@@cruzinthruspaceyou must not watch anime if you see this and don’t think it’s inspired from that style. Shit, even the actual 90s show showed influence from it.
Actually, a good majority of the animation battle sequences are done by a South Korean animation studio. Most people will associated anime with Japanese studios (since it is a part of that culture) but you are now seeing a lot of anime content produced by non-Japanese studios such as South Korea and China, mainly due to close proximity and also in Europe. An example of such is one studio (The Line Animation studio) whom are not a full-fledged studio. Normally they do a lot of animated promotional content used in commercials and short form visual medium. They are that good.
This episode made me feel so much! Gambit getting his time to shine, losing him right after messed me up then the last line tore me 😢 I PRAY they keep this show alive for many more decades!! This is the best Marvel anything since Endgame. Hands. Down.
of all the x-men franchise animations and live action movies that exist, this episode alone tops all of them. goosebumps, jaw drops, and tears the entire episode.
I refuse to believe he’s gone forever. They might be able to use some time travel devices to bring him, Magneto, and everyone else that got vaporized back to life. I’m not losing hope! ✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻
Wolverine was ready to fight Apocalypse when the baby was coming (Cabel), we see Apocalypse in this episode intro, the rats symbolize one of the 4 horseman of the Apocalypse, Gambit was once a horseman for Apocalypse in the comics... oh yeah, everything is coming together.
Gambit is an Omega level mutant. Sadly he had Mr Sinister remove a part of his brain because he couldn't control his powers. He used to blow things up without even touching them.
Cable knows that's his mom. Established in the original that he knows "about" Cyclone & Jean. Plus he's avoiding eye contact with Madelyn once she feels something different about this interaction. It's when he looks her in the eyes, then, she sees his BROWN eyes. Which, on the astral plain earlier, she asked Scott what he remembers about Nathan, and he answered, that even though he cant see color, "his brown eyes".
Did Leech syphon off Magneto's power and cause him to fail to defeat the Tri-Sentinel or was he powerful enough to mask his powers enough to that the Tri-Sentinel thought he was actually dead?
probably lower his powers. i dont think he got his powers masks and survive the huge blast , nightcrawler almost die and was hit for one second when he was teleporting.
The gambit death scene was soooooo good! Remi was a beast! Love seeing the xmens powers being represented faithfully! This show is the best nostalgia bomb!
There’s no way it was Cassandra Nova who sent the mega Sentinel. Narratively, you need to introduce a character before they do something so monumental as a genocide, not after. It was likely Apocalypse as hinted by the clip of him in the opening credits.
It's has to be Cassandra Nova it explains in the comics that Cassandra Nova sends a sentinel army along with a third head wild sentinel to destroy Genosha, the same 3 head sentinel that we saw in the episode.
Why would Apocalypse use Sentinels to kill his own kind? Y'all do not use logic at all. It ain't Nova either, if anyone paid attention Bastion is coming. Cable didn't say a woman, he said "HE'S coming".
I know what happened in the comics. But this cartoon always takes story arcs from the comics and follows the same narrative beats but changes details around. Prime example is Nathan was infected with the techno organic virus by Apocalypse in the comics but the show had the same event and switched it to Sinister. Again, my point is from a story telling standpoint, you can’t have a major series altering event happen and the cause of it is someone audiences never met before. Imagine if the first time you saw or heard of Thanos in the MCU was after he did the snap offscreen. Apocalypse is just my guess but he has no qualms about killing mutants. He wants everyone to fight everyone, mutants and humans alike, so that only the strongest survive. But it could be Bastion. Although we haven’t fully seen or heard of him yet either, at least we already know about Sentinels so a Sentinel disguised as a human wouldn’t be completely out of left field like Cassandra Nova would be.
Gambit sacrificing himself was heroic and heartbreaking. Realizing Rogue touched Gambit for the first time when Gambit passed away makes it more sad. Honestly, Gambit deserves better. This was a wild episode.
This is my favorite non-Eric, non-Coy Breakroom lineup for Marvel!!! (I mean, R. Kelly jokes...:) and finger-pointing at the Watcher over the slave trade?) Love it when ya'll dissect serious Marvel!!! And this *is* serious Marvel!!! THANKS!!!!
Apocalypse is also a psychic. Why do you think in the OG series Everytime Xavier or Jean tried to read his mind or anyone working for him, they were forced out? Apocalypse put mental barriers in.
Last episode, there was a photo of Forge in uniform between 2 men, one of whom was obscured - a man wearing the same outfit as a villain from the comics called Bastion. His ties to the sentinels and Master Mold feels like it may be relevant to the Genosha attack in this episode.
@@murk4552 What's the timestamp for that? I've been going through the gala section but I can't find any matches for the Bastion's outfit from the photo.
the telepathy snipe that cable does.. its makes sense its cable but unlike what you suggested, jean is the collateral/unintended target as she just gets the garbled vision while Prior gets probably something much clearer as u hear cable warning her.
I think this is the start of theMoira McTaggart timeline reset arch. They have already introduced clones with Madeline Prior. It is not with the special 5 that can bring back mutants in a new body with their memories up to the point they die. It even fits with Sinister being involved.
I don’t think Cable is shook because he recognizes Madelyne, I think it is the contrary, he looks at her that way because she recognizes him for the first time since he’s being sent back to warn them and failing every time. Maybe in other attempts it never clicks for her or he never gets the chance to come close enough.
I was watching through the Jean and Scott conflict just thinking to myself "But Jean and Madelyne are the same person still???" Idk if it was right to be mad at Scott here. Also, it seems like Emma interference might happen soon.
Will call it again: The big bad behind all of this is going to be BASTION. Here's the proof. 1) he was hidden in that pic with Forge last episode. Why cover him up if it's just an Easter egg? 2) like you guys say... all signs point to Mastermold... or a version of Mastermold. Bastion is a super advanced version of Nimrod and Mastermold merged together. 3) Bastion's was introduced as the big bad behind the crossover "Operation Zero Tolerance." The final three episodes have the word Tolerance in the title.
In X-Men The Animated Series in the 90s, Cable went back in time and kidnapped Wolverine and managed to make an antidote to destroy a virus that Apocalypse made. Before destroying the virus, Cable said : “The names Cable, remember it, Apocalypse!” Coincidently, Cable's first appearance in X-Men the animated series was in Genosha when he first met Gambit who escaped from the Slave Island. Cable helped Gambit unlock his collar which allowed him to rescue Storm and Jubliee and the other mutants as well.
I think the Watcher just proves that this is apart of the MCU just a different timeline other than the 616 one. Think about it the Watcher shows up in What If watching over the other timelines and possibilities other than the MCU that we’ve been watching so I think this is definitely another timeline since we are still in the multiverse saga
something not a lot of people know about gambit is that his abilities have a blocker on them as a result of sinister doing experiments on him in his marauder days. as a result he’s considered an alpha level mutant, not omega
I've been telling people that Rogue and Magneto is gross from the start and finally people are listening. Too bad everybody is dead so it doesn't matter. Nothing matters anymore. What an episode.
I feel it’s Cassandra. The rats from the vision could be from the sewer she rebuilt herself in when Charles destroyed her in the womb. That would also show why both Jean and Madelyne had the telepathic attack happen to them.
Gambit is technically a omega level mutant. In the comics, Mr. Sinister operated on Gambit to reduce his powers so they were more manageable. Gambit felt he had too much power to control. It might be the same for 97 Gambit as well
I cried my heart out for this episode!!! These writers are just kicking us in the gut! 'New Sun' is the evil version of Gambit in an alternative universe. New Sun is the omega level of Gambit.
Okay, two things. First, what if... Ha, you see what I did there?... The watcher cameo is setting up for a season 3 episode "what if?". That during this whole Genosha massacre, that there is a completely different story going on in the background in a different show? That, whatever he was doing, had absolutely nothing to do with the show we were watching. 2nd, although I do believe Xavier is going to come back... I think that that this is a continuation of a kids show but for the adult fans... Permadeath could, and probably should be a factor. The utter shock and awe of losing both magneto and gambit at the same time could and should be a powerful motivator the remainder of the group and leaves an opening for the return of Charles. And due to the nature of his injury, this could be an opening for the Onslaught arc.
The term is Flight, Fight or Freeze, most people forget about Freeze. I don't know why but yeah Freezing is part of that saying. Those are the 3 F's not 2 but 3, human nature in times of chaos most of the time have those 3 primary instincts.
1. The "If you don't get Tia..." line was great! 2. The Breakroom opening graphics is great....one observation, it should end with the BR in the same position as the silhouette in the background of the show. Just a recommendation for a show and cast I truly enjoy.
One thing that stuck out to me in the beginning was Cyclops’ mention of the Astral Plane to Jean. If you tie in her first vision you can see what looks to be a ghost like creature in a purple astral plane. Her second vision included rats something found in pipes and sewers. Cassandra Nova originated as a ghost like entity in the astral plane. She was a clump of cells flushed down the sewer, that built herself back up again to appear human. Jean is having visions of the origin of Cassandra Nova
I believe Cooper is Mystique as well, you saw her reaction when they told her Rogue was asked to lead with Magneto. She gave a "But what about me?" Type of reaction.
In the comics , gambit is omega level, he couldn’t control his powers as a young thief and went to Mr sinister to help him and sinister performed a partial lobotomy in order to give gambit not only control over his powers but to cap his powers at that level. When he becomes a horseman of apocalypse his full abilities unlock. Right now gambit can control kinetic energy , the size of the object he charges doesn’t matter but he doesn’t charge sky scrapers because of collateral damage that’s why he dies in the blast. At an omega level gambit can manipulate all energy
I’m so glad I have my therapy tomorrow because I am genuinely grieving right now! What the FUCK! (Yes, an amazing episode and this series is fucking incredible.) Gambit was always my favorite… I AM NOT OKAY. NOPE. Anger, denial… it’s all up in here… fuck off aaaaaa 😭
if Cable resets the timeline two episodes from now, but Storm regains her powers just one episode from now, does this mean that Cable’s reset would rob Storm of her powers again?
Cable won't give up until he creates a good future, and that does seem like something that would have him meet Uatu if it would start affecting worlds.
Honestly… if Rogue was a teen in the 80s and dating a guy in his fifty or sixties? No one would have blinked. Back then that was ‘normal’ as was grooming.
I mean, rats are classic genocide imagery both because they are associated with death and with genocidal propaganda. It could be a bunch of villains, but I Iike the Cassandra Nova idea. Now I think this show would probably update her concept to fold in other storylines and villains. Because of the fact that Magneto is reformed and now dead, I keep thinking of Onslaught. And I think the two concepts could be streamlined by taking aspects from both 'evil' professors X. Either (or some gestalt of both) could have started this as part of a Darwinian plan or a simple powergrab by starting a war between humans and mutants. Timetravel makes me think of Nimrod. It makes sense for an Ultron-like sentinel to come from the future. That's a villain whose MO could easily merge with another supersentinel called Bastion. Ultimately, Apocalypse would still make the most sense because he's the most iconic and connected to the characters that have been central so far. I do not believe this show would reference any live action movies as direct contuinity. It's its own thing.
The was a time in the original series where Madeline Pryor was Jean greys name right before she became the black Queen of the hellfire club. She was being mind controlled by mastermind and I feel like she came our of hospital before that. It was after the phoenix saga and before dark phoenix. Surely that's when the switch happened
