One major idea I had is that the sun is humanity's first representation of time, with it being the clock we woke and went to sleep by, and humanity was mad at time so it shot at it's first clock.
I never realised what the "pretend to recrown the creation" line meant in Spring and a Storm but now that i know it's so cool to see that almost all of my favourite tally hall songs talk about the sun, amazing video and analysis!
Fun fact + Theory: The Ruler of everything videoclip was originally have a human as the "antagonist" and not the cosmic thing, at the end the small humaniod things (who ressemble microorganisms) kill the guy, and by the look of it we can say the videoclip talks about humanity trying to gain power but, nature will always claim what is from it, also because in "&" there is the line: "When the golden rule (death) and the jungle (nature) meet, there'll be nothing to love and there'll be no one to beat/be". Tally hall is telling us that humans are powerless against time, god & nature after all, there are somethings we are never meant to know.
This is the reason why tally hall is the greatest band ever. They can make songs like ruler of everything and songs like “MUCK BLUCK BLAH BLUH BLUH BLAH BLUH BLUH BLAHBLAH”
And banana man. They have other songs like "wow time is crazy and we have no ability to change it at all" and "man, nobody will date me. I mean, I'm homeless and an alcoholic, but ill never leave you." And then there's just "HAHA BANANA"
I really like these analysis videos because sometimes they really open up my view to parts of a song i might have misinterpreted. I mean ummmm.... This guy must be a licensed doctor because he never fails to deliver!

okay I haven't really watched the video yet but I think the sun is still just fitting the whole time metaphor since time is just a measure we created based on our planets' movement around the sun, being a perfect representation of Juno getting mad at the very thing that originated the concept we have of time, thus starting the existencial argument between our boy Juno and big ol Time metaphor sun bring or smth
I personally think that Juno was mad, he knew he'd been had by Time. and even though he hadn't been had by that time in the song, he had actually. I think that the music is meant to loop, because time never ends. also, the music video is a perfect loop, which I think is a hint left behind by tally hall. i'm happy to see a new perspective on it though, where other songs are threaded into it. I love your vids, they're great, and I watch them on 90% speed so you get extra watch time.
the sun gives us day and night, it is, from some perspective, what gives us time. all calenders and time systems are based around how the sun interacts with the earth. so, by that logic, juno's shooting at the sun in order to kill time.
Reminds me how once in Greek myth Heracles complained how it was too hot on one of his journeys and tried to fire one of his arrows at the sun, Helios found that amusing and took him for a ride helping him reach his labor.
i recently played tally hall music in front of my parents and my dad described his liking for their music as, i like how they tell a story in their songs and have the melody change to match that
Unrelated kinda, but in Be Born, the son/sun thing comes up again in the lyric “so get out here and see the sun, you’re only six inches away from becoming one.” Conclusion, all songs are related to Fate Of The Stars. (This is definitely a reach, but hey, lemme have this)
I don’t remember which mythology it is but I think it’s Greek but Juno (Who was Jupiter’s wife) did not really like Helios (The sun) so yeah Juno now got rid of the prick that was on her side for who knows how long
