I’m glad my bearded dragon basks on his log super close to the uv light that isn’t very good meaning he gets what he needs 95% of thentime. I’m going to buy that light you recommended today!
I use the Lucky Reptile bright sun UV desert 70W on all of my 3 beardies and they are perfect Healthy 👍🏼 i also use a T5 lamp for daylight and some Standard 50W sun Spots
Oh yeah that lucky reptile is a mercury vapor bulb. One thing they definitely put out is heat and UVB! So your beardies would definitely be healthy using those!
This bulb is actually perfect for an animal like my Kenyan sand boa, who benefits from very low level UVB, but anything higher could hurt him because he isn't meant to be in the sun all day.
I don't have those two. I just have normal UVB lightbulbs. I wanna get the mvb, idk how much it'd cost tho and I'm on a budget. How much are they? Also to everyone, never use red UVB lightbulbs. Beardies can see UVB rays and the red UVB hurts their eyes. I saw that in my research before I had beardies... Now I have five lol 😂 it's like having five lil toddlers running around my apartment.
@@ChiefSweetsUniverse but I do have 1 question should I use 10.0 or 13.0? I have a 4yr bearded dragon he is mixed with a fancy beaded dragon and I wanted to ask someone more advanced, I know ubv isn't the best but I just want your opinion
Those bulbs needs to be installed on the side, where the long tube can deliver the uvb. The end part is roundish and filters the uvb out but the long part works well… still shit bulbs tho
Use a trusted bulb and the bar. The bar alone isn't enough but it's great for a general overhead especially for giant lizards like tegus and large monitors! Research always it never hurts to have more than one source and some uvb bulbs also produce heat.
Same with russian tortoises? Im very new and im getting one in a couple months, is there any cheap ones at lowes or walmart you know that will do good with a yearling+ tortoise?
I use the uvb bulb shown here but I give my bearded dragon a calcium powder in his daily salads with a bit of vitamin b12 to just give him a boost until I can upgrade the tank and get better lighting
@@TexasFishing628 I am aware of that and I am going to upgrade his lighting once I upgrade his tank in a month or so, I’m currently in the process of moving so money is a bit tight, but I am keeping an eye on his health and doing my best with what I can at the moment
Thank you so much for all of your help❤❤ Because of you I am now able to rest assured that my beardie will have the proper lighting. If you would like to see a new video of her cage tour with the UVB bulb you can go to my newest short.
My Bearded dragon seems to be avoiding his lights, it may be a temperature related issue but the temperature in his cage reaches 40 degrees Celsius so could it be a UVB related issue? He’s more lethargic than usual
Adults want a little bit cooler but from my experiencr the problem is that they need a gradient to cool down so in the opposite side you need temps to drop to a cool 22-24C at least
or you can put your bearded dragon outside in natural sunlight once a day for about an hour. dont get bearded dragons if you're going to keep them in cages. i have an i door cage, and then they have an outdoor cage made of chicken wire that they can enjoy.
They tested it and they would need natural sunlight for 2 hours but not too hard however lots of people live in places that are pretty cold year round like Alaska so not everyone can keep ‘em outside. Example people who live in cities
@@thebuddha4208 I wish it was that simple but they are in the United States and their is strict no importation and exportation of bearded dragons so no bearded dragons are taken out of the wild however all the ones here are stuck so we have to care for them properly like in this video give them the right lighting and give them as best as we can naturalistic environments.
