i think the ablaze after dark might mean something different they got robbed in the day so their rage and emotions hate the day there, thus opting for the night but then they realize Its the location, not the time
3:19 Ok I’m not sure anyone has pointed this out yet, but my friend told me this after she listened to the song The verse after the gibberish is actually a haiku “There thats sufficient” 5 syllables “I wrote a haiku for you” 7 syllables “Well I tried at least” 5 syllables So yeah I just thought that was cool and I wanted to share it :)
2 weeks ago I made the comment of "I think pearl harbour being mentioned is a very elaborate joke to a sex bomb." which i still feel if true but i just feel like i could totally add onto that. Tho I should add if your a minor, probably dont read this im pretty blunt. "Velveteen", undeniably the MOST controversial part of the song. If it didn't mean the obvious, I think it could also be about Joe when he was a younger man and they (singer & the ladder) were both virgins (being blunt) though i think it's weird for joe to write something like this -- especially in regards to himself, and not bring up he also was "velveteen" or something. Another idea, simply put, maybe the "singer" is not meant to be joe. whether they represent him i cant be sure, but a lot of joe's songs take of another perspective. Banana man is of either a druggie, or banana man himself. The entirety of Hawaii pt2 is in three respectives - most notable of which, simon. Ruler is time and juno, so on so fourth. Im surprised this idea wasn't brought up before especially since even in non-tally contect just Joe Hawley Attacks perspective changes. (ex: Go To Bed, Hoodz 'n the Woodz) I wanna throw ideas for 'quoth Tsunami Tah' at the end. Taken from genius -- (Quoth: to say either by first person or third person. Tsunami: A large wave of water. Tah: has multiple meanings. To be under the control of, a fold, deepness, earnestly.) With these definitions, this is also probably a metaphor for sex. likely - bear with me - climaxing. If you don't know, im not explaining it. Or maybe "waves of pleasure" or "fondess" he feels for the other person in the song. very rambly, but i had more to say then my first comment which i've now deleted.
This might be a stretch but in Turn The Lights Off (which Joe wrote) there’s a line that says “And everybody wants to get evil tonight But all good devils masquerade under the light” He & Zubin were robbed and mugged, which was done by an “evil” person. Idk if someone else has said this
