I love my job… I help create life. Cows play an important role in our ecosystem, not only do I help them to thrive, but I help them to secure important habitat for a remarkable number and variety of wild species. Save the world, eat beef!
Mr. Enoch, I found this video to be very interesting although you didn't talk about 2 main things I feel are important in the conversation. One of them is the impact on the rainforest by clearing it for land for cattle thus disturbing the ecosystem that did not have large mammals and fields present and at the same time decreasing the amount of oxygen produced. The second is cruelty for the sake of efficiency. The grinding of baby chickens alive and the ripping away of calfs from their cow mothers for dairy is horrendous to me when we can do without dairy and still have profitable cows. I have been in the position of a farmer and I think that the industrialization and corporatization of farms leads to more inhumane actions (numbers on a spread sheet are easier than having a corporate executive euthanize the animal themselves). I would prefer to leave the economic transaction of buying meat for myself out of my life. In its place I can provide human ends and happy lives for my animals and not contribute to the poor treatment of animals. I value your work not saying anything bad about it. I am curious about how such actions fit into your world view and how you view about these things and maybe I have had something not explained accurately to me as I have only cared for livestock for myself and not for profit. Those are my reasons for not wanting to buy meat at the store and I want to understand your view better. Have a wonderful day.
