I like how at the end he talks about how a man is usually the one walking away from an explosion in cinema and how that parallels to Bella being a military veteran. I’m a veteran as well and always have people ask "you or your husband" 🙄 I talked to my mom about Bella the other day and told her about how she’s a veteran and even my mom asked "her or her dad". I got so annoyed, like ma’am your own daughter is in the military and you’re going to say something like that? It’s actually so insulting.

@@Naiya77_7 lol it’s because they don’t believe you’re the one served, some military wives say they’re in the military because their husband is(which to some extent is true because of all the traveling and sacrifices that they do go through) but some of the ones that say stuff like that say that their husbands rank is their rank and that they deserve military discounts and special treatment and yeah. Basically a military wife Karen, we call them Dependapotamuses 🤭 I actually met a woman that wanted to be called Colonel because that was her husbands rank 💀

Honestly this makes me respect her so much. I feel like a condescending bitch for saying this but I usually assume tiktokers dont put a lot of effort into their work and that they dont really care about what they’re doing. I dont think thats true for all tiktokers but it has been proven by a certain few. But bella brought actual personality to her video, it didnt feel like “look im bella poarch and im singing” it felt like she was the character she was playing. I like that the video had an actual story and it wasnt just a bunch of shots of her looking at the camera and singing, it is a million times more entertaining and it feels more like a classic music video. I just got the impression that she cares more about her music career than certain other tiktokers because she seems to have given it her all

When my sister first showed me Build a Bitch, I didn’t even realize it was a TikToker song. I thought it was just a cute, sassy pop song that resonated with my sister’s aesthetic. It definitely stands on its own legs apart from Bella’s existing TikTok career, even though I can definitely see how this song is also perfect for making TikToks with. Well done, Bella! I saw people compare it to Rebekah Black’s “Friday” (I think they meant it as an insult) and personally that is such a weird and wrong assessment. I don't really know how to feel about Bella Poarch because of her controversies but the song is catchy and I actually really enjoy it. I like that she uses the word flaws because while the other lyrics specify physical "flaws" it can also include personality flaws. Personality flaws/insecurities aren't really mentioned in self love typically and I appreciate that its included even if it wasn't intentional.

There are a lot of less attractive women who are talented and don't receive a fraction of the attention someone like Bella does. Her feminist anthem and video are cool, but all the flawed women represented are hot. So, it's not that ballsy to be like, "Oh, I'm not perfect!" while being conventionally attractive and already having a history of shitty behavior.

I feel like everyone was pleasantly surprised by Bella, she went from making faces on tik tok to making an actual quality music video, and unlike other tik tokers she actually put effort into her music, people were telling her to focus on her singing more because she's really good, I'm glad she embraced her talent and went for it

Omg I just realized who she kinda reminds me of, Lily Allen! She’s like a dark version of Lily Allen and I’m HERE for it. She’s a gorgeous girl and I don’t really use tik tok so I knew of her but nothing about her, but she’s a great (surprisingly so) artist! Good for her honestly the video was cool as hell

Fact : She was physically and verbally abused by her stepdad as a kid but then she joined the U.S military which she says finally made her feel free. I don’t personally am interested in her Tik Tok videos but I respect her how far she has come through and the effort that she shows in her work.

@@kikiTHEalien i think the point of that here is they are flipping it on its head. Instead of women wearing lengerie to seduce men, it's just clothes/empowerment. No man would think this video was made to seduce/encourage him, compared to other MVs where the artist wears lengerie to be sexy for her male audience.

I think you got the angle wrong here. It's not about beauty standards. It's about men feeling entitled to demand so much from women - often despite the men not being high value themselves. It's not a video about society's standards for women in general although it touches on that. It's more focused on the patriarchy and men's entitlement. Which is good for women regardless if they are conventionally attractive or not.

Her interviews are very intriguing. She a good person, values family and friends, has worked hard for what she wants, very driven. I dont go on tik tok much and I'm not the target audience for these younger people so I don't know any of them, but Bella is a gem! She's lived a few lifetimes at her young age and I have so much respect for her.

The trader Joe's bread and wig friggin got me 😹🖤🖤 Also, I don't have tik Tok and I don't follow any of whoever is doing what, but this music video is by far better than some videos of well established pop stars. It's interesting, the scenes have so many different depths and dimensions and effects and practical effects, and the acting by the people and their movements, made me genuinely enjoy this video. And the song is catchy. And the ass kicking scene with sparks and factory depth and dimension felt like it was real and shot as well as a movie. And the icing on the cake? Your take on it and the hilarious humor you give us by just being you, but with how smart you are with the technical side of things doesn't make this seem trivial. I always love to hear how you can make a particular scene better or how you would have done it, and your wit along with it is just really enjoyable. You've made my morning so much better, I'm at work and having a shitty morning, so I popped in my earphone and decided I needed something to make me happy. I've been rewatching some of your videos this morning and my day is looking up now. Thank you lol 🖤

The song is very reminiscent of Melanie Martinez and I personally don't love the childish "La La La" parts, BUT she has a beautiful voice, lots of creativity, and it's good for your debut song to be safe enough for the general public, so im sure her next songs will be much better. This is only her big break and I'm excited to see her grow more comfortable in her style of music.
