I feel like that's not a good thing to say. It's very passive agressive and people do pick up on that and don't usually respond with kindness. They might make fun of you and say "so, never then." Also, you are attacking yourself by saying you have nothing important to say or add value to the conversation. This whole video is about how it's all in your head and that a question like that isn't necessarily asked in an bad manner. They just took notice and innocently asked why you're so quiet. It's not wise to antagonise them then. It's not other's fault one lacks confidence. Not everyone is out to get you.

Also, if someone did make a follow up comment like that, I would just say "you're right, I should just be a retard and ask stupid questions like you." I agree. When I was a kid I used to be quite and antisocial but I learnt to smile more and show more expressions so now I seem more social. I haven't started speaking more, it's just because I look more attentive.
I've noticed a lot of ppl don't like listening to the ideas of other much. Conversation is very crowded and ppl often talk over each other leaving little room to express your ideas. If a convo seems crowed I don't want to join in, then they ask the question "why are you so quiet?"
No one who's asked me this question actually had the capacity to listen/understand but I spoke at great length to those who did. It's just the way of the world man...

what happens if someone says ¨why are you so quiet¨ and you say ¨what u mean bro, i've been talking¨ i've been in that situration and i said ¨bro i've been talking, what are you on about (in a joking manner) and it turned out quite well, with them also laughing.
The reason most people are quiet is usually not because it’s their nature but because they don’t leave their comfort zone and practice talking to other people. I used to think I was just quiet and introverted but I decided to start leaving my comfort zone and forced myself to talk to people. I started with small things like talking to the cashier or just saying hello to my neighbours. Then I started to make conversation with strangers and became good friends with some. Learning how to talk to other people opens more doors than you can imagine and will give you life experiences that you will have never had if you didn’t step out your comfort zone.
Why u so quiet or why u don't talk is what I've been asked throughout my life & them asking me that bothers me I don't talk because I have nothing to say or I don't know what to say
