On Carnivore for 40 days and tonight is the dutch version of Trick or treat, had to buy candy for the kids who go by the door, and yes there is this wispering voice in the back of my head saying;"you can just eat all the leftovers tonight...." so I know I have to throw them out as soon as all the kids have gone by, no other way
Day 102 here. I'm 63 and desperate to heal on every level. Two years ago, my abusive covert narcissist husband passed away in the pandemic. He was not my only problem (27 years of his crap!) but my incorrect coping had me up to 316 lbs, type 2 diabetes and heart attacks to name a few. I haven't been perfect, but in the last 102 days, I've reversed diabetes, lowered my blood pressure, healed a brain artery clog and its subset of symptoms...and lost 43 pound. Rome wasn't built in a day - I have a long way to go yet! Thank you, Kelly for this inspiration! ❤ Love from ❤Texas!❤
Testimony: Started Carnivore in the summer at 245lbs. 60yrs old w/ 3 diabetic shots (A1c 8+), one BP pill, a statin, and pretty much expecting to die at work before I could hope to retire. Today, 11/11/23... NO shots, no BP pill (regularly about 100/69 now), no statin (as I understand importance of cholesterol now), A1c three weeks ago is 5.4, and I weigh 203lbs. I have not seen that weight since about 10th grade, 40+ yrs ago. Carnivore... it is more than hope!
I was desperate! Now: no more stomach issues! No more pain in my knees, back, neck! No more continual anxiety! Everything is so much better. I joined the gym, and am seeing gains - at 63 years old. And yes, I lost weight; that's nice, too. But the health benefits are the absolute best best best.
You literally talked me off a wall today…very hard emotional day and I was literally driving around town heading for a Culver’s for a concrete mixer…while listening to this video. It was the first time since eating this way that I felt “justified” by my emotions and circumstances and stress to cave to my cravings. Instead, I headed to the store and picked up a steak and some shrimp and now feel very satisfied and thankful I didn’t eat the junk…thanks Kelly. Loved this video. 🥰
I really wish Culvers would give you a reasonable deal on plain beef patties. I’ve tried to order them more than once and they tell me $3 a patty. Um, no. That’s as much as a burger just without the bun. Not such a deal. Sounds like McD’ does $1 burger patties but, it’s McD’s
I had no idea what Culvers and concrete mixer meant! I thought you were telling us you were going to drown yourself! Ok, it isn't suicide, it is fast food (a slower suicide!
@@michellelofblad8575 I suprisingly dont have too much loose skin. My body composition still changed after I've reached my goal weight. I jokingly said that all my fat finally settled. I started excercing at home with dumbbells and a kettlebell a few months after I changed my way of eating. I also put a big spoon of colllagen powder in my coffee every morning. Maybe that helped?
@@michellelofblad8575 look up Jason Fung. Fasting combined with slightly less protein/more fat helps getting rid of loose skin. Skin contains a lot protein, you need your body to enter autophagy and break down the protein in the skin to use it.
Sugar sober for 1.5 years now. Praise God! Stop all tastes of sweet and load up on adequate protein and good satiating fat! Besides all the health benefits and weight loss, THE VERY GREATEST PART OF THIS JOURNEY HAS BEEN THE FREEDOM FROM THE SELF CONDEMNATION!!! writing this at the end of a 10 day vacation where no sugar was consumed. Love going home without that feeling of total disgust! Couldn’t have done this without God and the support of the carnivore community💕💕 Just start with one day at a time.
All I do is read positive comments like yours because I have a hard time missing sugar/ my old friend/my comfort. Today I walked by the bakery, the smell was overwhelming at the point where I almost got high. The old me (now on day 40 of Carnivore) would have bought the delicious banquet bar filled with marzipan and munch on it all night long...please tell me it gets easier? 🥺
Can you do a keto treat once in a while instead of full plunge into a pastry. I find eating a coconut or almond flour keto desert holds me over and squashes more cravings. They taste terrible and keep me from wanting more after just one bite or serving...lol @@Suzanne-goes-Carnivore
If you're still having cravings, you're not eating enough fat. Bella (steakandbuttergal) eats at least a stick of butter a day, Dr. Elizabeth Bright recommends the same, and Stephanie Person suggests that we aim for 200g of total fat each day. My cravings didn't go away until I took all their advice seriously and started tracking my fat, and consistently reaching 200g a day. Now I'm actually repulsed by the same foods I used to crave. I've finally gotten into deep ketosis, and finally broken a five month weight stall. Seriously, give it a try!
After cycling on and off Keto and then Carnivore, I've finally found a sustainable (for me) way of eating. It's pure Carnivore all week but on Friday and Saturday nights, I allow myself an Apple with no-sugar-added peanutbutter and a couple glasses of wine. Maybe once per month, I allow myself either some pizza or some ice cream. I was 172lbs before and 148lbs now and I feel 100% better.
Sounds awesome because a chocolate free life...I can't imagine! I have only been on Cdiet for 8 days and have lost 6 lbs but I'm freaking out thinking about eating only 1 Hershey kiss..wondering if I do..will I end up at McDonald's ordering 2 milkshakes or worse!!😂😢
My husband was just diagnosed with bone cancer. This is what is giving us motivation to start carnivore. Thank you, Kelly, for your honesty and uplifting talks. I appreciate you.
Ice cream was my comfort... carnivore is my saviour.. As an 82 year old female who has struggled all my life with numbing my feelings with food, carnivore is the only time cravings go away and I'm in control. Thank you for your message of Hope ❤
I lost 55 pounds, then got into the carbs in a big way and gained 121 pounds. I restarted the carnivore diet and decided to break away from carbs totally. I am not on civil or cordial terms with them, no way. The problem for me was telling myself that on occasion I could have a cookie here or there. Only that the "occasional" turned into a few times a week and it wasn't just one cookie. I would go on a cookie bender, come up for air and claim, "never again!" Saying there's absolutely no time I will ever have them has helped me get back on track as the response I have to them now is always "hell no! Absolutely not!" and not "Maybe, perhaps, um maybe just this once...." I discovered I do better going cold turkey.😁🦃
Your an addict sister sorry it’s not an ugly word it’s a fact!remember it’s a physical and mental chemical reaction your brain keeps saying I’m here I can end all your pain ,come come just one today ! No is the correct response . Neisha made these yummy looking butter and bacon tarts 😃and you to can make them and eat some after your ribeye! You don’t have to listen to that mean voice in your head! Call someone get a buddy don’t do this alone! Stop hiding ok ? Not easy but yes you know you can do it .past is past . Today is all any of us have! Stay in this day tu I’ll bed ! Viola ! You did it ❤
cold turkey is the ONLY way I can do it. Give me one and I'll finish them all off. Without any, I do great. Extremely low carb since 8 months. No cookies, pies cakes, bread, noodles, rice.... NONE. Only 1/4 of an apple or some berries besides eggs and meat.
I lost 200 pounds on paleo/keto from Jan 2018 to July 2019. I went over 2 years without sugar, then one day I took a bite of my grandson's mini ice cream cone and it was over. I quickly gained back 160 lbs. I'm a sugar addict, and just like an ex junkie can't take just one small hit of heroin, neither can a sugar addict take a small bite of sugar. Today I'm fasting and starting paleo/keto again, then on New Year's Day 2024 I'm starting carnivore, February I will do lion diet. I've tried carnivore before and had issues with very low blood glucose levels (miraculously I'm not diabetic), so I'm hoping doing keto for a few weeks first will help.
Going back to carb eating after been on Carnivore for any length of time is akin to falling off the wagon when drinking. People who are confused just need to start eliminating starches, bread, grains, seed oils first while replacing these foods with more meat. Then after a while dump fruit and veggies full of oxilates and other harmful things. You don't have to go crazy at first and eventually you will get there. Keto is fine but Carnivore is better. More important, is educate yourself so you understand how eating works inside your body.
@@ketoauntie7301 I didn't forget sugar, thought that was a gimme. Even with Keto you can jump on the carb hamster wheel with cravings. This is why Carnivore is the easiest, softer way after the initial shock of eating only meat, butter, and eggs. Thanks for your input.
@Yorkcapeneddick yes they are. Fruits especially because your body does not utilize fructose, goes directly to fat stores. Young people can tolerate them more while still suffering with sugar cravings. Older people need to stop using plants because their body has been fighting them for many years, their body is not as efficient as it once was, and fat, no matter what people have been told, is not healthy and is not a product of age. Fatness is a product of eating wrong. Saturated fat from beef is healing and is the choice the brain likes for energy and protein is rebuilding especially as you age.
I'm so happy to hear this video. I had been so focused on my carnivore. One day while having an UBER stressful day, I went to Walmart and bought a bunch of Choczero milk chocolate hazelnut "bark." It was almost like I couldn't stop. I've been back into eating those "keto" sweets about a month now like an IDIOT!
@@Aslanreturn You can always get off the hamster wheel and all the cravings that go with it. Don't flogg yourself and next stressful day. Breath in through your nose and out of your mouth and every breath release that stress. I am single, 68, retired, and work out lifting weights 6 days a week but I remember the stressful days when I was in the rat race. My stress reliever was wine, lots of wine, 😂. Today I am free of all that. Thanks for sharing.and start again.
Weighed 306 pounds on March 31st. Started 30 days carnivore May 5th. Lost 20 pounds by May 29th. Lost 40 pounds by July 6th. Lost 80 pounds by September 28th. I weigh myself about every two weeks. I don't obsess about anything at all although I do love starting my day with a ribeye whenever I can. So far, I have resisted any urge to cheat on this diet. My family has tried several times to tempt me into eating something inappropriate, but I know it won't end well. All I have to do is look in the mirror to reinforce that this is working and I don't want to fall off the horse. I want to shed about 40 more pounds to achieve the weight I was 23 years ago when I was a soldier. I was mortified to learn I gained 117 pounds since 2000.
After my wife died from a rare complication of the complications of diabetes, I wanted to be sure I didn't go down the same road. Two and a half years ago I found Lillie Kane and Steak and Butter Gal and My Zero Carb Life! Carnivore has been very, very good for me. I just wish my wife had taken this idea seriously when she first heard of it more than ten years ago.
I started keto seven years ago. At the time it was so hard to find ANY information about how to do keto. Back then we didn’t know what we know now. I’m sure with your present knowledge you would’ve been more persuasive. That was then this is now. Your example will help others. I am presently carnivore and took many years to get to this point. It is a journey that we all face. So happy for you that you have found this way of eating!
The Carnivore Diet saved my life, I have lost #150 over the last 18 months but now my body wants carbs again but then when I do increase carbs the weight starts coming back and so does the pain from my firefighting injuries so my lesson learned is Carnivore for me needs to be for life and Carbs are Bad! 🍩☠☠
Whenever I see sugar and carbs I see the poison that killed my mother from diabetic complications. Watching her pass away in the hospital was enough to make me stay away from the bad stuff. I had a severe addiction to sugar.
Man, it took eating meatloaf - 70-30, wrapped in bacon swimming in fat, drinking that fat, to finally kill that craving. Now, 2 weeks later I have control!! Thank you God for all your Grace. Kelly, your energy gives me hope - THANK YOU 😀
You really hit the nail on the head emphasizing the importance of desperation as a motivator for change. And combined with hope you will find a way out of pain. I did. Over 150 days carnivore and feeling great! 🎉
I’m sitting listening to this after a toast binge at 1am in the morning. Staying up late is never a good idea. In 2022 I lost 50 lbs, 11 months later I’ve gained 20 lbs back! I’m devastated I swore I’d never regain after a fasting regime and going no processed food and low carb, I even did a few weeks of carnivore. But now I’m back on some carbs, mainly fruit vegetables and bread, because my husband wanted homemade bread to avoid seed oils and it’s so hard to resist the smell of freshly made bread and the loaf sits there all day, I’ve tried hiding it, but it’s a battle! Maybe I’ll break the bread maker😅. I don’t want to go back, I loved being slimmer, why can’t I kick these addictions. It’s been such a stressful year. My frontal lobe has taken a holiday. I need to tell my limbic system to take a hike. Thank you Kelly for the tips, love your videos.
I buy my eggs and meat at the supermarket, but wow what a temptation ride that is for me strolling down the isles with my almost empty cart. (I always feel so sorry for myself at that point haha) What helps is looking at what people automatically throw in their carts and look at their size and overall health. But the colours, the packages, the smells, everything is designed for temptation isnt that terrible? Good luck, know you are not alone
It is a lot harder to do this when you have others to feed. I have kids and an elderly family member to feed and none of them are low carb. It seems like someone is always eating something around here and it all looks good 🙁
I'm in the exact same boat. The homemade bread is the worst. Also, having to cook a lot of my favourite carbs every day is like a recovering alcoholic being a bartender. It would be so much easier if I could just clean all the carbs out of my environment. It's exhausting having to use willpower all day every day, and I often just give in. At least we know what to do and how to do it for when we get desperate enough to try again.
@@Jane-yg3vz I know its easy for me to say, as I living alone...but does the cook not decide what is on the table? And who ever doesn't agree can make their own dinner? 🙌
Thank you Kelly. I’m 11 months in and doing much better but not making the progress I wish I was making but I do remind myself how many things are better. Like last Thursday I was taking one of my cats (Raymond) (Everybody Loves Raymond) to the Emergency Hospital late at night and I realized that my night blindness is gone. Never did I think through all of this my eyesight would improve so much. You are such an inspiration.
About 2 weeks ago, I went from carnivore to clean keto. Even only eating 20 grams of total carbs a day, I gained 8lbs and struggling with constipation! I'm so mad at myself! Lesson learned...
@@private9013what is the issue if not the clean carbs? Sounds like this person was doing well on carnivore until adding in clean carbs. I’m not being snarky … I would really like to understand.
Seeing kelly h 57 days ago when starting carnivore ! It has changed my mother and mines life!!! She has stopped blood pressure and statin medicine and skin condition has cleared up. All inflammation gone in us both ! Both have lost 22 lbs each and we are mentally happier than ever! I’m 52 and my mother is 77!! Carnivore is awesome ❤
Just like you I am 52 and my Mum is 77. I am exactly 4 weeks in to my carnivore journey and my blood glucose levels have really improved and stopped spiking. My Mum used to do low carb, but got bored and has gone back to eating biscuits, ice cream etc. Her meals are good, it's all the snacking that's a big issue. Also she has diabetes now because her 2 pancreatitis attacks years ago have damaged her pancreas, so she is on insulin. I love my Mum and want her to stay around as long as possible, but her health is declining. I despair of being able to get her interested in wanting to help herself again.
I started keto and low carb. Start eating Whole Foods with less than five ingredients. And slowly go carnivore. I was diabetic and on insulin. Go very slowly if you are on meds and do very much let your doctor know and which meds to stop first. Be careful. But I am so much better now and off all meds. It can be done. I am off the couch and having fun. Thanks Kelly
I finally started carnivore after being keto off and on. In just 7 days I lost 7 lbs, my blood sugar went from 200 to 124 and my ketones are up to 1.4. All in one week! Great to have positive reinforcement
I just started Carnivore 11 days ago. I researched this new way of eating for 4 months before I started. I heard about it through Joe Rogan in a podcast he did. Then I found you, Dr. Berry, Dr. Baker and a few others. I must say, you inspired me the most. I am so thrilled to embark on this new journey, already sleeping great and mood stabilizing is starting to happen. I am 51 and going through menopause right now, which is quite the ride. My hot flashes have decreased some, my mood has already started to level out which is amazing. I would like to thank you for putting out videos for us, you are such an inspiration! Thank you so much Kelly ❤
I'm also 51 and going through the change. It IS quite the ride! I don't think any woman quite understands until they experience it :) Lousy sleep, hot flashes, and mood swigs are all things I'm just about desperate to change. I'm in the research phase right now and want to thank you for giving me hope. I can do anything for 11 days lol!
@@hlrapoza It's worth giving a try. I chose to commit to it for at least 90 days and go from there. Doing Keto for a month before seemed to help my transition into Carnivore go smoother. Glad to help anyone interested, all the best!
Ladies, my doctor said that coffee is a rude trigger to hot flashes. I reduced to 90% and I am feeling a great relief. Try it and come back to share your experience also.
I wish I had discovered carnivore 5 years ago when menopause started. I’ve been on a roller coaster physiologically and ended up in a perfect storm of menopause, twice Covid, adrenal fatigue, insomnia, newly diagnosed autoimmune disease and recently discovered enlarged thyroid. The last 5 years have been the toughest of my life. Going to a naturopath for the last four years, since last March I started going to a functional medicine doctor. Neither one of them have been any help to me and helping me get back on my feet. It’s all supplements and tinctures, etc. nothing has helped me. I always thought a a functional medicine doctor, and a natural path were supposed to pay attention to the symptoms and find the root cause. But neither one of these doctors have any interest in doing that. So now I am taking it all into my own hands and started watching Dr. Berry’s‘s Videos and Neish’s videos and I’m finally convinced about this diet and I started it about four days ago. My hope and prayer is that this diet will become a lifestyle and will clear up all of my physiological problems, Lord willing.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This was a timely message I needed to hear. I’ve been really struggling with cravings and self control and praying for God to take away my desire for carbs and sweets. Venting, crying to my husband and hating that I have in. Boy oh boy thank you for this
Same same same I am at day 40, but I cheated a little bit in the beginning until day 21, because I had yogurt with a squeeze of agave sirop. Since I am totally sugarfree, around 19 days now, the cravings began. At this point my lizzard brain says; "who cares, just become fat again, your life was fantastic because at least you got to eat whatever you wanted right?" I am fantasizing about my comfort food, but I dont want to cheat because I am afraid of going back completely...I quit nicotine, I quit coffee, but this sugar-addiction is really tricky...food is everywhere! the colours, the smell, the temptation! Arghhhhh thanks for venting, how many days are you off sugar? Have a great day!
Have either of you tried the herb Hoodia? I'm going to give it a shot to see if it helps with my insane appetite. I'm also thinking/hoping Gymnema helps with the sugar cravings. It's so crazy how we can convince ourselves that mouth pleasure is worth giving up everything else for.
@@sitcomchristian6886they don’t work. There are all sorts of herbal concoctions, but the best way out of the cravings is the admission that it’s an addiction, and ONLY refusing to put that stuff in your mouth works. It gets easier with a little time. I tried the gymnema sylvestre, the hoodia, the Herbalife, etc, and all of the “everything in moderation” arguments you hear from dietitians… the answer is simple. JUST SAY NO.
I think you made this video for me. ❤ I fell off carnivore after 6 months of beautiful strict meat, salt, butter and water. I lost 25 lbs, hit a stall for a couple of months, added daily walking and started seeing the scale finally moving again. Then I crashed, HARD. I've been full of carbs and sugars for the last month and have gained back 10 pounds. The cravings are REAL and the convience of easy access to carbs is causing so much self sabotage. Super frustrating.
i was doing good, but lost 3 pets within 9 months. (Old age. That's what can happen when you get 3 kittens at the same time.) Grief is such an awful emotion and people don't understand when "it's just an animal". So, it's just too easy to turn to sweets and carbs just to numb-out.
I know. I crashed for a year, and gained all the weight back. Realized that I had been under-eating the first time round - as I was used to starving myself to lose weight. (Lost a lot of hair and muscle too. And my hands were always cold.) But starving is unsustainable in the long run, and deficit made me go on a binge. Now back on Carnivore, with three meals a day, plus extra fat. Plus a daily walk. No hair loss, or muscle loss, and my hands are warm. I don't step on the scales every day, but can feel my body changing, and getting stronger. This time, I'll do it right.
Love you Kelly ❤. Your videos and dr Ken Barry's are the motivators I started this life style . I am in my day 73 of carnivore diet . I lost 33 pounds and I feel great , Not hungry and really in good energy level. Thank you so much and I wish all the best for your beautiful family.
3rd day on carnivore and all my issues went away. IBS for 10 months, joint inflammation, anxiety/depression (always crying) due to perimenopause hormonal imbalances. Im a healthy person overall, 49, but couldnt sit down, without standing up and "ow owing" all the way to straightening up, couldnt bend down with my knees for longer than 1 min. With anxiety/depression, felt a huge anguish that would want to paralyze me emotionally, where i would have to stop, breathe, and analyze i was ok and wouldnt die. It was such a huge anguish that i would constantly cry and felt i carried the pressures of the world 🌎 on my shoulders. Now im free of those and can finally feel i can breathe and be "normal" 😂
I'm turning 60 in a few weeks, I'm 300 pounds and suffering with some serious health issues for the first time in my life. I have been researching and watching carnivore videos for weeks now and am convinced it will help me. The way you described the "lizard brain" and the frontal lobe fighting each other gives me a visual that I can picture and use in weak moments. This is truly the first time in my life I feel so hopeful and empowered. Thank You is not sufficient. You are saving lives.
@@MajesticArtimus many people have done this (eat normal food!) and it didn't work, current research shows that calories in/ calories out does not necessarily work for weight loss. Then you need to take into account the benefits of removing plants on health conditions. Certainly removing junk food, processed food, sugar, carbs will help but it doesn't necessarily work for everything or everyone. I had tried all the healthy eating plans for many years, no fat, no sugar or processed foods at all but no improvements. I started to get results on carnivore within a few weeks, reduction in pain, reduction in many other symptoms. From time to time I try and introduce a fruit or vegetable but so far have found symptoms increase within a day or two. My husband is also now carnivore and his IBS and snoring resolved in two weeks! I would say Why not try carnivore? especially when you have tried every other "conventional" method and they didn't work. Also meat is normal food.
@@MajesticArtimus I understand what you are saying, and all things being equal, I think everything in moderation is the way to go. But, if I could control my portion sizes, and was not a food addict, I would not be in my current situation. I have an extreme situation, and need an extreme solution.
@MajesticArtemus, clearly you have not experienced what many of us have. Would you tell a cocaine addict, an alcoholic, a poker addict “everything in moderation?” I sure hope not. Most of the Carnivores here tried that route 800 zillion times over. NOW we know how it feels to have food actually NOURISH us. It is a blessed feeling.
@@pandorar1388 "I have an extreme situation, and need an extreme solution." You nailed it! Dont do anyhting wishy washy at this point. I would recommend hearing what signs your body gives you though when going on a hard Keto or Carniore. Challenge your body but dont torture the body.
You are so on point for so many of us. Moderation is NOT key when a binge eater tries to limit food they know better than to eat. Two cookies? Huh try to packs of cookies! Thanks Kelly for using your experiences to help us.
Hope is here!!! 😂 We are Hopeful Carnivores! ❤ My back up plan is not ketovore. Satisfied and zero carb 28 days finally. It has only taken me two years of carnivore goals to be able to get into ketosis without migraines, but this time I finally did it. Never give up!❤
So. I was on IV meth for about 2.5 years. I’m very happy to say that I have over 3.5 years clean and sober from all of it. EXCEPT I got HUGE! So I’ve changed my diet and I worked out the first 2 years as often as I could… but my weight is still the same. I am trying SO HARD to have hope… but every time I workout now I lose energy and my hope goes out the window. I’m trying to get back into the habit of eating right and working out… but I’m constantly reminded of those 2 years of working out and eating right with 0 change. So my hope is there, but it’s hanging my a thread. 😢
If you could get free of meth, then you can do anything! You’ll get where you want to be. When I would see my favorite desserts and snacks in the grocery store I would tell myself “Next time.” But going Carnivore has worked. I gorged on butter, hamburger, eggs and other meat. It worked! I can now reject donuts and pastries without having to leave the breakroom at work. It’s been almost 4 months. I still have GI issues but I can time it now. I’ve lost 12 lbs which can help with my joints. My reason for going Carnivore was to help stop the arthritis. I do expect, Lord willing, that I’ll have enough control to take a few bites of carbs on a holiday.
ohmygosh thank you, thank you, thank you! Perfect timing! I have been struggling with my sugar addiction ever since Halloween when my kids brought home my favorite candy that they DIDN'T want... I swear I was only gonna have one! That slope is WAY more slippery than I remember. My joints are killing me and I KNOW it's from the carbs, but sugar addiction is REAL. Thank you for giving us these practical tips!
When you choose not to succumb... and then you wake up the next day and are so glad you didn't... that is powerful reinforcement to do the right thing. Frontal lobe's gotta be the boss.
You are such a positive spirit! Thank you for your truth and guidance! I was addicted big time! I literally did the donuts in the car (as you state in the video). Now, I don't need those things. I can say no thank you, "I don't do that anymore" (as I just said to my mil when she offered me some Reese's). I feel too good to go back!!
Kelly, you and people like you, are so needed to continue this healthy message. A one time chat is not enough. There are those of us who need regular reminders of Carnivore’s benefits.
Another great video, Kelly! Carnivore really has brought me so many benefits. I hope all the newbies that watch this are inspired and motivated! I hope they join Team Meat because it's a magical place!
I did it for 9 months felt incredible lost so much weight but I had a slip at Easter that first bite turned into 1 day, then weekend and have been binging ever since. Extreme addiction gained the weight back I know the crying daily is coming I don’t want to go out my clothes don’t fit again. I am so proud that I haven’t drank alcohol for 18 months but the sugar and binge eating is sooooo much harder.
@@helenalovelock1030 start again leave out the carbs. Don't have the sugar foods in the house or have them where you don't see them. If you think about sweets eat meat and fat. It's easier to say no to sugar if you aren't hungry. Best wishes
I started carnivore February 1, 2023, and am not going back. You and Dr. Ken Berry were the first two carnivores I watched, but I have enjoyed the whole community of keto/ketovore/carnivore folks on RU-vid. I still have occasional bowel issues, but so much has changed for the better. No more inflammation or aches and pains, I can actually travel without always having to know where the bathroom is, and my mind fog has cleared, I sleep better, and actually lost the stubborn belly and hip fat, and so much more. At 60, I feel like I did in my 20s. Thank you!
I am going to show my patients this video! You explain it so well. I am trying to help each of my patients heal from metabolic diseases one at a time.🥩🥩🥩
yeap, desperation did it for me :) 2 months mainly carnivore, I also have decaf, some homemade chocolate with honey, fermented cucumbers, olives, berries. It's a process, I will most likely need to experiment with only meat, salt and water. Transitioning from a healthier diet than the average - no processed foods, no gluten, no alcohol, no sugar but using alternatives. I didn't need to lose weight but need to solve some health issues. Results in 2 months: no more muscle and joints pain, IBS, cramps, loose stools gone (I have no gallbladder), more energy, a more clear mind, mood stabilized, anxiety significantly diminished. 2 days I eat more carbs, loose stools came back. When things go wrong is every time stress is up: bloating, tinnitus, anxiety up ,muscle tension . So, we also need to work on stress management - I practice meditation and Qiqong. Hope it helps!
Carnivore a month...kinda...lol. i went carnivore and 3 wks in I had an event for the weekend where we were served all kinds of food. I shoud have only eaten meat but put other stuff on my plate too. I dudn't eat much of anything, but I will tell you my joints ached so much I could barely walk. Immediately back on carnivore as soon as I got home. Lesson learned!! I love how you talk about the addiction of food. I am learning how to sit with the "feeling".
Lawd I needed this message today!!! I fail and I fail hard. Been eating cookies etc like theres no tomorrow. Feeling sick. Gut issues. Thanksgiving over and now a birthday party and Christmas coming up. My gift to me will be I'll be in control of myself. Not the evil surgar addiction I have telling me its ok to indulge in one small bite. That one small bite sends me into a tail spin then a horrible crash. Out of control eating and laziness. No more. I'm a cancer survivor and I know sugar feeds cancer. I must be crazy to feed that ugly monster. I need help...
Came across Carnivore, and yourself, as a way to lose some weight for my daughter’s wedding. Who wants to ‘diet’ and go hungry?? I couldn’t do it. One year on I’m a stone and a half lighter and have kept it off. Middle age spread gone! Crisps were my go to snack BUT three days after giving them up my body changed, it was that quick. I think the veg oil they’re cooked in was poisoning me and pretty much gave up seed oils from that point on. Also gave up bread (a huge craving for me), pasta, rice and limit sugar - I’m not perfect I still eat a little chocolate! Now, in Pilates I’m stronger, more flexible and feel really good at 53💪 Thanks for all your inspiration!
I lost 5 stone on carnivore over 9 months then I lost the plot at Easter back on extreme addiction it I’ve gained it back again and thinking why have I done this to myself yet again. I’ve doubled in size 😫😫😫😫😪😪😪😪
The nice part is that we know what to do. It doesn’t take long that once you start back into keto or carnivore that your cravings totally leave you. Don’t get me wrong. It’s still hard to start. Because we know the benefit and are convinced that this way of eating is the best way of eating, we will always come back to it. It gets easier EVERY SINGLE TIME! Take heart! You’ve got this! What has helped me on occasion is finding a friend to report to. Doesn’t have to be someone who follows your way of eating, just somebody who you would never lie to. If you tell them that you will send them a photo of everything you eat, and that you are staying true to your eating plan … you will do it! This tool has helped me. I hope it helps you! Good luck in your journey!
This video speaks volumes for me and my wife. We started on keto a few years ago out of desperation, got good results and then moved to carnivore six months ago and wow, was that a good move and we''ll stay carnivore. We've had slips along the way and Kelly is so right, very temporary reward, but the affects of those temporary slips linger for days and days.
Thank you Kelly. I needed this. I've watched it 3 times and this last time I took lots of notes. I'm going to carry this note pad around with me to study. By 'accident' I discovered you on July 19th this year (my 63rd birthday), two days after a doctor visit where I was told she would give me three months to get my A1c down below 7 and if I didn't she wanted me to go on diabetes meds. I weighed 197 and I'm 5'1". I went home and started looking into the keto diet which I had heard was good if you liked meat. I do. I came upon a Dr. Ken Berry's videos. They started out Keto, but then he went to a Carnivore diet. When I understood that he meant to eat only meat and meat products, I thought 'Oh no, this has got to be wrong.' But then he mentioned you and that you had been eating Carnivore for 12 or so years. So I RU-vid googled you. You helped change my life. I started eating Carnivore that day. It's been almost 5 months. It's the easiest 'diet' I've ever done. Down 40 pounds, 5.6 A1c, triglycerides around 160's (still high, but lower than they've ever been), and I'm on 1/4 of the blood pressure and water pill dosage I was before. My cholesterol went up, and now my doctor wants me to take meds for that. I said no. This video is great for me because although I haven't struggled a lot with cravings ( a miracle I credit to God ), this holiday season is starting to get to me. This is a hard time of the year to stay disciplined. The way you explained about the Lizard Brain and the frontal lobe made a very clear picture for me. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I had a really good 8 month streak on carnivore, then things got really busy, I was away from home and I had less time to plan my meals, so I started just eating what everyone else was eating… 3 months later and I feel like crap! I am finding it terribly difficult to get back on track. I start my day off well, but give in to carb cravings within a few hours! 😵💫😵😬
I had heard many years ago that our bodies will eat until we get the right nutrition and we end up fat if we put the wrong foods in first. I certianly saw that in my whole family, but could NOT figure out what I was missing. I listened to all the FDA advice, I got more veggies, I got more fruit, I never ate processed foods...and still I was hungry and overweight (not a lot) but my body kept wanting something more!!! It has only been since finding Carmivore, has my body settled down and I give it fatty meat and I just don't need something more...(occasionally I need more salt and a little salt water cures that). So frustrated that I spent years trying to find out what my body needed, while listening to plant based and FDA guidelines......
Thanks to you, Kelly and a few other influencers and professionals I have kicked my carb addiction. I am 6 months in with the carnivore lifestyle and I have lost 25 lbs. I’m almost at what I consider my best weight and I feel like I found the best way to eat for me and the conditions I was able to heal in my body. Thanks so much!
@@Suzanne-goes-Carnivore I m not exactly sure, but I do know that when I do eat, I eat until I’m full. When I have cravings in the evening I have a pinch of salt. That seems to quell any cravings. Also a piece of bacon, or a tablespoon of butter, some sparkling water. I hope that helps. 😊
not that your other videos are nothing less than excellent, but for this one, a new word should be invented in the English language to be able to adequately describe how amazing it is!
but why?! what did my avatar do to you? true, maybe it's not the best looking avatar, but avatars shouldn't be judged just by their appearance, anyway. they have souls, too.
Great video and right on time. I’m struggling so bad right now. I went keto a couple years ago and lost 20lbs and felt better than I ever have. I fell off after losing my job and have gained 15lbs back and feel like crap all the time. Developed problems I never had before, like binging, especially on sweets. I don’t know how to just stop. Easier said than done. Even having a great WHY to do so I haven’t been able to control myself. This is just like a really bad drug addiction.
Plan to get through just today - eat butter when cravings hit, go to bed early, go for walks. The cravings will diminish when you don't feed them - you can do it!❤
Healing the body as whole is key. Not only your outer appearance but your inner self. Start by being kind and gentle to yourself about regaining the weight. Understand that there's more than a little stacked against us daily. The food industry is making us fat and sick. Yes, accepting gracefully a personal responsibility; but then, find peace in learning how to eat well. Actually eating well takes a lot of research. As I suggested above; I found the way to health through reading a book called; The Plant Paradox. (I have nothing to benefit by telling you this) I simply would like to introduce you to something that gave me clarity. I am 58 years old and I have been on every "diet" known to man. Nothing stuck. I finally saw the book by the grace of God. Learning about self is key. Eating is not only a necessity; it is emotionally connecting to your inner being. I suggest also to learn about grounding, 111 sound frequency healing, herbal healing, praying, fasting (especially light intermittent fasting) The beauty of this is; you don't have to do it ALL to find help. You choose one; see how it feels for you and then you can move on. Through this you will find a way to remove the addictions from your life. Best to you.
@@eleven903 Thank you so much for your encouraging words and suggestions. It’s nice to hear from people who want better for themselves because people in my life around me could care less about their health. I love to research myself. I do have a grounding mat I use daily. ❤️ It just seemed so easy for me to get healthy the first time, but after falling off… it’s a whole other ball game. It’s so hard to get back. I know I can do it. I just have to figure it out.
You have to keep reminding yourself to stop. Do I want to heal or hurt? I am 60 and I have started this healing journey February 2020. I have to remind myself do I want to be healthy or do I want to eat poison. You can do this.
Thanks for mentioning hope in the motivation quotient. Scale victory this morning, I’m only one pound away from young adulthood weight. So excited and keeps me motivated to stay on track. Eating for true hunger and stopping when satisfied. Waiting until hungry again.
I'm just coming up on 90 days of ketovore. I've cheated a little on a couple Sunday evenings but no major binges. However I've spent 20 years yoyoing back and forth with Atkins, keto and intermittent fasting. How well I know the power of addictive foods.
You’re THE BEST Kelly!!! I love watching you and your highly informative, positive, funny and inspirational videos. I found Dr Berry and his Keto videos 10 mos ago when I was 295 lbs and newly diagnosed T2 diabetes and a host of other health issues. I have now lost 65 lbs (230 lbs), I have reversed my T2 diabetes, fatty liver, high blood pressure, IBS, arthritis, acid reflux, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, depression and anxiety… all normal or completely gone!! I’m off all meds and just supplement vitamin D3/K2, take Lugols Iodine and Berberine. It’s like some kind of hocus pocus magic it seems… BUT IT WORKS!!!!!!! I have looked into carnivore and have tried it, but I just need more variety in my diet so now I am somewhere between Keto and ketovore… but def meat heavy. Keep up your great work Kelly. You are helping SO many people to reach their best physical AND mental health and God Bless. 😊
Love the Big Daddy Roth image for the craving monster!😂This video came at a good time for me. I have been doing great on carnivore for about 2 weeks at a time and then things happen (in September it was my roommate falling asleep at the wheel and totaling our vehicle and then my electric went up 100$ a month) and I made a conscious decision to get Chinese food. Well again I’m off the rails. I have cancer so it’s imperative I do this to keep myself as healthy as possible. Ugh. I know cancer feeds sugar. It’s so stupid and I know that. I’ve always used food to treat stress. I love turkey so tomorrow I’m going to make a big pot of home made turkey soup with no noodles, just turkey, salt & pepper and sip on that for the first few days to get back on track.
Addiction is no joke. With physical issues have to outweigh the cravings. Getting better has to be better than the taste of carbs. That’s kind of where I was last year. Our body at times want carbs. Push through. Hang on yes!
I started Carnivore February of this year. I lost 73 lbs. I no longer craved sugar and was able to go to OMAD because I was no longer hungry. 6 weeks ago, I lost my husband. All of a sudden, I have a nonstop cravings for sugar. I can’t seem to get back on track.
IAM an old grandpa and I can’t get through to son and daughter inlaw about what they are feeding their babies 👶. The daughter in law and son think it’s fine to have all the Kellogg’s fixes and bitch about not having time. I feed them meat 🥩 fatty style when I am over and them babies are very young and are visibly getting by okay but I can not see inside their little bodies and so I do worry. I have gone from 135kgs and now at 92 kg’s and rarely feel hunger. Carnivore eating and OMAD and longer than 24 hr fasting have done me great service. All the Doctors on the carnivore path have been great mentors in the last 4 years. Thanks guys😊😊😊
I have a friend who is obese and has many autoimmune issues but just says I can’t eat only meat. I wish I could convince her but can’t. I won’t even try any longer. Congrats to those who have done it. So happy for you. Keep going. All I can do for my friend is pray.
This is absolutely epic!! The “scene” in my life is get togethers with my sister in law. They don’t care to understand at all and I always feel defensive. I’m worried about the holidays at their house.
I needed to hear your inspirational words. Fell off carnivore after Thanksgiving. I so needed to hear all of those thoughts. Thanks Kelly! You have saved so many of us.
I needed to watch this sooo much! After a year and 1/2. I let a very stressful situation completely destroy my carnivore journey and everyday I keep eating worse instead of better. Oh how I need to get back on track.
@miketaylor7305 thank you! I took three ribeyes out of the freezer this morning. Going to give it my all today. My daughter's family is moving back to Washington and are staying with me until their new house is ready. Of course they came lock stock and barrel with every snack known to man, so my house and fridge are full of all the things I had given up. It will take all the strength I can muster to stay out of it.
Yesterday was a restart for me. Day 2. My husband made iced brownies. I had to smell them all day. And look at them on counter. I did not even have a tiny taste. I feel so much better today, Day 3. I have to stay on meat. Makes all the difference. For me I know eggs cook up fast. I have quit going through fast food lines. Good luck everyone.
63 almost to 300 lbs. I have been WFPB for a few years, before that I was vegan for about 5 yrs. I have been eating high carbs and doing nothing but gaining weight it really hasn't been the answer for me. I haven't been eating tons of sugar or fried foods. I am now trying keto a bit hard to change the mindset but I need to do something to lose weight and feel better so here I go.
Great video, Kelly❤.Identifying foundations and sitting with emotions have been an important part of my journey and I appreciate that you address that. So proud to be TeamMeat!!🥩
You are 100% on target. I was keto 5yrs and changed to carnivore/ ketovore 1 yr and did a 30 day Lion .I found I feel the best on all beef and will stay like this for a while. I'll latter add in different meat's and see what my body says. Thank you Kelly 🌹
Oh Kelley, I’m in your Wednesday evening meeting. I use an iPad. I don’t know how to manage making comments. I haven’t even figured out how to get my picture up from one time to the next. I love your sessions. Even though I can’t interact I enjoy everything that said with everyone. I have hope. I have 10 pounds to lose. I once weighed 260# Keto has helped me greatly. Gradually into relaxed carnivore. And now doing carnivore for 30 days. I’m stuck right now. And hope to gain a lot of information from this month’s group. Currently weigh 150 #
This made me tear up because it is SPOT ON what I needed to hear. I did carnivore last year for 4 months and felt my best in years. I put myself back into carbs, sodas and the wrong foods. My struggles are multiplied because of Gastroparesis, IBS, Lipedema and Lymphedema for starters. I completely gave up. Thank you for this practical yet genius video. Love you sis. ❤
I am on day 7. I cannot believe the energy I have. My head feels less foggy. I don’t feel angry or like my emotions are all over the place. ON DAY 7! I have an autoimmune thyroid disease and all foods cause severe gut and hormone issues. I can only imagine what 3 months will look like! If you’re just starting…have hope!
Carnivore for 6 months after being plant based since childhood. This is the only way for me, and I’m never going back! Being and looking healthy is the best feeling ever. If you’re on the fence just do it! It was a little difficult to get fat adapted, not going to lie, but it’s 100% worth it. In less than a years time you will feel and look like a much healthier version of yourself GUARANTEED. This works. It’s LIFE CHANGING!
Your Right; I did a video on the Carnivore Mindset...I talk to people all the time and I am surprised at how many people I run into at the bike/walk trails, that are on the Carnivore Diet. Just the other day I was talking to a couple and the guy was like me and went on the carnivore lifestyle and his wife was not. She was like you before, short and chubby. She just can not give up carbs. My Wife is the same, but she has made strides of cutting out toxic sugar and most carbs. I'm 63 and I have a story to tell on my channel. I would love to do a talk sometime...
I'm hoping it helps my bad breath, oh and my type 1 diabetes, thyroid issues and depression. I think it comes from my gut because I have tried everything. I'm taking caffeine pills instead of coffee with dairy and stevia.
Excellent!!! So excited to share this with my friends! I have an addictive component for sure. I remember reading somewhere that the carnivore diet helps people overcome drug addiction, and it makes sense to me! Because we are starving ourselves when we eat what isn't going to actually feed us. Everything you said here, so good! Everyone should watch!!
It heals many mental health diagnosis. Dr Chris Palmer wrote a book I believe called Brain Energy showing how he heals his patients through eating meat.
You NAILED IT, KELLY!!!!! The part when you said, that the lizard brain tells us, that just one bite, just one bite (btw. reminds me the serpent in the garden of Eden), but actually, after that one bite, you cant think straight!!!! THat sooo true, wow. GOd bless you Kelly.
Just saw an article on Newsweek about someone who is doing carnivore and all the benefits! He is on RU-vid (Wick Goes Carnivore) 😊 first mainstream publication I’ve seen cover it.
Kelly Hogan- I like, enjoy and value you so much! Thank you for teaching us and also for just being kind- nice- and wisely fun. With real appreciation, Sheila Moser
Thanks to Kelly Hogan (Both in small part and large part), I am on the other side of my carbohydrate/sugar addiction 100% for almost three years! I’ve been taking coaching from Kelly Hogan for the last two of those years, because it works! When it comes to addiction, I identify with her thinking 100% because I have been where she has been and her words resonate with me. Do they resonate with you? When dealing with addiction, people often walk in circles looking for a direction to go in, looking for help & answers. This video IS that important first step for you in a positive direction. Now reinforce it by watching it more than once… Continue to move in that direction.
You're amazing and you are always on point to all levels of Carnivore, new, two years and like me almost four years in. Keep up the great videos and inspiration!
I fell of the wagon myself, for the past two months binging on carbs, regaining weight fast. The worst part is the returning insomnia, joint pain, headaches, snoring and worst of all the Hidradenitis Suppurativa or HS which is worst than its ever been. Kelly please I need you to give me a word of encouragement. I know you know how debilitating and demoralizing HS is. Please I need a word of encouragement to get back in carnivore and save myself. Thank you for all your videos.
Thank you for sharing so openly about your own relatable experiences. I so appreciate you. I am doing well 30+ days now and down 13 pounds. I am committed to a lifetime of carnivore. I am 70 years old. I have tried many diets over the last thirty years only to gain the weight back. I have Hashimoto's and other health issues. I am feeling confident that some of my health issues will be resolved and already I am feeling better. You keep me inspired and beyond hope to a confidence that I am healing my body.
