Who's the Scariest? | A DBD Tier List 

I feel like Ghostface would be a tough one for me, because yeah, he's just a dude in a mask, but his entire MO revolves around stalking and being a creep. It seems like he's more into psychological suffering than physical, and I don't deal well with that haha. I think he'd get a bump up on my personal tier for the mental aspect.

One thing about Sadako is that once she’s about to kill you, it’s going to be quick. Her motive is make you mentally suffer, not really physical. Another thing I want to add is that for reason trickster freaks me out. His motions, his laughs, his expressions, they all scare me for some reason so I’d put him in brown pants tier.

Fun fact: the Entity was the one that did that to the Doctor, confirmed a long while back by the devs. It was similar to the hooks and spikes in Trapper, being a sort of disciplinary action against Doctor for defying it.

I feel strongly that Hag should be top tier in real life. The teleportation/surprise like you mentioned, her noises when chasing you, and oh yeah SHES A CANNIBAL

For me, the scariest by far is Myers. Man just be popping up from nowhere or you catch him standing there menacingly, staring 👀 No other killer sparks the fear in me that Myers does. When I load into a game & hear that music, it activates my fight or flight response 😬 Love him though, him & ghostie are my favourite killers to go up against 😅🧍🏻‍♂️👻

Must agree with Dredge. It is an unknown something, I wouldn't even call it a creature because it's not physical at first. The physical parts come from the things it consumes, but the Dredge itself is just a black fog. Not imaginable what would happen if it did consume you, would you die or would something worse happen? You hear those screams everytime he attacks. The Dredge is similar to a Dementor almost, but less physical. It consumes all you have ever been and what you would ever become, probably your soul is trapped within that thing... forever. Edit: Even his lobby and chase music scream pure Terror, an unknown Terror

I think the dredge scares me the most the crying sounds give me goosebumps and don’t get me started on that baby skin it has

Little late but I think of Plague's Corrupt Purge not as acidic, and this is going to be gross to say, but I imagine you take damage because you're getting hit with like, chunks of her coming out as she vomits. Literally vomiting out pieces of herself to hit you with. Not as scary as it being acidic but it is definitely more gross.

Pretty much accurate, Yeah. I would like to add a little fact here and there for Two favorite killers of mine, Though. When it comes to trickster, I don't think Ji-Woon Hak gets enough credit for how Unsettling of a character he actually is. A lot of people look at him and go "Kopop joker, Not scary-looking," but... That's kinda the point. Trickster is more about Implicit horror than Explicit. Dredge is right in your face with how Monstrous and scary he is, But trickster...Trickster's subtle. The hint is in his moniker. He's not just a flashy showman, but a Wolf in sheep's clothing too. He'll deceive you, Lure you in, Thinking he's just a Nice guy that loves his fans....And then, You wake up tied to a chair, Alone with Ji-Woon in a warehouse, Blades drawn and Recorder going, Nobody for miles around to hear You, or save you. And Ji-Woon is NOT going to make your death quick, To him that'd spoil the fun. He craves the shrieks of his victims, So he's going to produce as much pain as he can to get every last Wail out of you until your vocal chords give out, Cackling with mad glee all the while. Even his chase music Can kind of represent How Sinister trickster is, With that lullaby putting you on edge, telling you that... Something is very wrong. It lets you know that No matter how he looks, Ji-Woon Can't be trusted. Along with that Is the electronic noises Giving off the mental image of malfunctioning musical equipment and burning Wires, And the loud Wailing sirens That can not only be used To represent the fire that killed his former band mates in NO SPIN, but also represent the Screams of his victims...The same screams you'll be making if you get caught. The frantic nature of His terror radius also pinpoints just how Much danger you're in with Ji-Woon Nearby. It's that same sort of panic you get when You're hiding in a locker in Outlast, mere INCHES away from your potential murderer. Sure you could possibly beg for your life, But it won't do much, It might even make him more excited to kill you. Then, There's The Knight, Tarhos Kovacs. Tarhos is a different Character all together. Weakness just draws his wrath. He knows no mercy, Nor pity for anybody he deals with. And what's scary about him, As pixel bush pointed out, Is that Tarhos's Malice is extremely..."Impersonal." Tarhos isn't looking for revenge or anything on a personal level, He just sets his sights on something and Does it with no Regard for who he hurts or why. Tarhos doesn't care about who you are or what you have to say. If your suffering benefits him, Then you will suffer, and How much you have to suffer is inconsequential to him. If you get in his way, You'll be disposed of in kind. And the only hope you have of preserving your life is if you can Offer Tarhos Something better than what he actually wants. Which in the entity's realm, I doubt That can be managed. Not to mention, His Guardia compania (Guard Company) Are ruthless and capable of their own Sadism. Pain and humiliation go hand in hand With Tarhos and his Comrades. They'll use anything they can to get what they want from who they want. And they are RELENTLESS. If Tarhos wants you dead for whatever reason, There's no ifs ands or buts, You're dead, and there's nothing you can do about it. And those he deems Weak and Insignificant, only serve as catalysts to Make his wrath worse. Because of that, Tarhos and Trickster are on another level of Terror as far as profiling goes.

Myers is way too low. Myers is described in the first film by Loomis, his Doctor, as pure evil. Someone with no emotions, no compassion, nothing, He is literally unstoppable and he will fuck with you and make you paranoid until next thing you know you’re dead in whatever brutal way he decides he’s gonna kill you. And no matter how much you hit and fight back you can’t kill him, only delay the inevitable. The Halloween series basically portrays him as the embodiment of evil itself.

as a dredge main I completely agree. i think that out of all the killers, the dredge was designed solely with terror in mind. certain killers prey on certain fears, a lot of them are just cool concepts with a horror twist on them. but the concept of dredge? it's so clear that the devs were trying to make something that preys on your most primal of fears just the way your suppose to play dredge alone is scary. it can by anywhere at any time, communication between survivors be damned. you never feel safe, you will never get much warning before it's suddenly right behind you. when you try to loop dredge and vault the pallet, it's suddenly right infront of you and your impaled by that horrifying looking weapon, your only option is to just run away, but if you happen to go near a locker then bam, it's right infront of you again. your periodically plunged into near complete darkness, and if you don't know the map then you just have no idea where to go, if your safe, if it's near and already seen you. you can't even hide in lockers, your only safe space has been denied. you can try to lock them but just pray that it's not right there to snatch you up and that's just the gameplay. it's looks, the sounds of both suffering wails and monstrous breathing, and it's lore, all of it is just horrifying. it's this ancient, unknowable creature that preys on your fears. it can sense your dark thoughts and there's nothing you can do before your pulled in and you become nothing but another voice crying out inside it

In the original Japanese movie, Sadako barely makes an appearance and there are very few horror elements. Tbh it was more like a detective movie

True Crime talk, don’t read if you don’t want to hear about real life inspirations for killers: Clown and Ghostface go up quite a few tiers for me because they’re based partially on real life killers John Wayne Gacy and Danny Rolling. Yeah, the clothing makes them look a little less human, but knowing what I know of those men and their crimes and I think I’d prefer demogorgon because then I would just be food and not a plaything. Same goes for Doctor but he’s already high tier for scare and pain factors alone

Brown pants.... Deadpool, I get it XD. Ghostface and Myers can still jump scare me. Stealth gets me almost everytime. Anything that makes me oblivious is probably scarier than being exposed. When I first started playing and the terror was fresh, Oni would really scare me. His yell across the map gave me chills. But now I just think he's cool. His minotaur skin is awesome. Now Pyramid Head doesn't scare me. I'm an absolute simp. Yes I'll shamefully admit I'm a part of "That" community XD. He get's all my items and so far 5 have let me go, more than any other k1ller. But for sheer horror factor, Dredge takes the cake. Nightfall is the worst! I pretty much agree with this list. Awesome content as always!

I would have put pyramid head up to #1 to #2 scariest only because in games he practically immortal, but more so because in one of my first games of DBD, a pyramid head player had me literally terrified as I knew nothing about him and was soon dead as the last remaining and 5 gens left. Left me shivering with fear even now.

I basically think that the only one I’d think I’d stand a chance against is Legion. The rest of them? End me now.

Hehe bro you must have not played vs a good ghostface. From personal experience I think his physical appearance isnt scary - but his gameplay style is what makes him one of the scariest to go up against.

I would say same thing about The Dredge but IT looked like final form version of The Oni. Those killers has something that other dont have. That’s I am trying to say.*

I don’t think them “just being human” is a reason to not really mark them as the most terrifying. Anyone coming at you trying to kill you is terrifying to me and the only people that could probably stand there ground against them are people who have self defense or combat skills. Overall majority would get killed by the ones who are just human. Like both Michael Myers and The Trickster have to be over 6’5 their tall as hell ain’t no way I’m taking them down. 🗿

Dredge is the only killer that made me scream while playing I never knew he came out so when I was playing agasint him I had no idea what his power was and when the whole world went dark and he popped up on my screen I simply turned the game off

I think I would swap Hag and Spirit. Spirit is terrifying, but I think she has a human enough appearance for me to not feel as much fear. But if I stepped and all of a sudden some hissing humanoid monster with the full intentions of eating me appeared, I could only hope I would die of shock before I experienced whatever monstrous shit was gonna go down

In my opinion bubba should be higher because he got a limp for a few seconds after having a chainsaw go through his leg, he also is fast while holding the chainsaw catching up with a teen. Bubba is also extremely strong

for me hillybilly and bubba are top tier, i just have a big fear of guys wirh chainsaws. i think i watched texas chainsaw massacre as a kid and it traumatises me still today :(

It's clear from your very first entry that you've done this tierlist without doing your lore research. Anyone who knows anything about the lore would place Clown in the top tier - not necessarily because he's 'scary', but because of what he will do to you when he catches you. I'd rather just be run through with a knife by Myers than be r***d, tortured and then killed by Clown. I would gladly leap lovingly into the arms of any other killer in the game than get within a mile radius of Clown.

Pig would be scariest in the real world to me, Jigsaw is a petty vengeful torture professional/mass murderer

Off the cuff without watching the video. Pinhead, Dredge, Then Pyramid Head. Nearly every other killer just wants to kill you and it stops there. Pinhead tortures your soul. Dredge just absorbs you?? Dunno how much of you is left in there. Pyramid head is almost similar but (In lore) if you face your sins you are "Fine?"

Gotta add in what they do to you after death is the additional factor for me. Luckily Kayako isn't in DBD... Yet, but Nemesis, Dredge, and Pinhead. Then there the Dirty Killers... Bubba, Freddy and Clown *Shivers at Clown and Freddy* They touch you in ways that would be damning to the soul I'm just saying. *cough* they going in dry Gotta say Pinhead or Dredge.

I disagree with what you said about trickster and pig. Trickster is dude with a very lethal bat that would crack ya with one hit and incredible accuracy with long ranged projectiles whereas pig has to get you to slam a reverse bear trap on your head and she sucks with stealth. I'm sorry but ROARING BEFORE YOU ATTACK IS THE STUPIDEST DECISION YOU COULD MAKE. I reckon that you can just turn and kick her in the chest/fight back and NOT Trickster cause of his deadly accuracy with throwing knives and spiked bat with brass knuckles attached to it (polished head smasher). Therefore trickster goes to just run away and pig goes to terrifying 👍.
