As a lucid dreamer, I sometimes have the slow running problem too. But you can use forced perspective to displace yourself great distances without actually walking.

As a variation on the slow running and weak punching, I have found that gun owners often have dreams where they attempt to fire a gun but the trigger is too hard to pull, or the bullets fall harmlessly from the end of the barrel, or strike their intended target with no effect.

It's weird too, it's almost like you still have the energy and power to run/punch, but you're not able to use it. Sometimes it's almost like you're in low gravity.

I've experienced both the running and punching things. Sometimes when I have a dream where I can't punch hard, I end up trying to kick whoever I'm fighting in said dream. But I end up also kicking irl while I'm sleeping. The reason I know this is because I've woken up from the pain of me having kicked the wall my bed is next to from me kicking in the dream and irl. I've also woken up from this as I was accidentally yeeting my cats off the bed from a sudden kick.

When i tend to lucid dream instead of it skipping the part of me dying i live through it, and once i actually die my consciousness just separates and the dream keeps going as i become just a watcher inside my own dream. Kinda like dreaming in a dream but you know you're dreaming in a dream.

For me I’ve steadily became stronger to a 1:1 ratio to my strength in real life in my dreams. It started when I got overwhelmed by emotions enough where I would grit my teeth in my dream and then bam, I started slowly becoming stronger throughout dreams. Pretty interesting.

Ive made my self capable of controlling my dreams, sometimes it was like a game. When i was about to die, i just summoned a menu screen and reset. I remember doing that when i had a dream that someone was trying to shoot me, and they hit me in the head and the most weird thing was that the pain was not imediate it was slowly increasing just like in real life.

My theory: Because your body is paralyzed while you are asleep, your arm not being able to physically move, while you're "punching" in the dream, sends a signal to your brain that your arm is not moving, which then causes resistance to movement in your dream.

I have experienced that. It feels like there is a tremendous amount of drag on my fist and arms when I punch or when I try to run it feels like I'm suddenly very very heavy. I often have dreams with characters I don't recognize, contrary to what the video said. I also have dreams that are very detailed with vivid colors and sometimes plots and twists.

Sometimes I can't even move when I need my legs to run in dreams.

I have had dreams in which I "died" after falling from somewhere, usually my "death" consisted of no longer being able to move but still seeing/hearing/being conscious. The dream always ended very shortly after.

I had a similar dream, but instead of not being strong enough, I was overpowered and they didn’t stand a chance hand to hand, but while I was distracted fighting...they killed the ones I love, and left me exhausted, heartbroken, and with all that power and still couldn’t save the ones I care about...

Here's my observations for your perusal: -I can fight in dreams, but guns and explosions are useless. -If I can't run, I can crawl, against great resistance, by grabbing tufts of grass and digging my feet in. Even though I'm moving horizontally, the mental effort required to move this way is equivalent to climbing a ladder in waking reality. There is always grass available when I need this technique. -I cannot commit acts of evil in a lucid dream. If I try, the dream will end abruptly, and I won't dream anymore during that sleep session. If I go into a dream with the intention of trying to commit an act of evil, there's always an apocalyptic environment.

My personal theory is the lack of sensory feedback to validate dream actions. We can’t feel the floor, so how can we push off, as there is nothing pushing back in order for us to move forward. No sensation, no Newton’s third law… no power

I had a controle on my dreams many times, i do it by thinking not only about one thing i would think all the day but thinking about many different things, this helps me to control my dreams.

For me, I’ve always been able to run fast. Occasionally I might run slow, but I’m usually fast. But the thing I got in place of it is the feeling that I’m standing on a trampoline or something naturally hard to stand on where my feet sink down. It makes me unbalanced to the point where my movements are weak and slow. It’s weird.

Once when I was like 5 I had a dream Buzz Lightyear was chasing me up the stairs but I was too slow and he shot me.

Had a nightmare where I tried to use my rifle to defend against a psychotic attacker. When I tried to pull the charging handle, I felt a ton of friction and resistance and the bolt wouldn't go all the way back, I couldn't load the gun and got killed.

I always have this one night terror, I’m in my neighborhood I grew up in, walking down the street that seems longer than it really is to the bus stop, I see familiar faces, of people I once knew, faces look almost distorted, full of sadness, faces of people who sadly aren’t around anymore, ever so often between the sea of faces I can’t help but peek into the woods next to me, and every other time I glance I see a pair of glowing eyes, I always feel this sense of fear crash into me like a wave, I end up shrugging it off, and continue to walk, but whenever I decide to stop and look behind me, everyone I just passed are on the ground, all unmoving, almost like corpses, eventually after what feels like hours of torment, I reach the bus stop, everyone who isn’t currently on the ground, looks at me and tells me “it’s not your fault” they repeat this as the figure from the woods ends up dragging them in, I can’t move, I’m only forced to watch as they repeat “it’s not your fault” “It’s not your fault” hauntingly, I can’t seem to ever get a good enough glimpse of the creature before it jumps at me, throwing me to the ground, before it hit the ground I always wake up in a cold sweat, I talked to someone, they aren’t a professional, but they gave me a good idea, the people who ended up buried were people who I wanted to, or did hurt, and the reason I was last is because I hurt myself the most.

Woah. Explained a lot to me. I had multiple as a kid where im underwater in a bus trynna brake the window but punches weak af.. in different sequels there are known people with me, while in other total strangers. Weird is that i do hold my breath in real world for 1 2 mins while dreaming this and waking up when my air ends. 🤷‍♂️

I’ve always been able to do this and I thought it was normal. But I have a tip to get out of a bad dream. Start blinking your eyes in the dream nonstop. Then I wake myself up by blinking continuously like in my dream. Doing this has always worked for me.

I have had only one lucid dream in my life and it was amazing. I was skydiving and i would never fall with gravity. I was legit flying and viewing the city above like a bird soaring through the wind. I could control where i went, and i knew it was a dream. It was so amazing i wish i didn't wake up.

The way to control your dream you have to speak out in sound, like saying stop, punch, and run; do this you can manipulate certain aspects in the environment. Its like a game with borders you can't leave there's, only what you imagine unconsciously but you can also expand the border; the way how I did it was through a mentor in my dream when I got myself in a losing situation the figure popped up and told me to speak out my words I use telepathy which is an inferior way to communicate by itself unless you use both spoken words and telepathy for an alpha tone to push the word to action which got me a win; thats how I defeated my first dream bully and went to another section in my dream bank.

Ive seen research being done about VR gaming is bridging the gap between dreaming regularly and lucid dreaming where you can control it without waking up... Obviously its hard to determine whether the dreamers are being truthful about dreaming especially in this day and age where dreaming is becoming less and less frequent than it use to be.
