Also some people theorized that CN City bumpers were a big influence on Ben Bocquelet and influence the style of Amazing World of Gumball the show Bocquelet created
Exactly, blame Codename Kids Next Door and Billy And Mandy for that, because they're ugly disgraces to Courage The Cowardly Dog and fans of Totally Spies.
@@daniel.d.roberts6850 1. KND and B&M had nothing to do CN City's abandons. 2. Courage The Cowardly Dog was still aired it during the whole era and it was cancelled in 2002 during the Powerhouse era. 3. How on earth are they ugly disgraces to fans of Totally Spies when they most likely never complain about these two shows.
I think one of the reasons They haven't brought CN City back despite its popularity is because they don't know how to update CN City like new CN city bumper must include shows that premiere after the original ones
Maybe they can keep and reuse the old CN City bumpers while make new bumpers for new show instead of making a new one completely. CN City bumper still looks great and has aged greatly even it from 2004, so they could've kept the CN City era for a bit longer till in late 2008 when the Noods era debuted.
Yeah I could see this being the case, also I think people would just complain about it today anyways. Could you imagine teen titans go characters walking around CN city? People would complain about how the old days were better
@@Childishju Yeah, maybe 2008 would've been a fitting year to end CN City. If the CN City era kept going today, people will complain that it went for too long or having TTG & CN Real characters in the era. Plus, we would be missing out of other eras like the Noods and Check it.
You know this could have been summed up with: it was too expensive But honestly the bumpers where iconic but CN city deserved Better also... they could use these bummers if they have a dedicated segment for reruns
The CN City may have left us, but it will NOT be forgotten. I still had those awesome memories being in the city with the characters just living their lives.
I guess it’s relatively short time on air (as well as what followed it) is why I have almost no memory of CN City. Seriously, upon seeing your poll, I had no idea what CN city was (and still have no idea what that “check it” thing is. But upon watching this I’m now recalling very vague memories of it. I have very strong memories of the powerhouse era and have always believed it was CN at its peak. Maybe I’d have appreciated CN City a bit more if I remembered more of it, but in my mind it’s like, we had the powerhouse era, and after that CN just kinda fell off the wagon.
No I completely understand where you’re coming from. The powerhouse era was incredible and it brought us so many things, so I can understand powerhouse standing out over the other eras. But I did recommend looking into the bumpers of the other eras because they all have something special to offer! And I appreciate your comments!
I know I pretty much already said this in another comment on your videos, but I would be in full support of there being a full on CN 90's/2000's crossover show. Just like City, Powerhouse and even CCF, though with complete storylines and hopefully more cross-show character interaction to make even more use out of the shared setting. It's already been proven with FusionFall and Jellystone!, in different aspects, that it would be amazing in the right hands and execution. Even a fan-project, if it can't be made officially. Of course, I'm currently really busy with Ed Edd n' Eddy Rétro Future as of typing, but if anyone else is working on it, I will happily join and help them for free, with whatever I can do.
2:33 Thats not an accurate description of the era. There were MANY variations of the "coming up next" bumpers. The buff man was just one out of like 15. On top of that, the character bumpers were mainly original animations created specifically for the bumper. There were a few recycled scenes, but they were all original for the most part.
Yeah I’m aware that there were many different bumpers, and I appreciate y’all for calling that out but I really just mentioned what was most nostalgic to me personally. If this video was about the powerhouse era I would have went into far more detail about everything that came of it. But this video wasn’t about that (I’m sure I’ll make a powerhouse video eventually) it was about CN city. So of course the other eras aren’t gonna get as much detail when I’m talking about them in a video that wasn’t made for them. Hope that clears things up a little. No need to argue we’re all animation fans at the end of the day:)
I enjoyed the City era, but I preferred the era right before where cartoons were going into work and not necessarily living in this one city together. The city wasn't even that special in design. I liked imagining the cartoons were coming in from their own universe.
Tbh even I do miss cn city, in some ways I’m kinda glad that it ended considering that if it did continued it slowly become not as interesting and considering the network was entering the Bronze Age in the late 2000s it would have featured the more polarizing/divisive shows like Johnny Test(at the time), and the live-action series like Out of Jimmy’s Head and Destroy Build Destroy into the cn city bumpers, it best to end it on a good note
As much as I love and admired the powerhouse era, CN city just like multiverse and avengers infinity war had took many fans to a place where it’s like a dream to which you wish you can be a part in to what the channel was made for, until the yes era made a person feel like they were about to have a seizure every time cheese and Fredburger pop up like they overstayed their welcome. If Jim samples had never stepped down due to the Boston bombscare of hype for aqua teen hunger force, CN city could’ve gone much longer.
Agreed on everything. Powerhouse's "Best Place for Cartoons" was more of a meta thing, that played with the concept of them being actors instead of authentic happenings. As much as I find them fun in their own right, I prefer CN City's approach several times over.
Dude! Your audio and voice has improved!!! It makes me genuinely excited to see you keep creating and keep trying. AAAA keep swimming bro you are doing the damn thing also your top comment section T_T !!!!
The people that watched it grew up and by 2007 - 2013 CN tried to got live action and this didn't go well As the whole gimmick of cartoon network was they were a station that showed cartoons 24/7
Another reason why Cartoon Network Abandon CN City is because the Cartoon Network Studio Headquarters was shut down by Warner Bros Discovery back in August 2023.
That makes no sense because the CN City era was discontinued in April 2, 2006 in it's primary branding and in May 31, 2007 in it's secondary branding. Which is 16-17 years before Cartoon Network Studio moved to a new building. And the CN City bumpers were made by Animal Logic, not Cartoon Network Studio. So it was unrelated to that.
First off, the studio didn’t shut down, they moved to a new building. Second, WBD has nothing to do with CN building situation. This was a decision made by the previous management of WB back when they were known as “WarnerMedia” and the person who made this decision is named Jason Kilar. And the new building did took 3 years to construct Plus, Brian A. Miller said on twitter that they were paying rent for the Burbank building for 20 years which is probably one of the reasons why they want to move.
i think some countries counterparts have had their take on cartoon network city, even after 2007 in any shape and form with bumpers, idents, and even promos. sure, while some are much different from 2004-2007 (sometimes without the cgi city). at least it follows a similar formula like it.
@@thehedgehoggamer8471 I had this idea months ago and put it on a couple community polls but no one would vote for it to be the next video. It’s still one I want to do though
@@swiftstreak98 I hear you, I truly do. But the beauty of CN city to me was the fact that every cartoon character had a place there. Didn’t matter if the show was considered good or bad, they all make up an important piece of CN history and deserve to be acknowledged for it. So I’d love to see everyone there personally
