I worked with his mother that year. When she returned, she brought the best cheesecake I've had in my entire life. We had to wait for the show to air before seeing the results. Her lips were sealed. Good times. Hi Carmelle.
@@kitarofan87 I was just going off memory. It seemed like we had to wait 2 or 3 months before it actually aired. I don't know the exact date that it was recorded.
Unlike the British version, the US version contestants have to pay tax on their winnings. In the British version, all cash prizes are tax free, you win £1 million, you keep that £1 million in full!
@@TheHutchIsOnin Vietnam, If you win gameshow With prizes over 100 million VND, you will have to pay 10% tax. Including lottery, gameshow,... It is personal income tax
This is Joe Trela's original run on the American WWTBAM show & Joe is the third contestant (in the U.S.) to win the $1 million prize. 🇺🇲 🇺🇲 This is from the March 23, 2000 episode during the primetime version on ABC (United States).
Wow. Used 2 lifelines on one question and then didn’t even pick the answer his brother recommended. Impressive he went the remaining 5 questions with no lifelines.
Really annoying that Regis didn't ask him why he ignored his first instinct "Reggie Jackson", and his brothers guess "Reggie Jackson", especially when the 50/50 left Jackson standing. Strange.
I think that’s the running gag for the show since after the $32k question you have a pitch black studio, lights only on you and the host, and suspense music blasting through the speakers 😂 so it’s designed to stress a person out hence them drinking the water and the audience laughing.
9:18. Regis: Okay. "Which baseball player has played in the most number of World Series games?" "Reggie Jackson Yogi Berra Mickey Mantle Pee Wee Reese." 10:45. Joe: "Which baseball player has played in the most number of World Series games?" "Reggie Jackson Yogi Berra Mickey Mantle or Pee Wee Reese." 12:28. Regis: If u miss here, you'll lose fifteen thousand, leave with one. Joe: Mm-hmm. Regis: But if u get it, you'll leave-- u can't leave with less than thirty-two thousand dollars. 13:39. Joe: Let's-- let's go ahead & let's, pick B. Regis: You're gonna pick B? Joe: Yeah. Regis: Yogi Berra is going to be your final answer? Joe: Yeah, I think so. Yes. Regis: Yogi Berra...is the right answer!
