Releasing the break foot to the left is faster than lifting the foot I used to place my foot on the left corner of the brake pedal and just swing it out to the left releasing the break.
The truck is a 1962 Chevy because it has the wrap-around windshield and the X frame. The '63 had a wrap around wind-shield, but by then the X frame had been discontinued. It came off the Van Nuys Assembly line.
The original color was Beige code 93-78390. Too bad nobody wants to restore it. It's really odd that it is just sitting on the side of the road. Could have been stolen. The square cut out of the door also makes no sense.
Me & dad saw that truck a few weeks ago. So sad to see an old C 10 abandon on the side of the road.It sure stuck up a old memories. And stuck up a conversation with my dad who is 88 years old. Couldn’t stop talking about his old 65 GMC. I been a subscribe to your channel & watching your videos for about six months now or more. Awesome job you guys. First video of yours I watched was when you guys went to crown dodge to look at the classic cars. I’m a big RU-vid watcher. Your videos I enjoyed a lot. It’s good to watch some good clean content as there’s so much crap videos out there today. Good job you guys keep them coming.
With the mile per hour you run in the quarter, you should be able to run 12.50's . Two recommendations from me would be install no hop bars on the rear-end, they basically raise the instant center of the rear suspension and will eliminate any wheel spin, the second is to get a looser converter, the 4L80E has a large, heavy, tight converter which is holding you back big time. There are plenty of quality converter companies out there, that will make a 2500 to 3000 rpm flash converter and still retain the lockup feature. Good luck on the Tempest, it is a flash back for me and my 67 Tempest .
Some people get it, and others just don't. You have some great cars. I'm in the process of building a 440 for a 69 charger R/T and just found out the block is cracked.
Thats to bad I hope you did not have it built because a guy I know did that bought a 440 out of a junk yard not running and did not bring it to the machine shop to get it checked for cracks and ended up building it and had it in the car and water kept getting in the oil and he thought the head was warped and it turned out there was a crack in the block going fro the coolant to the oil galley and the block was junk. I felt bad for the guy because he spent so much time and money but he did not get the blocked checked out and if you get a block that is not compete then it's really a crap shoot on what your getting.
Dragy is such a great tool. A trick Adam taught me was move the seat forward until "it hurts" to make sure I mat the pedal with ease and can accidentally lift a little. Works great for me. If your Charger comes up missing dont check my garage ok, thanks.... Keep grinding.
I think the mic's are sounding fantastic. That abandoned truck looks like a ton of work, and how funny was it when Danny was trying to put everything back in and it just kept falling out 😂then he gives this look like "damn" I shouldn't have opened the door 😂. Oooohhhh merch is looking 🔥. You two are so cool. Keep up the great videos and don't worry Olivia with that passion of hitting the 12s, you're definitely doing it. Stay blessed guys
1960-62 Chevrolet truck had the front torsion bar and wrap around windshield. 1963 was last of wrap around windshield and first for front coil springs. Also this frame is a 3/4 ton based on 8 lug wheels. Probably has 4.11 or 4.56 rear differential gears. I’m no expert but have loved and owned around 10 60-66 Chevy trucks over the past 20 years and currently have a 65 c10 shortbed stepside.
60to63 Kneeknocker. I had a 60 Apache 20 stake bed truck from Kansas. Cammed 235 with split manifolds 4speed and still had the oil bath breather on it.
I believe in letting old cars/motorcycle show their age. If it's 60 years old, it needs to look it. Every scratch and dent has a story and it should been seen. Build what you want and who cares what others say.
When running at the track, put a camera inside the car to record your foot on the gas pedal during launch. It seems like your leg straightens out too much at full throttle and when your body shifts back at launch, you're pedal is momentarily off "metal". Your knee should still have a little bend when you're floored to ensure the pedal stays floored the whole way down the track.
Outstanding! Practice your launch a few more times before Pomona! I believe you can hold that brake and rev about 1500 rpm without hurting anything or redlighting. Watch some videos of other people launching. You will feel alot more comfortable at take off and shave a few tenths on your time. Pull that air cleaner at the track too! Guaranteed 1 tenth on time slip.
sometimes a truck like that lost any title years ago, the cheapest way to get a new title is to let it get towed, then go buy it at the towing auction. after doing this the title will be free & clear. it's very likely this was a no-title parts truck and when they thought they were completely done with it, they dumped it.
Hello Liv and Danny. Hope you include long sleeve in black! My thoughts on the Charger as well. Maybe satin black w the OG gold on roof? BTW, shouldn’t be any ‘dirty sanchez’ action at your shop. Rob
Cut the "banana" pipes right to were the paint burned off. This is an old trick to "tune" your collectors. Back in the day we took new collectors, painted them flat white and ran the car several times and wherever the paint was burned off to was where you cut them and that will perfectly tune your exhaust to that engine. Thats where the term "tuned headers" comes from.
That is not where the name comes from. Do that to tuned (Resonant Flow) headers on a 2 stroke, and it'll never come on to the power band. TUNED headers require a collector and an expansion volume, often in the same section.
I believe fluid dynamics, volumetric efficiency, and maximization of airflow is way more complicated than simply mapping where the arbitrary combustion temp of some random paint is.
@@PiDsPagePrototypesLast I checked Liv isn't running a 2 stroke 🙄 And the paint trick does work on a 4 stroke engine. Do you know what flows faster than hot air? Nothing except hotter air. Once the paint stops burning the exhaust has begun to cool. Do you know what flows slower than hot air? Cooler air. Is it an exact science? No. But neither is bringing a 2 stroke engine into a conversation about 4 stroke engines.
Usually the light is green before she ever starts to go, she should be starting to move when the light comes on. Drag racing is a mathmatical equazion and most people don't know what they are doing and take them years to build a car that will perform.
The problem here is the Lemans is a heavy car and she don't have low rear gears and she has a high speed 1st gear in the trans, she needs a mustang or dodge dart I think is a lighter weight car and will need 411 or 433 gears and a 350 turbo trans has 3 gears and work well in 1/4 mile.
Check the trucks VIN number, if it comes back no one or not registered any more, file for an abandoned vehicle. Make a short bed out of it, go to coil overs on the front and have fun with it! 😮😊❤❤❤
Geez Danny is the optimal optimist ! The truck has a little RUST ! the whole truck is rusted out missing parts galore, theres a reason it was left on the side of the road like a dead animal remember the Beatles song LET IT BE.
If you want to go faster the first thing is get rid of the 4L80 transmission that thing is heavy and robs tons of HP. Get yourself a 2 spd power glide and watch your time drop and the glide will keep you more in the RPM range that makes the power
This is a public service message: Girlie THROW THOSE DAMN CIGARETTES AWAY!!! Your lungs will look like the rust on the Sanchez truck. My mother buried four husbands and each died from complications due to cigarette smoking. OK, that said, here's hoping for the 12's.
That Charger you talk about you want it like Mike Finnegan's 1968 Death Metal Charger or the General Mayhem Charger. To restore that car it would cost so much because it's missing everything and it's not worth it. I would build it like that too if I had just the bare shell of a car
So. Here's what l had front break lock yes the 60tys 500hp yes wheel spinning burn out watch the yellow launch it bbc 396 cam /B&M400tb/356 posi 7"cheeter slicks/ port heads /MD 30° adv/no vac/holy3310 EBManf/ /12.50s 67 Chevelle SS 396 yes in high school 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎
1962? Chevy 3/4 Ton Long Bed 127" Wheelbase... Nice start to a fixer-upper, but lots to do. I wonder if maybe it was reported stolen and thieves just left it there, who knows... I'd mention this to the Police.
Looks like it may have been a parts donor and they dumped it there I would take it and put a Mopar running gear init so It would be a performance vehicle
To answer the title, someone who stole it, or someone angry at the owner, such as the oft cliched but repeated ex-wife dumping hubby's possessions to see him have nothing and loose that which he enjoys.
