I’ve had the same experience… from the atlanta suburbs, but am pretty tightly in christian subculture… very few people use dating apps who I know, and most are friends before dating

All dating advice is cliched, including what I’m gonna tell you: Focus on improving yourself, not sadposting, and talking to people. Work out every day and try to eat right. It will build confidence and improve your psyche. If people see you improving yourself, it will also build a better image. Don’t complain or have a “woe is me” attitude. I feel for you, but it’s not gonna help. Try to be funny and friendly. And yeah, don’t be weird or obsessive. Practice talking to people and making small talk. Observe extroverts and copy their talking points. Making people laugh/happy will make you feel good and hopefully you can carry this over. Ask someone who gets a lotta girls for pointers; those guys are always happy to help. Practice what you’re gonna say and say it with your whole chest. Then comes the hard part: admitting you wanna be more than friends. If you like a girl then you should always go for it. Don’t play the long waiting game. I can’t say what kind of date will be best for you, so do some additional research (mini golf, Dave and Busters, arcades might work for you). It’s not always gonna work out, and it fucking sucks, but you gotta move on. You have to hype yourself up, but also if you get rejected, it’s hard to stop yourself from being broken down. Find closure and learn from your mistakes. If a girl doesn’t like you, then a girl doesn’t like you. Her loss. Don’t give up. Every guy/girl is different, but hopefully this works for you. if you treat a woman you meet irl like a friend you want to get to know more, you will get to know them more and you will both settle in. it’ll be very apparent very past how compatible you are/arent so many people who are afraid of/struggling with dating tend to treat women like a completely different like predator species that is to be feared and it’s like dude… just treat a woman like you would treat a man you want to be friends with. just be friendly, flirt a little, test the waters, etc

There's no investment. I don't have to be remotely serious I can just swipe on people and it's not even 'real' unless I mentally decide I'm going to try to connect with the person. But otherwise you can just have your pole dangling in the water waiting for the perfect nibble, crowding up the water for the fish actually tryna get caught but someone serious
