Regarding why it says he/she - I added that because I figured many people would be frustrated due to the possibility of there ever being a female president. Obviously, I did not anticipate that adding it would have an even bigger negative reaction. I apologize if this meaningless error offends you in some way, but if this what you take out of the video then I must resort to calling you a hot-tempered politcal fool which is what 90% of Americans are on both sides. @@scholaroftheworldalternatehist You'd be surprised the Grandchildren of the 300 in 480BC were fighting in the Peloponnesian war and were rubbing elbows with Socrates and Plato. Plato's student Aristotle taught Alexander the Great who went on to unite the entirety of Greece for basically the first time and conquer a good chunk of the Mediterranean. The Punic wars only happened about 60 years after that and those flared up and died down 3 times over a century. Julius Caesar was born only 50 years after that and was assassinated at the age of 56. Jesus Christ was said to have been born about 4o years after that during the reign of only the first (official not counting Caesar) Roman emperor and was said to have been executed during the reign of the second Emperor Tiberius. That's a period of about 500 years of just the Mediterranean and it's packed with events. Many famous people we still talk about today were living at the same time or missed each other by only a few decades or centuries. It seems there is a major event in a region of the world once every 2 or 3 generations. Or about 50 years.
@@alexparker5127 Alexander didn't unite Greece, his father Philip II did and he would've conquered Persia had he not been assassinated. And at the battle of thermopylae yes there were 300 Spartans along with 6700 other Greek troops.
@@alexparker5127 No, actually I wouldn't be surprised that the grandchildren of the 300 were fighting in the Peloponnesian and rubbing arms with Socrates, because that's literally the basis of assassins creed odyssey. Lmfao.
Weird how Grover said that and FDR ended up being the longest reigning president we ever had if I’m not mistaken, and I’m pretty sure it was because he was a great one too.
Fun fact: The first U.S. president and Revolutionary War hero was an enthusiastic dog breeder, particularly of hunting hounds, to which he gave names like “Sweet Lips” and “Drunkard.”
This video made me realize Joe Biden, who came into office in 2021, is older than a president who came into office almost 30 years earlier. Man Biden is old
And Biden was born during the FDR presidency and FDR was born during the Arthur presidency and he was born during the Jackson presidency and he was born during the reign of king George III so Biden is only 4 degrees of sepereation or 4 political generations away from pre American society
well you also have to put into account that FDR presidency lasted for nearly 16 years as opposed to the rest who averaged between 4-8 years. Edit: Had FDR not died and finished his fourth term, Clinton, 'Dubyah', and Trump would have been born in his presidency. Bunch of baby boomers right there lol.
@@Campeon99 you are free to believe what you want. Or you can research Harrison Ruffian Tyler and see that, at least according to Wikipedia, for what it is worth, he is very much alive. Harrison's brother Lyon did pass away in September 2020 at 95.
Biden was born while FDR was president. FDR was born when Arthur was president. Arthur was born when Jackson was president. We are literally just a few presidents away from the OGs. That’s insane. As soon as we get a president born while Nixon was in office, we have us a direct link back to good ‘Ol Georgie himself.
Interesting that the first president born when there was a president was Tyler, and the last president born when there wasn't a president was Taylor. I'll file that away in the "weird trivia that's unlikely to ever come up" folder.
All presidents born in the 18th century were born when kings George II & III were on the throne. Our heads of state change much slower than US presidents ofc Edit: The first 17 presidents were born during the reign of either George II or III (1727-1820)
King George II for the first 5, King George III for Quincy Adams, Jackson and WH Harrison, and various Articles of Confederation presidents for Van Buren and Taylor
I would have put None (British Colonies), or None (Confederated Government) for the handful born during the period of the Articles of Confederation. Maybe use British and "Betsy Ross" flags to represent them visually.
0:39 although no one was president when Van Buren was born, he was the first president to be born in the United States rather than the 13 colonies. He was born after the declaration was signed.
For all Americans' grousing about Boomers, we seem awfully hesitant to elect Gen-Xers and younger as President. (Cue the responding grousing about millennials...) Yes, Obama was technically a Boomer (born 1961), but punk rock and video games were out and about by the time he was in high school. Meanwhile the Beatles debuted stateside when his immediate predecessor and successor were seniors in high school. And the Beatles weren't even known throughout the entire UK when his VP was a high school senior.
This is cool i liked but you got Dwight Eisenhower wrong Dwight Eisenhower was born in Benjamin Harrison terms He was born in 1890 and Benjamin Harrison was president from 1889-1893.
Reagan lived through 14 presidencies before becoming #40. He was born when the 27th president was in office. He died during the 43rd presidents term. That is 17 presidents. Impressive.
In my country we right now loosing people, who lived their lives under the rule of only one president (There actually was second one (2008 - 2012) but nobody cares)
@@nick72486 are you in russia or Ukraine? It's so sad what's going on there. I think I still have family that didnt move here yet from the original family. They lived in what was part of the russian empire. Near the city of dnipropetrovsk. Putin has been in charge for 20 years.
2 of the early Presidents were born during the time the Articles of Confederation were in effect, and they were born when there was a US President in office, since there was such a position, even though it was very different in duties.
@@allanroberts5689 , President of Congress I believe. It's not like the current Presidency is done. It's just the closest approximation of executive power to the current version under the Articles that they had.
Exact title was "President of the United States in Congress Assembled". Note the first 5 words. I mentioned it was very different from the current office. Also, a number of countries have a parliamentary system and also have a mostly ceremonial President who has little or no executive authority, so that's not really relevant.
@@albertoswald8461 The "President of the United States in Congress Assembled " was the official title of the presiding officer of the Congress. He was not an executive of any kind, but equivalent to today's Speaker of the House of Representatives and President of the Senate. Equating this to today's chief executive the President of the United States is misleading and inaccurate.
@Kevon Davis The US has a history longer than most European countries actually. The US gained independence in 1783. Germany was created in 1871. Russia and all other former socialist republics were founded in 1991. Serbia and Montenegro were created in 2006. Italy was created in 1871. Austria was created in 1955. Switzerland was founded in 1848. France was founded in 1792. Spain in 1978. Greece in 1821. So on and so forth.
@Kevon Davis In the Treaty of Paris (1783), the American War of Independence was resolved and the Kingdom of Great Britain officially recognized the United States as a sovereign nation.
@@whishiwhooshi5783 the countries age isn't the same as its history, for example, if France was founded in 1792 then does that mean that the french revolution didn't begin in France and that louis 14 wasnt the king of France?
Woodrow's Wilson was born in 1856 meaning Franklin Pierce was still President Dwight D. Eisenhower was born in 1890 meaning Benjamin Harrison was president Richard Nixon was born before March of 1913 meaning Taft was still President
It always astonishes me how old Biden is lol. Born during the second world war. Not sure how long he is going to be able to do the job for because of his age, like, can he handle a second term if he gets re-elected? I hope that he remains healthy while in office (and for a long time.)
the stress of presidency will probably kill him if not immensely age him...i mean look at the presidents when they became pres and after their final term
He's already quite unhealthy. He refused to do cognitive tests, he had three anyeurisms in his thirties and his face has been pretty much restructured in the past 10 years. On top of the fact that he often shows signs of dementia now. I'm sure his body could go on for quite a long time, but his brain seems to be struggling
Plenty of early rock stars, though. Elvis, Buddy Holly, the Everly Brothers, the Beatles*, Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, James Brown, Mick Jagger*, Keith Richards*, and Jimi Hendrix (he was actually a week younger than Joe Biden), and Jim Morrison. I was about to add Johnny Cash to this list, but then I found he was born in 1932. Yes, the Man in Black was actually 3 years older than Elvis, despite the popular impression of Elvis being the first major rock star. Meanwhile Ike Turner, who arguably recorded the first true rock song (1951's "Rocket 88"; he once said he was making records when Elvis was still driving delivery trucks), was born in 1931. And Bill Haley, who recorded another candidate for first rock song (1954's "Rock Around the Clock"), was born during the Coolidge Administration in 1925. Yes, in just 3 years a rock star would be 100 had he lived (he tragically died in 1981). And meanwhile, only one US President to date was born after the release of "Rocket 88". * Yes, I know they all are/were British, but they were all born during the reign of King George VI (Elizabeth II took the throne in 1952).
I would have just included a blank picture on the right for the first few presidents that were born before the US Constitution - such as #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 12
@@steamstream777 yeah because we were under british rule until 1776. I guess the president of the continental congress from 1776 to 1787 would have also worked for the time until the constitution was drafted.
You’ve got the second oldest government in the world (first is San Marino). Europe can’t go five minutes without having a revolution of invading a neighbouring country so their nation states are mostly all pretty new.
To a point, I agree, but there also comes a point where they become out of touch with a society that has changed so much in their lifetime, and it should be noted that whether or not one has something as serious as dementia, mental decline is inevitable once you get up there in years. And I’m not just referring to Joe Biden when I say that.
@@ballistichorse6221 I think you should have to take a mental wellness test but age shouldn’t matter. If the people deem a candidate to be out of touch then they wont vote for them.
2:07:WHEN THOMAS WOODROW WILSON WAS BORN(DECEMBER 28,1856),THEN WAS FRANKLIN PIERCE AS PRESIDENT. 2:35:WHEN GENERAL IKE WAS BORN,THEN WAS BENJAMIN HARRISON AS PRESIDENT. 2:48:WHEN RIHCARD MILHOUS NIXON WAS BORN,THEN WAS WILLIAM HOWARD TAFT AS PRESIDENT.
since half this video is 'no one' it might be more interesting if for the first presidents you listed the king of England, since strictly speaking he was the head of state over America before America existed. also: not a single president was born during the civil war. Makes some sense, but still interesting.
I have a small quibble concerning Martin Van Buren and Zachary Taylor. They were born in 1782 and 1784 respectively. This is while the Articles of Confederation, the precursor to the Constitution, were in effect. There were presidents under the Articles, although I can't remember their names. To be precise you should say Presidents under the current Constitution!! Sorry, I know it's kind of fussy but I hate confusion!!
@@ICBsTurf , There are differences but I'm not an expert at it. Running on my creaky memory here!! They were more like Presidents of Congress but are the closest thing to an executive authority that we had between 1781 when the Articles came into effect and 1789 when the current Constitution started with GW, etc.
Yeah you're not the only one who has said that. William Henry Harrison looks like Harrison Ford and his grandson, Benjamin looks like Tom Hanks (to me at least)
Martin Van Buren was born during a presidency. That of Elias Boudinot. 2nd President of the Continental Congress. Taylor was born during the presidency of Boudinot's successor, Thomas Mifflin.
