@@thewhitefalcon8539Yeah pretty sure they use actual charcoal but is in small enough quantities to just change the colour and not the flavour or texture, it's really just for the novelty
@@imaginekudryavka9485 The Japanese burger is made of bamboo charcoal, but in Western Europe you can eat black food made using cephalopod ink. I've eaten a black burger and black pasta. Honestly, they look black and weird but taste the same as regular bread and pasta.
@@thecluckster3908definitely. Maybe top 1. Think about the amount of actual good content they have created. Who compares? There’s some decent Reddits out there and individual chatters who have made some great songs, animations, memes for other streamers but the amount of creativity, humor, and effort that the atrioc chat actually brings to the stream and community is staggering
this happened in Australia with a snack called "Shapes". In 2016, Arnotts (the company making them) changed the recipe and everyone hated the new recipe so much that the company making them changed it back and added "Originals" to the packaging.
if you buy a large box of Oreos and the normal box, you can tell that the large box is different. Same with cosmic brownies they taste different and don't have a line in the middle.
You're absolutely right. Different products with the same branding are not always the same food. Hellmann's mayonnaise is a good example: the jar and squeeze versions of the product have different a slightly different amount of total fat on the nutrition label despite having all of the same ingredients, meaning there must be a different amount of at least one of the ingredients in them.
specifically for chips ahoy, Im pretty sure there are different distributors or factories or something because the taste and texture can vary so much between packages. also different products like the small 2 packs or party packs or whatever are distinct from each other. id really like to see some journalism or podcast investigating it. source: i have a problem.
When I used to work at a grocery store stocking shelves some of the products in the import section would, in addition to having the ingredients listed in descending order of amount included in the product, have the percentage of each ingredient included in the product. It goes to show you that there are still easy regulations which can be implemented to protect the consumer from secret shrinkflation which politicians in North America are ignoring.
So I wasn't going insane! I would keep on telling my mother that certain things tasted worse or had a worse texture but both my parents didn't believe me most of the time. My mom would blame it on the "every seven years your tastes change" but that happened 1 year ago, not three years ago. I'm a picky eater but I have an accurate judging ability for what I like, dislike and might like. For example, I had noticed immediately that the brown sauce at a nearby place had been altered but my mother told me it was the exact same. It was only when my father tried the sauce the next time we went without being told about our disagreement that he could instantly tell too.
Laundry detergent and scent booster beads. I swear they cut back on the fragrance in the laundry detergent and now you have to buy a separate product to get the same effect. PS: I know this is an uncommon snack.
I accidentally got addicted to coffee, and I needed to have it every day for three years. Then one day, I forgot to drink it one morning, and I never needed it again. I went to the gas station as a college student, and I didn’t know anything about coffee, so I asked the attendant “What drink has the most caffeine in it?” They told me a regular coffee does, so I ordered that. I had something really important I needed to get done that day. Then a couple weeks later, I had a small project I wanted to do, but it wasn’t anything too important. I didn’t need something as strong as coffee, but I figured maybe I could benefit from a little boost, so I ordered a triple shot of espresso from the gas station. It turns out, espresso has more caffeine than coffee does. I needed to drink coffee everyday after that otherwise I would get brutal headaches. Every once in a while, I would forget to buy coffee in the morning, and I would get the worst headache. It would be so miserable. For some mysterious reason, one of the days I forgot to buy my coffee in the morning, I didn’t get a headache at all. Then I never needed to drink it again. I still really grew to appreciate the taste of a good cup of coffee though. On special occasions, I would still treat myself to a cup every now and then, or I would order a cup whenever I had something important I wanted to get done. It would really give me butterflies in the night though, so I started switching to tea, and now I drink almost completely non caffeinated tea when I have an important project I want to do. I think if I ever drink coffee again, it will probably be a social thing like when chatting with friends. I don’t see myself wanting to drink it besides then, but I really love the taste of a good cup. It’s so enjoyable to just stew in the morning over a solid cup just slowly smelling it over. I just don’t have the same energy to enjoy it. I’m a little too alert nowadays. I feel less energetic than I was in my youth, but I am more alert. That really ruins the enjoyment of coffee as a private experience for me.
At ocs we weren’t allowed to have snacks, and you were going through so many calories you were always hungry. The only edible substance allowed was Gatorade powder. It was like crack. It was so good. Everyone was addicted to dry scooping.
Changing flavor has to be stupidiest idea ever all my favorite bread brands added more yeast and the bread became so bad, isntantly switched brands and never picking that again.
A good example of this is cheese nips. I had them as an adult and thought my tastes changed but in 2017 or 19 they were discontinued then brought back with a new formula which has like 3x more flour and less cheese.
I'm pretty sure kitkat changed their cacao a few years ago, first their normal bars and now their chunky bars. Haven't bought a kitkat since. I do feel like my taste has change over the years but when they switched and got the fair trade cacao label the change was noticeable.
Idk if this is popular in the US but in Australia the supermarkets usually make their own versions of popular snacks and they usually taste the same if not better for cheaper
Store brands 😍 In the Netherlands I can get MnMs for like 4.50 euro but store brand choco peanuts are like 2,50 euro. Honestly switching over to store brands makes me able to pay rent.
I don’t know if they still do this because I stopped buying them, but Chips Ahoy had different formulas for every version they sold. I remember getting a box, thinking it was shit and realizing the issue was that the family size had a different flavour
THIS IS WHAT I'M SAYING As an avid maxibon (australian ice cream idk if it's elsewhere) enjoyer, they have changed the cookie half of the maxibon and I haven't bought as many since. I was thinking of this as shrinkflation but if there's another term for it it'd be cool to see a video on the topic. I have no proof other than my taste buds. peace and love.
My dad says that the ingredients themselves are worst, he said that the garlic we buy from Walmart barely smells and has almost no flavour, in comparison saying that the garlic of his time stinked the whole kitchen while cooking it.
College student here, I’ve somehow done my best to avoid a coffee addiction. Thankfully I don’t like how coffee tastes, but sometimes I have to power through it because I need caffeine to be very awake for an important lecture or exam. I think I’ve done a pretty good job tho since I don’t need any coffee on the day to day, just 2-3 times a month when it’s really necessary.
At some point they changed the chips they use for Doritos and I stopped buying them. It was subtle, but the change was noticeable to me. I can't remember specifically how they tasted before, but they taste like Fritos to me now.
Everytime atrioc has some food takes, I always do a double take at how similar our takes are! I don't drink coffee, not a huge fan of it, but I'm also scared if i start drinking it in the morning, I'm going to start needing it everyday
I can confidently say I have eaten more goldfish crackers than anyone else watching this. No I’m not kidding. Goldfish obviously go hard. But the flavor quality control on the large boxes of regulars is poor. There’s a range of cheesiness levels. And only 1 box in 20 contains a batch that hits the way they did 20 years ago. I don’t think this is nostalgia either. I’ve done blind taste tests between boxes and can consistently distinguish between boxes Typing this all out, i feel like I belong in a mental ward
I’m a decaf coffee enjoyer because I like the taste of coffee (but not the side effects). Most decaf is mediocre at best compared to regular but at least I’m not addicted to caffeine 🤷🏼♀️
I feel vindicated, Oreos just don't taste good to me at all lately. The ratio from cream to cookie is too low, and the flavour itself isn't as good as I remembered. I thought it was just nostalgia as a kid skewing my expectations, but I'm now sure it's the Oreo's themselves.
cheezits are far superior to goldfish - yet goldfish are pretty good. I do completely agree that goldfish taste much better out of the carton. I can't really put any logic behind that but it just is.
I mean "skimp" can mean quanitity or quality. People were only using it to mean skimping on ingredients (quality) rather than quantity because shrinkflation already existed for quantity. Honestly I'd used it for ingredient quality but I wasn't sure and I don't believe it is used unanimously as quality at all when people mention it. I think it very much varies on where you're seeing it used.
Investing in Apple early isn’t the best way to get rich. It requires a Time Machine, and could mess with the space time continuum. That’s all nasty stuff. If I wanted to get rich I would just scam Ludwig. Much easier. I’m not that desperate for money though. Also, please don’t scam Ludwig. He’s a a pretty solid guy.
If you wanna get rich and don't mind doing something difficult, you can probably go back to school and learn something job that pays well. Or learn something that allows you to like produce something directly monetizable or whatever
I dont believe you. All those kinds of products were designed to be cheaply made and last longer. They usually say on the box if they have changed ingrediants. Which isnt good for buissness. People wont want to have to check every week if the company has changed ingredients. Thats why they are careful in the creation prosess.
