Why Cad Bane is So Important to The Book of Boba Fett 

I love the fact that Cad noticed the deputy forgot to unholster his blaster, taking out Cob first knowing he still would have plenty of time to shoot the deputy

This character is what won me over to The Clone Wars series.

I think Bane’s statement about Fett’s history was solely to keep the townsfolk from getting involved. Not that he’s trying to say “I’m better than him.” It’s that he’s trying to keep the fight more one-sided by any means.

I predict Boba and Bane will duel however Boba will simply shoot Bane’s blaster out of his hand. Proving not only is boba better but also a changed man.

I am still processing Bane's appearance, I can't get over how perfect it was and how amazing he looked in liveaction. Genuinely, he looked terrifying. I got chills when they showed his eyes and hearing Corey Burton voice him again was fantastic. I feel like they could easily summarise Bane's history with the Fetts and/or Fennec to explain it not only to the casual audience (though I have thoughts about that) but also Din and their allies because Bane showing up raises the stakes. I doubt Boba will lead them into battle without giving them the full story. Even just saying "He was trained by my father and then he trained me" would be enough and establish that now it **is** personal for Boba, not just business like it was with Black Krrsantan. I wonder if Bane has held a grudge against Boba for all this time, it would be cool if they showed his head and where he was shot but honestly I'm not expecting that. Either way, Bane is the most literal confrontation Boba can have with his past and I can't wait to see how it all goes down. I honestly don't know if Bane will survive, it seems likely that he will die but then again, Boba offering his old nemesis a chance would be a great way to test his growth and it would be great to see. I also wonder if Bane stopped chewing toothpicks because his teeth got sharper, which I'm chalking up to aging, same with his paler skin. It's been 30 years, it makes sense. People change as they get older, look at Yoda for example. Seen a lot of people saying "where's the toothpick" too and that's just hilarious

Bane beating Hunter and Kobb is basically Bane beating 2 "versions" of Boba, 1 (Hunter) is literally a copy of Boba and the other (Kobb) is someone who took up Boba's persona/armor and "filled his shoes" as another version of him.

I've waited a long time to see Cad Bane in live action, very important to Boba Fett's story. I hope he doesn't die in the next episode

5:47 - 5:55 - I don't think Cad stated that line to take a high horse "holier-than-thou-art" stance on Boba, I think he was using that purely as a tactic to dissuade Freetown from siding with Fett. It's clear the denizens of Tatooine have no love for former Imperials as the helmets on stakes in Mos Eisley should signify so while Cad is always ready for a quick draw, he was most likely hoping that it would be enough for the town to see things the way the Pykes want them too.

A lot of people are saying they think Vanth really died, and maybe it’s just me but knowing how good Cad Bane’s shot is, that he only shot Vanth once (in what looks like the shoulder) and how he stared at him before he left I feel like he was intentionally trying to keep him alive because his death would stir up the town. He just wanted to get a point across.

I want to see Boba and Cad Bane fight! Time to decide who’s the best bounty hunter in the Galaxy!!

Would be very cool if Bane said something like "this time, I'll make more than a dent on your helmet", when he meets Boba. Easiest way to make that canon. 😄

When Cad Bane did appear in this series, I thought he would’ve been out of his prime due to his age. Dengar was by the time at the Battle of Jakku. Granted Bane is a Duros & Dengar is a human, so obviously those species do age differently.

I'm actually hoping for a flashback to show Bane and Bobas past, with Daniel Logan as Fett. I think it'd be great, would also be great for new viewers to learn some more about Cad Bane.

Agree with your assessment of Cad Bane. Bane is a thorough villain who is devoid of a moral compass. Boba Fett started off as an antagonist and did some unpleasant things but his time with the Tuskens, Fennec Shand, and Din Djarin has changed him.

As a 40+ year old who was raised on the original trilogy I find it sad to say the best episodes in this series were the ones that Boba Fett wasn’t in.

The only thing missing is Omega... That would be awesome and really needs to be addressed.. sooner than later.

Some are giving Chapter 6 crap for so-called “nostalgia-pandering”, overblown fan service, and inability to create new things, but whatever may be actually true, Cad Bane actually makes sense to appear in this show.

"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to." seems like a legitimate motivation for Boba.

Q/A: they reminded everyone of Cad bane in Bad Batch before his live action appearance. What are the odds of Hondo appearing in bad batch S2 before then appearing in Live Action?

I don't want Cad Bane to die, but I also would not be surprised if he does. He's my favorite character to come out of The Clone Wars that was originally made for The Clone Wars, but I'm also very content in his death if it happens. Before he showed up in The Bad Batch, I could definitely see him having survived the shootout, but having a blast to his cheek giving him a nice scar and a cybernetic eye, not the top of his head (RIP Bane's original hat), and then at some point, the two cross paths and duke it out for one last time with Boba being the victor killing Bane. So in my head canon, Boba was always going to kill Bane, but not without Bane having a few more years left to be awesome. It's now 30 years later, Bane's got to be close to 70 years old at this point, it's time, and I'm accepting it. I just hope it's gonna be the most spectacular death of all time than just being simply shot. I want something John Wick style where he's shot a few times in the chest, then shot in the head, and then falls down the pit and the Rancor eats him, something like that. Maybe that's a bit too over the top, but I don't want some pitiful death, it's got to be something rad and definitive because right now, he's the biggest threat in the show.

Tell us again how important he is after that finale.

I wonder if Boba could change Bane, he was his mentor for a time in the past as well as Boba does look like he’s changing these bounty hunters. Fennec, Black Krrsantan, and now maybe Bane as well. Or bane will be like he loves his job and won’t turn over a new leaf.

Boba had his past flung back at him in the Sarlac pit. She sparked his dreams and fed on his terror. I think I would rethink my life after that too.

I think it's a stretch to say Cad Bane outduelled Cobb Vanth. At least the way I saw it, the latter was distracted by his deputy and the former took advantage of that.

I feel like we’re going to see the old “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”. Also, I feel like there is a always a bigger Bad boss that won’t be shown until the last minute. Like Crimson Dawn controlling the Pikes, or the 1st Order/Empire. I was hoping Mando was going to recruit the Night Owls with Bo Katan. Or maybe the Bad Batch shows up with Omega in the finale.

I needed this video to understand his connection to everyone. He is one scary looking dude and immediately had me worried about our team’s chances of winning.

What I love about cad bane is that he was always so well planned and always had these amazing escape exits or crazy ways to infiltrate a base or some sort of leverage on his foe

Never mind Banes gunslinging, I'm more impressed with his inside knowledge of his enemies, Cob Vanth missing armour, Boba Fett. He even walked from beyond the flats to avoid attention from that noisy deputy. He foresaw Boba Fett recruiting Cob and that makes me wonder WTF is his intelligence outfit

Definitely think this is the end of cad bane, the good news is there's still 30 years worth of story for him to pop up in at some point in a tv show or comic during the reign of the empire, we could see him in the obi wan, andor or lando series for example

I almost fainted from excitement when I seen Cad Bane.

I think he also serves an important narrative purpose by putting a face on the antagonists. The pyke syndicate doesn’t really have a memorable leader so having him helps make things more personal and show the audience what will happen if the pykes win

The fight between Boba and Cad Bane in the finale is a lot more meaningful in the context of their fight in the unaired Clone Wars episode. I really wish we had gotten that stuff in season 7.

What's rich is people thinking Cad Bane was calling Boba Fett out for being a cold blooded killer. This is THE cold blooded killer. And he's proud of it. Cad Bane won't be going on some spirit walk through the desert with a humble tribe. He's here to be bad. That comment he made was a reminder. A way of saying "You don't really know who your Diamyo was." Villians call out other Villians all the time in fantasy. And they're not saying "See? I'm a good guy cuz this guy was bad!" But the fact that people misread this says so much in volumes.

I don’t know of every character in Star Wars canon. So this was a first reveal/impression for me and I love the Cad Bane they gave us. He looks awesome and I knew he was very important and threatening without even knowing who he was. So it riddles me why so many don’t like his appearance. He looks awesome. He sounds awesome. I’m impressed with this character and can’t wait to see more.

Thanks for the good video! Personally, I think your analysis with Bane is spot-on in terms of him being a reminder of Fett's darker past. I think Fett defeating Bane would certainly be symbolic. However, I think bringing Bane in Episode 6 to kill him off in Episode 7 would make little sense thematically. It would seem awfully sudden, especially to the audience members who have no idea who Bane is. So, hopefully the creators will keep Bane around a bit longer.

I can see Cad Bane and the bikers both being hired by the Pykes to take out the Tusken tribe as payback for the train attack. It would explain why the bikers gang insignia was scrawled on the Tusken camp site and also explain how they were able to beat the Tuskens by having Cad Bane with them as extra muscle. It also sets up the chance for Cad Bane to reveal to Boba the full story of the Tuskens' demise so Boba would be goaded into a fight against him because now it becomes personal for Boba rather than facing off Cad Bane as 'just another mercenary on the Pykes' payroll'. As Mandalorian has shown with Moff Gideon kidnapping Grogu, personal stakes can really drive a protagonist to go the extra mile.

I dont know why but I was more crazy about seeing Bane than luke in the last episode.. i think its bc we already saw luke in the mandalorian... but when I saw Cad I was goin nuts at home 😱😱😱😱😱😄

After the last two episodes I’ve lost all faith they’ll actually give Temura his due and actually focus the narrative on Boba. If Cad actually enhances Boba’s story in a meaningful way I’ll be happy.

Episode was great saw it yesterday. The only thing that was missing when CAD walks up to the sheriff of his deputy is the Sergio Leone music. Yeah I hope they keep him around for a while he's a great bad guy. Think the hat could have been a little wider though

I think if a duel ever happens Boba will show he's the bigger person now, not just who's the best assassin, so he may just disarm Bane and let him go because that moral impact would hit harder to his ego than any deadly blaster shot.
