited expressions.

Exactly. She isn't really comfortable with this type of choreographies, she trained ballet and modern dance, so she's more comfortable with them. She shined in Hit The Stage dance with Momo, her performances in Sixteen and the ballet performances that she did!

nayeon is such an all rouder: she can sing amazingly, she can dance very well, she can rap, and she is a one of the best centers in the kpop. people rarely prise her for the dancing, but she is soooo good, and it shows in this video
People forgot that Jihyo was supposed to be the main dancer of 6Mix, she always had good foundations in dancing. She put it a bit on the side since she debuted as the main vocal but now our girl is getting it back yeeeeha
Dahyun seems to be really improving with her dancing. Her dance always catches my eye because of the power she puts in in certain places and it makes her fancams fun to watch, her facial expressions play a big role in this as well

I really love watching Nayeon and Dahyun dance. Nayeon is a great center and I like her fluidity. And I just really like Dahyun's hip moves. She has such good control on them.

Unexpected but I honestly agree. I'm not a dancer so I really focus on what they put out, that's why I'm so attracted to momo and jihyo cause they caught my eye the most. What's funny people mocked TWICE on their dancing in their earlier dance routines for their cbs and now that they improved that significantly they are back on mocking their vocal tendencies Like imagine how hard TWICE is training the give a flawless dance performances in both the cbs this year Their dance harmonization and fluidity should be more praised They literally are going on their knees taking the bruises to show their dance prowess which you can easily see by the ranking -5 out of 8 members have an average score of 8+ MOMO being the standout obviously but the fact JIHYO & SANA are keeping up to MOMO (on average not saying they both are on same level as MOMO) shows how good TWICE are when it comes to dancing overall TWICE is arguably the best DANCING GROUP in the current gen or at least in top 5 easy Loved your video btw and I do agree on most of your analysis :)

I wondering these few years (maybe 2 yrs) why people always underestimate Jihyo's dance skills. I mean, when I see her dance, she deserve top 3. But people keep arguing she always overdance so she don't deserve. As a dancer, although she overdance, but her skills can be main dancer position if she debut another group. U know what I mean? Just because she overdance, doesn't means her skills is bad. I saw some choreographer or real dancer also overdance and also even my dance teachers overdance too although their skills are really2 great. Overdance is common happen but that doesn't means having bad dance skills. It can be improved. ( this is happen when you learn hardcore dance for example krumping). I thought I was wrong although I study dance these years untill I found this vdeo that same exactly what I think about Twice's dance ranking WHICH I think I was right.

Mine too. I'm glad our unpopular opinions are slowly becoming more popular. Sana and Jihyo really deserve the praise. They aren't "just performers" like the antis/solo stans say to discredit them. They are the full package.🔥
@@Gerry9595 Jihyo just needs to perfectly hone her lower body area control and master her pops which she is already great at to be on par with the weak main dancers (which are strong)
