I agree with Shannon Sharpe. especially coming from someone who has played and won Championships vs someone who is just an analyst and giving his opinion.
Cam had a great tight end and trash wideouts, as a Broncos fan SB50 did not make me nervous because of Harris, Talib, Roby were so much better than Carolina’s WR.
Why do people think Brady has no supporting cast? Watch the games, those slot guys get open all day, Brady doesn’t need an over the top threat he can work underneath. Gronkowski 50% of the time is more firepower than some HOFers had their whole career. Moss, Gronkowski, Welker, Edelman,Amendola, Troy Brown, Branch, the murderer for god’s sake + usually a top 5 Defense and I won’t even go to the stuff swept under the rug. All I am saying is stop bitching, 2013 is one year I thought they were short handed due to injury it happens big deal.
Cam carried the entire team. Brady had--and has always had--the supporting cast that he needs. Also, Cam did all this with Benjamin out for the year. Cam made the Panthers a better team.
@Scarlett O'hara you sound dumb as hell. Do me a favor and go argue with your mom bc you're seriously either trolling or don't have an IQ above avocado if you believe that.
I'm late but Brady didn't have better stats. Mvp is based of stats and somewhat record but Brady might have stats that are better in one area but overall cam has it in the bag
Skip is pathetic, really. He's still trying to celebrate Tebow. Brady cannot compare to Cam in any way. Brady is then. Cam is now. The NFL/QB standard--thanks to Michael Vick and now the amazing Cam Newton. I think Skip looks at the QB in black and white terms.
What do mean Brady cannot compare to Cam in any way? That is the dumbest statement of the year. Skip pointed out that Brady had better stats than Cam in EVERY PASSING STATISTIC. Did you forget about that comparison? Who cares if Newton is a better runner? It is undeniable that Brady is a better passer and that is a way more important quality for today's NFL quarterback.
The NFL is a passing league and recent history has shown that Super Bowl champions are often decided by whether a quarterback can quickly score with two minutes left in the game. When time is of the essence, a running quarterback is a detriment. Do you think Cam Newton could do what Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning and Tom Brady have done in the final minutes of a Super Bowl?
Scarlett O'hara You're right, you can't compare Brady and Cam. One guy has been great for almost two decades, and the other had a flash in the pan one MVP season. One has won 5 Super Bowls and been to 7 and the other has 0 rings. One is a sure fire hall of famer and the other is a slightly above average qb in a qb deprived league. One is the GOAT and the other wouldn't even dive on a fumble in the Super Bowl. There is no comparison between the two.
Of course, Patriots hater Shannon Sharpe says the wrong stats for Tom Brady by saying Brady had 9 interceptions when the displayed number on the TV screen said 6 interceptions. Sharpe has always hated Brady. The difference between Brady and Newton last year was that Brady had a stronger first half and Newton had a stronger second half. If Gronk, Edelman, and Lewis had been healthy for the final 1/3 of the season, Brady would have had a record setting season in passing. Sharpe says you can't base MVP on supporting cast BUT he had just previously said that Brady was less deserving of the MVP because he had the benefit of Gronk. Sharpe is such a hypocrite.
That's one game though Shannon "NOT TOO" Sharpe!!...Cam MVP???....FUCK NO! You giving the nod because you hate Brady....Who's MVP next week Shannon Nick Foles?
I would rather see Gurley win it than Cam Newton!! But watch out because Brady is going to come out and prove why he's the best!! So please NFL give it to flash in the pan Cam!..Skip's analogy is right dead on about the perception of Brady because everyone knows and expects him to be Brady-esque so they give it to someone else who has a break out year.
