@@Thirdleg4saleGod gives us free will. Unfortunately men sin, and the grace of God in others hearts like this woman helps others . He's not a controlling God. He's a loving God, He proved it by dying in our place for that sin. Men (and women of course)control and subjugate people for their own gratification and greed. Thats mans doing not God. But we can pray for people.

I really don't know what to think, in all honesty. But that probably has to do with the still present divide North and South. And the absence of an apology for that war. War veteran and all.

Everyone who lives in America and thinks they had it rough and us that as an excuse to live disreputable lives and make poor choices for themselves and society should watch this. This wonderful and amazing woman is so incredibly inspiring. She makes me say thank you for all the good things I have and realize the bad things in my life were not really that bad.

Your story of your gifted son really resonated with me. That's why I started support groups for gifted children and their parents. Schools for gifted children are desperately needed in all countries but not until educators know how to teach them. I am so happy to see this update. She is a very warm, brave woman.

I want to give you a big hug and let you cry on my shoulder. Your story is so sad but also inspiring. I'm proud of my country, the United States, but I also feel sad for our failure to free North Korea. We still owe the people stuck in the North every effort for their freedom. I had 2 uncles who fought in the Korean Conflict. They passed away several years ago but both were proud to have served in Korea.

OUR failure to do WHAT NOW??? You are aware why we don’t go in and try to free the people right? I mean are you kidding me? So we should risk a nuclear war to try to free people in another country? And why is it OUR fault?. South Korea is right there so why don’t they try to free them? Aren’t they related to the North Koreans? Japan is also right there why haven’t they tried? How about the Europeans? Why haven’t they tried????? The Australians? Or how about the Africans? The US is not the police of the world and we don’t OWE anyone ANYTHING. Understand that.

Kim Jeong Ah reminds me of my grandma. She escaped North Korea when she was 20 and couldn't go back due to the trauma of losing everyone in her family. When she was 73, my sister graduated college and my family took her to South Korea because she majored in foreign affairs and Korean. My grandma went too, and it was her first time back. Up until the year before they all went, my grandma FORGOT how to speak or understand Korean, and my sister basically retaught her. By the time she died, my grandma could speak fluently again and didn't have to use English subtitles when watching her Korean dramas. Jeong Ah also reminds me of her because she rarely ever talked about the painful life she had and what it was like leaving everything behind. But she always laughed and told us how proud she was of her kids and grandkids. Brainwashing in a dictatorship really is crazy.

I'm a grown manly man, but this woman's story brings tears to my eyes. The pain and the difficulties she has to endure which had her cursed her own birth parents not knowing their situation until she found out later when she ended up in the same situation, she portrays courage, strength, and a strong will to live life to the fullest. This woman and so many others who escaped their hard conditions are very inspiring and I can only wish them the best of luck and future success. Also hope the millions that are in her conditions in North Korea and other countries are able to escape and find happiness in friendly countries. May she and others like her live a very fulfilling and prosperous lives and much success.

I saw her first episodes like this when she had just arrived in America. And how shocked she was and how pained she felt for the lies she'd been indoctrinated with about America. The shock she felt at all the food available for anyone. She was especially stunned and relieved besides the respect she received at the military base she was visiting as a Defected N.K. Officer and how our military treated her with compassion, respect, and empathy for her situation. I am so glad and happy she has continued to do well. Cheers!

Human contact and empathy is one of the first things lost in a totalitarian state like North Korea where you are no more than property of the State. All true emotion and love is reserved for the Great Leader. People can see their relatives and neighbors taken off to prison or eliminated will little emotion but fear for themselve and their own loss. but when the Great Leader dies the emotion, though forced, is overwhelming even despite of the cruelty he represented.

It's just such a beautiful story that you were able to get away from such oppression. At the same time it is horribly sad that so many of your countrymen and women in North Korea are being subjugated to the whims of a tyrant, that won't even allow humanitarian aid to help the people who are starving and working in slave labor camps. You are a testament of the good in human nature. Good bless.

I can relate to her upbringing because my family was like the same. No physical contact and us kids were actually pitted against each other. Every few years my mom would tell me she loved me but I don’t ever recall my father saying it 🤷‍♂️. It messes with your mind and ruins your psyche.

So hard to accept life is such a crap shoot. She looks so rigid and tough and strong. Kind of shocked to hear how quickly she learned to appreciate physical affection from Americans. Would think that might take years and years. But I guess everyone needs love. I know people are so afraid of leading people on sexually nowadays, and I totally understand that. But a kind gesture and some platonic kindness can go along way in helping people's mental health, I think.

I've been watching these videos for awhile. The subtitles are sometimes impossible to follow. Long sentences will appear for seconds, followed by a short sentence that is delayed enough for you to look at the speakers face. The speaker needs to slow down and the editor needs to consider that Korean is not always as subtle a language as English.

Madame, I ask you to forgive your Mother. Mothers are the best invention of World history. No matter the circumstances, she gave you life, carried you nourished you with her own body. That said she was a human being and being a human being she highly likely made a huge mistake. My guess at her death bed that she regretted giving up her child.
