How Blockbuster made my childhood! Today we can literally watch the latest and greatest films with just a few swipes of the finger. Over 20 years ago though, the ways of watching movies was a bit different. Then enters Blockbuster. Physically going out to browse all the isles of movies. You got action, and comedy and...action comedy! After picking out a few good selections for the night, you'd head over to grabbing some sweet delicious candy from the counter. These are just a few of the steps it took to enjoy the ultimate Blockbuster experience!

Ahhh the good old days. I grew up in a town so small, we didn't have Blockbuster. We did have a mom & pop video rental store. Come to think of it, that was even before Blockbuster was a national chain (Ugh... I'm dating myself). Anyway, long story short. Similar experience, and some very fond memories.

Blockbuster was sick. I remember seeing the 6 star Wars movies lined up in perfect order beautifully on the shelf. I used to rent games too before deciding to buy them, I remember renting Soul Calibur, Hot Weels Project X, Kinetica, Tak and the power of Juju, Jak, GTA and COD. And then every other week I'd pass by to get some YuGioh cards to Duel people in school. Ah the memories. The 90s and Early 2000s were innocent.

Oh boy, I hear you buddy! I was also born in 19noneofyourbusiness, and I tell ya, some of my fondest, most nostalgic memories come from video shops. We had THREE different ones nearby when I was a kid, two of which were across the road from one another (one of which was a Blockbuster). I remember when I was really young and we'd go down after dinner with my little brother and I in our pyjamas and we'd be allowed to pick one weekly each, while my Mum and big brother stocked up on new releases and three-nighters. I remember being so excited when I got my own membership card in high school, but then it was only a few years after that that they started closing down. Ah, memories!

I miss Blockbuster so much... sometimes as a kid if we got a really good movie we decided to keep it a day or two after the return date and even though my parents would be all that happy about it they knew it was worth it for watching a movie for 10th time that week or finishing a video game if it brought me and or my sister a fun time. Phased out VHS, the BluRay vs HD war, PS3/X360/GCube, Last day I worked was mid April 2011, store I transferred to shut down after 6 months there. Locked the doors for the night, next morning the store manager, "the movie guy" and myself boxed up some stuff that was to be shipped out and left; remaining stuff was picked up by a 3rd party. Sadly as someone who comes from a different background to this video I never sadly got to experience any of this buuuut it’s still pretty awesome to hear others got to enjoy themselves like this and helped you realise it’s best to watch that movie you wanted to watch while you got the time before new movies come out and you forget about that specific movie

Blockbuster founded my life. It’s how I found out about Star Wars when I was four. My mom would drive me there every week to just see the titles; and for my fifth birthday, all I wanted was to watch the movies. I got my wish and it’s been my life since then.

I miss Block Buster, along with Hollywood Video. Always enjoyed browsing and making the final decision on a movie to watch. I also miss renting games before buying them as well...

I remember Blockbuster so much, I always went with my parents to go to this one Blockbuster that was next door to a pizza hut so after we got the movies we were going to watch, we just go grab some pizza hut and go home to enjoy our weekend. I was surprised about blockbuster closing their stores but I didn't find that out when the one my parents and I going to closed back in 2012. Blockbuster was the best and it will never the top tier list for me surpassing every streaming platform out there!

I remember my town's Blockbuster. Good times. It was a sad day when it closed down. The Subway that was next to it the whole time is still there.

I never watched a movie from blockbuster, I was born to late I guess… but my dad is doing his job and we watch together all the iconic movies like Terminator and back to the future and the original Star Wars. I can only wish I would see those movies like you described

"Why BLOCKBUSTER IS* The Best!" I fixed the title for you. :-) I remember many a night of renting a game from Blockbuster. Now I am building a collection of Blockbuster games and movies. Awesome video Mr. StormTrooper. Haha that you showed Tremors as going into the quikdrop is too funny to me. One of the actors in that movie has my real name and I've loved the Tremor movies since a kid. Almost won an ebay auction a couple months ago with a copy of Tremors on VHS in a Blockbuster rental case. Should have bid higher but got sniped. :-(

I remember those days. I am a pre Blockbuster entity from a small town far far away. Days, weeks, years and decades come and go just like the glory days of Blockbuster when it was here. Oh yeah nice butter covered popcorn was or is my movie snack.
