My naturally yellow teeth have caused me serious self confidence issues. (I've tried everything to whiten them - dentists told me to stop trying because it would damage my teeth) I'm 45 and I still won't smile without putting my hand in front of my mouth. I can never wear lipstick, even when I'm talking, I like to keep people at a distance. I wish 'natural' was indeed celebrated but sadly white teeth are what people want to see.

I’m so insecure about this I cover my mouth whenever I eat or talk.. because I get told hey why don’t you brush your teeth…when I already do everyday:( this is the same for hair and skin issues .. I take care of myself so much that others won’t be able to see it. I feel terrible because there is others who don’t even take care of themselves as much as I do and have perfect teeth or hair or skin…

I think brushing doesnt really remove teeth stains effectively, but whitening procedures do. And brushing is more of a prevention mechanism to prevent stains than it is to remove stains. Think of like your shoes for example, if they have white outsole, they can get stained overtime with contact with dirt etc. if you leave the dirt on the shoes the dirt becomes nearly impossible to remove with just brushing and soap. And there will now be a stain. To remove this stain you will have to use some sort of bleaching agent or something that can remove pigment. If your teeth are yellow this usually does not mean your dentin is exposed. It means your teeth enamel is stained yellow because you have neglected them. It doesnt matter if you brush 2x a day now because your teeth are already stained. Its like hair dye, you cant just expect dyed hair to become normal color again by washing it. It stays almost that same color, and loses its pigment over time but your teeth are not nearly as porous as hair follicles. Seems like if your teeth are yellow the best solution is to get a whitening procedure done THEN make sure you brush your teeth consistently. But do not get teeth whitening done as a routine thing, because it is damaging to your teeth. The most healthy thing would actually be to leave your stained teeth as is, but youll be looked at weirdly for having yellow teeth. Sucks for us that didn’t brush our teeth well when we were kids but it is what it is.

I took calcium pills as a kid. My mom did it to strengthen my bones. The end result was an off white yellowing, but extremely hard teeth.

i brush my teeth every morning and before bed but its getting more yellow compare to my friends who doesnt brush their teeth before bed after eating so much their teeth is whiter than me

I can 100% notice the difference in the morning when I brush them at night on when they turn white, but during the day it's like going back to yellow all over again..No clue on why that is but it's super annoying and on a daily basis

I have thin teeth so everyone thinks I don't have proper hygiene when I literally brush my teeth 3 times a day.. even my mom and dad thinks I'm too lazy to brush my teeth, and they always point it out every single time I smile or laugh, it's not my fault that I have thin teeth..

My dentist smoothed my canine teeth out before I got braces. Aside from my enamel being more thin and therefore my teeth yellow, is it also possible that my enamel became more porous because he smoothed it out so that’s why it’s more yellow than my other teeth?

Try xylitol. It’s a natural teeth whitener (comes from a bark). Also let you teeth break in between meals. Constant snacking will keep ph level saliva from doing its job to naturally whiten teeth. *Eat a meal, chew on some xylitol gum for a few minutes then keep your mouth shut (mouth breathers). Wait two hours before drinking water or snacking etc. You should see a difference in three months.

My teeth have always been stained. My dentist said they are naturally yellow. I’ve used whitening toothpaste, mouthwash, whitening strips, an at home whitening tray, and then a professional whitening and nothing worked. I don’t smoke or drink coffee. I think bankers are the only option :(
