Your light is installed in the wrong spot. I put mine on the door originally, but soon realized it is supposed to go on the underside of the hutch itself. I didn’t like how the wires hung, so I moved it. When I went back to the install instructions for the light, I also realized that’s where they wanted it installed in the first place.
I set mine up the same but I also originally had it on the door. I feel like you lose a little bit of light but it’s minimal. I’ve had my box for 2 years and love it. Planning on expanding it eventually with the top cabs and another side locker.
You know about the drawer tension adjusters on the sides right? If you have problems with them coming open when closing you can increase/decrease the tension on each drawer slide.
Thanks for the great video! I bought the 73" roller cab and after about 2 months from when it was delivered, I received a random package from Harbor Freight and it was a small bottle of touch up paint! I was very pleasantly surprised!
I considered one of this ICONs and noticed they are built with rivets not entirely welded like a pro box is. Rivets are not a permanent joint like a spot weld. Not sure if I will move ahead with it.
Hammerdown Motorsports.. New sub here. I would like to get and Icon box like yours (black) with the two end lockers and see how it compares to my Matco box. It looks like the hutch is like a Snap-on hutch and the box itself is like a Matco box with the detents on the drawers instead of latches.
For the amount of money you spend I can’t understand how they don’t give you self locking drawers with a full length lever/latch as a handle that only requires a slight lift to open the drawer again…. Just checked these out at Harbor Freight and wow for the many thousands it costs they sure are skipping what is the most important thing… I think nobody but Masterforce from Menards has these self locking tabs that will not open back up on you, until you lift it and pull out. Milwaukee, Us General, Icon, Husky, Craftsman and pretty no body gives such a heavy duty box for a cheap price $1300 for a Masterforce box at Menards that is about this same size. Severe years of using a Masterforce while working on semi trucks and never one issues
full length lift latches are nice. But Masterforces are not anywhere near as heavy duty as Icons are. Masterforces aren't made to stack top box, overhead cabinets and sidelockers on the main unit w/o being more prone to overloading/flexing. There's a reason their side lockers and top "chest" are so small/light vs the Icon versions and even the U.S. Generals, they need to keep people from overloading the entire system if they build it out. 3,000 lb max load cap vs 8k. Icon weighs nearly 2x as much empty vs the MF while being dimensionally the same so there's no doubt they're putting a lot more steel in places that matter. Much heavier casters, frame, sidewalls, slides and drawers for 100% sure. And you get better discount opportunities at HF. Menards has 11% max off anything. At HF you can get Icon cabs down to $1950 with max possible discounts or $2250 w/ regular 15% sale + 10% CC. For ~$5-600 more I skipped the MF because I wanted the much much heavier duty cabinet for long-term possibilities. Mine is stationary anyways so loss of lift latches got be less of a big deal anyways plus you get an actual power drawer and the power tool drawer as a consolation prize. That and you can reorganize and change the drawer layouts which has been pretty nice as well.
@@jaywelker5566 our MasterForce seem to do just fine last several years holding more weight than most car mechanics could dream of. Top drawer has sockets from 1/4” all the way to 3/4” and some big sockets for semi truck hub bearings… probably way more heavy duty tools and impacts in our boxes too. Drills, saws, and more…
