Today we'll be exploring who and what exactly is my version of Mecha Sonic! I've been wanting to make a video going into this for a while, pretty much since Doomsday, and we're finally here. I really love this explanation of this Mecha Sonic so much because it makes me appreciate Mecha Sonic even more. You bringing up the AI aspect of Mecha Sonic sorta makes MS feel like he is technology that is somehow always ahead of his time. In a way, I feel like he is a direct parallel & opposite to what Sage is in age and in the lifestyle that they have done for their own lives. Mecha Sonic being more cynical of the world because he was not raised on a ton of data or any data at all to speculate over unlike Sage. Only his purpose while being given superb power and superb AI. Everyone in this point of the classic stories feels like they are just single minded animals to Mecha Sonic. He would feel he is grown and made to be higher than humans, especially since humans made him to be more powerful than themselves. And of course he outlives having to be subservient to Eggman in his life, in BOTH your series and the actual canon. Whether Mecha Sonic is super powered up as a villain or humbled down into a Scrapnik neutral good guy. I really REALLY love the sense of great but still not fully tapped wisdom of the world that Mecha Sonic has with how much of life that he has experienced and many other thoughts that are processing in his digital mind. To me, ideally I see Mecha Sonic as the most human robot in the Sonic franchise when it comes to his level of thought, communication, and growth.

Thanks! Yeah I agree, he is the most human of the bunch due to his advanced AI, but at the same time he’s very far from it. Definitely more human than Metal Sonic, which is more focused on the idea he’s the real Sonic and he can’t cope with the knowledge that he’s just a copy. Most of the data he’s collected upon powering on being mostly negative. Love the way you explained it. And It is interesting to compare him to Sage, as they are both corrupted and flawed in their own ways except that Sage was able to come around to the hero side.

Mecha Sonic is such a complex and interesting villain in your sonic series. All the characters are so complex and layered such amazing work can't wait for more of your content. Love this series.👍👍👍

As someone who’s always been a fan of Mecha Mk. II and his design, it’s cool to see how popular he’s become in the recent years. Even reaching the point to where he’s brought back in the IDW Comics. All of his character interpretations, whether official or fan fiction, have been great as well. This interpretation being no exception. The idea of him being the physical embodiment of AI reaching a point to where it gains human intelligence and becomes self aware is cool, but concerning. Especially since he’s grows to see humanity as a disease or a mistake that must be corrected. Only seeing the bad in humanity.

Yeah, AI being super relevant certainly I think sparked his popularity again as of late, and of course SMBZ being remade. But it certainly would be cool to see Sega have a Metal Sonic with an AI, Neo Metal from the IDW comics is probably the closest thing. But thanks, I appreciate it, I certainly hoped my version of him would stand out in his own unique way

@@soniccreations I highly recommend checking out his character in the IDW Comics with the Scrapnik Island mini series. It’s one of my favorite stories from the comic and his portrayal in it is really solid and an interesting take on him in my opinion.

It's crazy how much SMBZ influenced Mecha Sonic, even when it's not the same version, all whilst saying a couple lines. The idea for your mecha sonic is very interesting!

I remember watching that on Newgrounds as a kid thinking, “Sega take notes! This is an interesting and intimidating villain.” It certainly was a game changer for Mecha Sonic and was an inspiration of mine. I did reference SMBZ with the, “I’ll crush you!” line from Doomsday Ep. 1. It was really just using Cooler lines from DBZ but worked really well at the time.

When will new episodes of sonic cyber next will come out?

Theres two remaining episodes of Cybernetics. Episode 5 will be out in either late September or sometime in October and Episode 6 will be out around February. But the first scene of Ep.5 will be released very soon.

That is technically correct but people typically know Mecha Sonic as Silver Sonic, from Sonic 2. So I think it’s easier just to call him Mecha Sonic. I’m sure my version would really be Mecha Sonic MkIII.
