Will AI Kill video editing as a career path? As someone who has edited for over 20 years, I share my take on why I think AI won't replace editors who really know their stuff. If you are filming mostly by yourself, editing most of your content for clients directly, my video production business model has many similarities to yours. If you are just getting into video and wondering if this is one of the industries that will be taken over by AI, I think you will find what I have to say on it valuable.

beside the AI, I'm struggling to find job opportunities since covid, here in italy. Very hard to keep working, everything changed.

I am sorry to hear this. Thank you for sharing. For years I would approach businesses that weren't even necessarily looking to make videos and pitch them an idea for a video I would like to make them at a discounted rate because I was so excited about the executing the concept and amped about their product. If I had to convince more, I explained I wanted the excuse to have it as a portfolio piece as well but had to charge at least "X" rate to free up a slot on the calendar to do so and still cover my overhead expenses. I very rarely have to reach out now, other than filling a gap if large project cancels.
