As a S5ii user I'm definitely getting a S9 because I understand what its made for. I understand you about gear videos though

Yeah, like I said, most people are saying it's a camera that's fine. Nothing crazy, nothing awful. If it fits your use case you should get whatever you like regardless of what anyone says. It just made me think more about the state of camera gear releases in general 🙂

I really like your channel. Keep it up. I have an old Canon C100 camera I bought almost 15 years ago. And Im going to buy a Sony camera now. But I have a limited budget. So Im looking at Sony A6700.

😂After the exclusive new "LUT" button there's not much left to add to a camera. Maybe a little hot shoe fan that I can clip on top so it cools me down in summer idk hahahah

Yeah, there are definitely some things that brands can improve upon but those will also reach a point where they're good enough. Kinda don't like the idea of Ai features in cameras much personally though 😅

One problem with camera gear videos is that the people who do them think they're Rembrandt and have the lights turned down low so that you can barely make out the gear on the table in front of them, most of which is black so hard to see in the first place. Those videos are as dark and unwatchable as as a modern movie. Why don't they turn the lights up and throw a blanket over the gear if they don't want people to see the stuff they're talking about?

People are like~ Sony FX30 has no viewfinder = Good Video Camera Design. Lumix S9 has no viewfinder = Fucking stupid camera.

Depends on who you ask. All of this stuff is very subjective. Also matters who each of those is marketed towards. But I definitely agree there a lot of double standards when it comes to camera features 😅

So much waffle about this S9. Panasonic : "what can we remove from the S5II and still call it a camera..." no dual SD- slot ... no viewfinder ... can only shoot 15 minutes at a time in 4K (not so great for concerts) ... no cooling ... no mechanical shutter (so no flashlight possible) ... no headphone output ... no decent grip but available in many colours... Anyone thinking to buy this S9 will be frustrated in the end, they can better use an expensive smartphone directly instead of sending pictures to it from the S9. Also, a LUT button does not mean your movie is "edited", it just gets a different (pleasing ?) colour.

Yeah, totally agree. Seems like a very underwhelming camera yet I've mostly heard the good things about it. But it just brought up a bigger issue about camera gear in general in my mind 😅

@@georgekamenov_ People who have videos ready on the very day a camera (or other gear) is announced are in the pocket of the manufacturer, often misleading gullible people.

Does Sony ZV-E1 still a Camera to You when it no dual SD- slot ... no viewfinder ...no cooling and only 12MP pixel? for 2000 USD ?

@@jimmyliu7390 Well no, but we are not bombarded with positive "reviews" from people that would never buy the Sony ZV-E with their own money, like we are with this S9. The fact that Panasonic puts this in their 'S' series hints at a professional quality, while we all know that it will just require a lot more work in post to get professional results with such a toy. The "lens" of the S9 has a fixed aperture and no autofocus, a smartphone does better. And sending stuff to a smartphone from a camera is just an extra step for people already using their smartphone to make RU-vid videos. I can understand Panasonic trying to milk that influencer market, but the people who gave the S9 an aura of a cheap S5II are just selling their credibility, I have unfollowed everyone who posted a video with a big smile and holding the S9 as the holy grail.
