even being a burlesque dancer, i think dita is a much better role model for little girls than a lot of mainstream celebrities now a days. at least in my opinion.
+Corrina Asher i agree totally she may be a "stripper" or always in her underwear but she is always tasteful and Glamours and a total inspiration because she is true to herself
I think she's a role-model because she's honest about who she is. Beauty and glamour are always a creation and well thought through. It's just that Dita never claims to be all natural. She put a lot of thought into her look and knows exactly what she wants and won't change it for anybody. That is more feminist than most models, wearing "no-make-up-make-up-looks", pretending to have woken up all perfect, eating a burger on tv and working out in secret. That's not being a role-model, that's flat out lying. And that's what rendered me anorexic and made me hate myself as a teen, because I knew I would never look like them and they made it seem so easy. And they play along to a sexist stereotype by men who want women to be sexy, hot, pretty, perfect, but also chill and down to earth and fun and not spend an hour in front of the mirror... Well which is it then? 'Cause if you want a "natural girl" she's going to have a lot more body-hair and cellulite, than you'll like and she's not going to smell like roses! Dita never claims it's easy. Her look is mature glamour, because it isn't pretentious.
It Refreshing to see that she admits that anyone can become or embrace glamour as a sort of Discipline in life. My grandmother who was a traditional South Indian and a lawyer always made sure to dress beautifully and ensure that she's well put together it was only after she passed away did I realize that to carry yourself in a particular style requires effort and hardwork and it's fantastic to do so
I have the same interest as dita. Love 30's-50's era and i love their fashion. I love love love red lipsticks too but i dont wear them because i dont have one
Dita I am a big fan. I am 55 and love the 40s style. I am curious does your line of lady's wear come in plus size. Where can I find your make-up. I hope you answer. Thank you.
