Who do you think should be the next Tory leader?
As the inquiry begins into their election defeat, attention is turning to who will take over from Rishi Sunak. He's said he will stay on until arrangements are in place to find his successor.
Nobody has put themselves forward yet - although former Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has apparently ruled himself out.
But let's just have a look at some of the names in the frame...
Kemi Badenoch is one of the front-runners.
She actually ran for leader after Boris Johnson's resignation and came fourth. She held the role of business secretary under Rishi Sunak but has also served as minister for women and equalities - getting some attention for her views on trans rights.
Suella Braverman - the former Home Secretary is expected to put herself forward. She also ran in the contest to replace Boris Johhnson. Late last year she was sacked as home secretary after accusing the police of political bias over pro-Palestinian marches.
Priti Patel is also expected to join the race. She was home secretary under Boris Johnson - in which time she signed the controversial deal to send asylum seekers to Rwanda.
James Cleverley - apparently he's very 'well liked', which can be important. Former Foreign Secretary - he has served in the cabinets of Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak - so could be a popular contender.
Other possibles include:
Victoria Atkins - she spent little more than 6 months in Cabinet as Health Secretary before the election...
Tom Tugendhat is the outgoing security minister - he's seen as being on the centrist wing of the party, which could prove a problem with more right-leaning party members.
Robert Jenrick - who was the immigration minister who resigned because he felt the Rwanda plan didn't go far enough.

You r delusional and Ignorant if u think kemi and James Cleverly will be conservative leader. Racist British public will never vote them as PM ( because they feel unrepresented by Black or brown skin ) Choose white colour British to be Conservative leader. Atleast this thing should be clear.

Conservative Party needs to take time to identify market segments / groups of the electorate - their needs and wants. To analyse the perceived positioning on the political spectrum of the current parties. The Conservative Party needs to define its values and what it wants to stand for going forward. It is not about leader, it's about competitive positioning.

It's great to see über Tories Vanessa Feltz and Christo Foufas get their undergarments in a twist over the inconsequential question as to who should lead a defeated Conservative Party. This is such a great example of Tory naval gazing.

Badenoch too aggressive. Braverman is insane. Patel highly suspect individual. Cleverly - maybe. Jenrick gone too far right.

Tories should have focused more on the cost of living crisis. They did this to themselves and opened the door for the far Right. Struggle always leads to a more extreme view. Be it Left or Right.

So many wants to be Tory leader, with 121 MP's, a small number of supporters can swing it. Tories are becoming a party of jokers, Braverman, Patel and Badenoch, what a poor choice? After one Brown guy can't imagine the Tory members will vote for them, The best person right now would be Jeremy Hunt, but he doesn't want, don't blame him.

Won't be long before Jenrick, Patel and Braverman jump to Reform. Cleverly would be a good choice and keep Badenoch and Tugendhat in the Shadow Cabinet with important positions ready for 2029 and 2034. Very unlikely Torys will win in 2029 so don't want to waste Badenoch and Tugendhat at this stage.

Badenoch may be the favorite, but she has hot head and being a opposition leader you have to have a cool head, and Bade is not.

Is this the best the Conservatives can offer? None of these candidates will resonate with the average member of the public. You need someone relatable and understands how the working class live and struggle.
