I love that you brought up the tamron 20-40mm. Cause I would prefer wider for selfie pictures with friends or vlogging than longer. Cause with a7cii or a7iv you can just quickly put it into Super 35 and still get 4k, or 16MP images and have the equivalent of a 30-60mm. if you need a little longer zoom. You can't go wider with this one, only longer. Nice! Your photography is amazing btw, I've been following you on social a while but I was said WOW out loud when I saw them here. Very dope

Can be a 24-75 in apsc mode 😮 if you have a R series you get 26 megapixels

Thank you for the video. I’ve been considering this lens for my A7CR but since it not available to the public until May I’ve been using the Sigma 28-70/2.8 + 16-28/2.8 DG DN Contemporary pair. I own the full Sony GM II holy trinity that I use on my full size full frame Sony bodies but I really like the reduce weight. I’ve also got the mini G primes but there are definitely times when changing lenses is problematic. Also for me, while the FE 20-70/4 G is interesting I prefer having the extra stop of light. Do you plan to get one? Lots to choose from. Take care.

It’s personal preference really, just depends on how you want to use the camera and the look you’re going for

Nice job. It seems a reason for this lens is to give an alternative to owning the three mini G’s. You’re the first reviewer , that I’ve seen, who points that out. Question. How do you like this compared to the 20 to 70mm f4 on low light able bodies like the FX3? Thanks for the great review.

I appreciate that; I think it’s going to depend on what’s important to the user. Some people don’t like the look of f4 so it wouldn’t be a low light reason they don’t go for that lens, they want the look of f2.8 so they’re willing to sacrifice some range for it. Some people shoot photos at f5.6 or f8 all the time so for them, the range would be more valuable. They both have their place
