I just recently started watching your content. I started with some of your older stuff and I remember being skeptical when you weren't all in on fruits. I was thinking the same things you just pointed out here: plants *want* us to eat fruit! That's why they make it! Fast forward to now and you're on the fruit train -- doubly so because you've seen positive results after adding it. It's just awesome to see someone truly experimenting without any dogma or attachment to anything other than results. I myself am adding in fruits because I just can't manage the heart palpitations, nor is my body acclimating to a zero carb lifestyle with regard to gastrointestinal health - I've had diarrhea for nearly 5 weeks now (which I'm sure contributes to the palpitations), and I'm hoping fruit will ameliorate that issue as well.

Salt and water intake are an important factor, too, which are not discussed very much. Most people drink too much water and don't eat enough salt.

We can't eat rice, beans, animal meat right away. Only fruit allows us to pick and eat. Whether some people can survive without it doesn't negate the fact that it is literally a perfect food, DESIGNED by our creator to nourish us and also TASTES GOOD. In Genesis, God gave us fruit as food. The animals were friends, not food. So it was our first diet, yes surviving on a diet without fruit is unnatural. This leads me to wonder how many digestive variations have cropped up across different cultures. I'm Korean and as far as I'm aware my ancestors ate rice, vegetables, fish, and kimchi for thousands of years. I don't see much data for which diet was healthier.

I would imagine it absolutely must have some role. This is what got me into a carnivore diet. I was watching a documentary on the Indo-Europeans and archaeological evidence says they consumed mostly meat and dairy. I am of Northen European heritage and switched to eating strictly meat and cheese and have felt amazing. My ancestors have been eating mostly meat and cheese way longer than we’ve been eating grains. For example…I carry the genetic enzymes that allow me to digest dairy. This wouldn’t work for everyone because most of the world is lactose intolerant. If someone from Japan or Rural Africa consumed large amounts of dairy, I would imagine it would not be too kind to their stomachs. So for people of Asian ancestry to be able to absorb certain nutrients from certain foods (I.e seaweed) makes perfect sense.

Honeydew melon and oranges are some of the best bang for your buck fruits as far as nutrition goes. Lots of folate, B vitamins, potassium, etc. Great sources of Thiamine/B1, which is hard to get enough of on an all meat diet, especially if you cook your meats, since heat easily destroys B1. Oranges have lots of calcium for those who can’t do dairy as well. Eat oranges/Vitamin C fruit with at least 15g of gelatin/collegan to improve/build up your joints (a good study supports this). So I have problems with binging. That's why carnivore works for me, I don't get on that loop to overeat, you can only eat so much meat lol. If i were to buy fruit or eat honey i think it'd push me over the edge🤷‍♀️ I used to buy sea salt then switched to Himalayan as I thought sea salt might have more toxins? Anecdotally, when I was eating a ketogenic diet I used to have the heart palpitations and could not sleep but on carnivore I don't seem to have those issues. I hope one day to be able to eat 'normally' again.

I mean like only 2-3 times did it actually happen. I've had days that they plagued me for the entire day no matter what I did. I've been in the hospital more than one time in complete fear because they did not subside. Additionally, the restless legs and crapping feet issue that I've dealt with are no longer issues.

It's ok to change your views when new information becomes available. As he said, after a period of time in full keto, he started to have problems. Adding fruit solved those problems. I think if he were to distill his advice to something everybody could use, he'd say: don't use his results, use his process. Just because he eats meat and fruit doesn't mean that everybody should. Many people can likely eat leafy greens without issue as well. His process is that if there's a problem you can't solve, remove things from your diet and see if *that* solves the problem.

I currently eat meat and blueberries easing back into carnivore after experimenting with many things, Blueberries were the only thing that does not make me crave all the crap food carbs.
