Why Digimon is Better Than Pokemon! 

The story of Digimon and the emotions and the psychological aspects of Digimon just made Digimon way better Edit : that’s my opinion and I totally understand that you might think the opposite and that’s ok … one thing we can all agree on is that both shows are legendary in their own way

Digimon is a multimedia franchise while pokemon is primarily a gaming franchise.

So I am a huge Pokémon fan as far as the games go…I breed competition Pokémon….but recently I decided I wonder what I missed out on in Digimon as a kid. I think the biggest thing Digimon had working against it is it was on FoxKids and not Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon. However I bought cybersleuth complete edition and Digimon World Next order and they are fantastic games with much more adult themes. I love all the different evolutionary lines. Like I said huge Pokémon fan but it shakes me to admit the Digimon evolutions look way cooler in my opinion haha.

There's something you should've mentioned that Digimon does better than Pokemon: it matured with its audience. Even back in the day when Digimon was "kid-friendly" it still tackled some pretty mature themes like death, survival, and even sex appeal. Pokemon remains a kid-friendly franchise (which is a mixed bag at best) while Digimon shifted tracks and decided to evolve along with their audience starting with Cyber Sleuth. And if you asked me, that was a very smart decision. This is one of Digimon's greatest strengths: to address and tackle mature themes and show the consequences, both the good and bad, of your actions. Look at Impmon from Tamers, for example. He went from a wannabe to making a deal with a devil for power to an atoner when he realized he had gone too far. He had an amazing redemption arc but it never hesitated to remind him of his mistakes and the consequences of his actions. That's not something Pokemon tackles, and if they do it's done haphazardly or it's rather shallow. The characters (well, most of them, as you do get an occasional dud) also showed more layers to them compared to how most Pokemon characters are. Yes, we do get some outstanding ones like N, Lillie, and Arven, but most of the time Pokemon characters are nowhere near as complex as characters like Tai, Takato, Marcus, and many of the game characters like Nokia, Kota, and so on. And a lot of Digimon characters tend to go through various levels of character development that deepens their characters compared to characters like Ash. Now, just to clarify, I am a Pokemon fan, as I've been with the franchise since the beginning, but I also got into Digimon shortly afterward. I noticed the numerous comparisons between them but I still enjoyed both of them for countless years. Nowadays, with the quality of the Pokemon games largely tanking, and that GameFreak isn't putting enough money into the games despite being an AAA game company has made me reassess my status as a Pokemon fan. Scarlet could very well be my last hurrah with Pokemon because GF refuses to innovate and take risks, leaving the games' quality pretty low. It's only when GF does innovate or take risks that the games tend to be good (like Gen 5 and Legends Arceus), but otherwise they prefer to stay stagnant with their formula. Digimon, on the other hand, has become far more appealing not just because of it's tendency to tackle mature themes and maturing with its audience, but they're willing to take risks or innovate to try new things. I respect that in a company. And that's another strength of Digimon: they're willing to take risks and/or try something different and see what it gives them. As a result, Digimon is becoming more and more appealing while Pokemon is losing a lot of its luster. That's my 2 cents. Spend it however you'd like.

Digimon is better. The characters actually grow up. And the Digimon actually speak. Pokemon never speak apart from saying there names over and over again.

I was actually an avid Digimon fan growing up. I didn't get into Pokemon. Interesting to say the least.

Pokemon is a tournament fighter. Digimon is a save the world adventure. Mon is often used in the names of Japanese Gods, Hachimon the god of war. Digimon also has heavy tokusatsu influence

I love the concept of an parallel universe with a soul bonded monster just for me. I also like how the anime tackles real life issues and Beezlemon’s redemption arc is ❤️. I also like how they offer something for everyone. Like isekai, try Adventure or Frontier. More into sci fi or technology based, then look no further then Tamers or appmon. Like shonens where the main character hits things, Savers have you covered. Enjoy episodic monster of the week, there is Fusion and Ghost Game for you. I just wish Pokémon fans would just try Digimon out, who knows, maybe you will become a fan.😉

Digimon survive, I think, is an example of what digimon does better than Pokémon which is: mature with their audience. I will admit survive was not marketed correctly. It was marketed as a strategy rpg. But it’s more of a virtual novel. But I really like the story and thought it did good job.

The Anime Cold War between the Pokémon Horizons: The Series (2023) and the Digimon Adventure: (2020) have all been given credit for their risky deed that developed after Angry German Kid vs Jovi Part 2.

To be fair, Digimon Data Squad had digivices that could "store" the partner Digimon, but there was at least a reason for that; since the characters belonged to a secret "Men In Black" style government organization, and the Digimon were supposed to be kept secret. The shows themselves just strike me as being more mature, even the immaturity of the English dub, the story is the same. Heck, during the dark master's arc (in the sub), Puppetmon has a _.44 magnum_ that he uses to kill Digimon with, and he casually hands T.K. a loaded submachine gun. You never saw that in the dub, because of course it wouldn't be allowed, but that's _wild_ nonetheless for a kid's show about fantastical monsters and saving the world lol. We also saw Digimon who helped the kids at some point literally die in front of them, multiple times, without knowing if they would ever come back (since digimon couldn't be reborn while the dark master's were ruling the world.) This contributed to the team breaking up again, for a short period, and ofc every character is also rather complex. Pokemon isn't _bad_ per-se, but it doesn't really try to innovate, especially now. All Digimon has ever done is innovate and try new things, whether they worked or not, the varied experiences are what make it special to me.

Nah, Digimon Survive was better than anything Pokémon put out around that time. Story is good, gameplay is grindy and nice just like any other JRPGs that usually don't hold your hand and people probably hated it because tactical RPGs aren't exactly popular in the west but game reminded me Anode/Cathode Tamer a lot, so it feels good to play.

I agreed that Digimon destroy Pokemon and that Digimon is more better than Pokemon when we see those last years with the Pokemon serie. I'm not sure how people react about it in others country but, in my own country, I never see so much Pokemon fanboys be so much upset about those last Pokemon games that it even have create 2 clans inside the Pokemon community: From one of them there is the clan of "The graphics are ugly, there are somes lags and glitch issue, the story is too short and the difficult is too easy, we need to spend money into DLC for get others missing Pokemon unlike the past when we get all the Pokemon creature already in the game without need DLC" and in the other side we have the clan of "The game is perfect, the graphics are so good and it deserve a good review of 20/20 without have any kind of issue and it must be the GOTY in the Game Awards for each years at coast" so, of course, when those 2 clans meet each others and not agreed each others, it end up with a lot of rage with a lot of insult more and less vulgar like someone who ask to check an eye again on the grass texture due to be ugly and ask that the guy who think it's perfect must get somes eyes for his face while others think the water texture are beautifull and that, those who think it's ugly, they need to buy somes glasses for their eyes. Also sometimes I meet up somes people who roasts the Pokemon new game by troll and say it's a good to see a GCN/PS2 reissue on the Switch because the graphics itself. However, when there was Scarlet released the last years, I see more people than before throw so much hate and that I even see somes of them who swear with anger that between Pokemon and them it's over for good and tey think that the Pokemon serie is dead for them. I even have a friend in USA who like so much the Pokemon serie since a long time ago and Scarlet didn't really interest it due to a lot of issue that he hear about it. However when I advice him to buy Digimon Cyber Sleuth on the Switch, he give a try and he wasn't disappoint and even told me he admit that it's a bit more better than Pokemon so I feel like he stab back the Pokemon serie by say that but I admit he doesn't have wrong since the story, graphics and gameplay seem more better while I see so much people be upset about story, gameplay and graphics in those last Pokemon game. Also, to be honnest, I don't care about the Pokemon serie but, since the Pokemon community in my own country enjoy act like a clown in public, I always click on the new Pokemon video released by Nintendo on RU-vid but I pause the video just for be focus and enjoy the wars in the comment section of Pokemon who is more fun than the Pokemon trailer video itself and I'm never disapoint about how they are so upset between each others about who gonna have the best argue and who gonna have the best roasts. So I guess it's a sort of consolation prize due to Nintendo who don't care by still don't do anything for a new Star Fox and Kid Icarus game on the Switch since 6 years just like Metroid Prime 4 who have been announced there was 6 years ago and no more official news about it like the content inside the game if a side online mode is planned or no or about a short gameplay teaser trailer since it feel like, in a jokes way without be serious, that Nintendo is about to be bankrupt due to mainly care about the same grab money game very popular in Japan with more than 10 Pokemon games, 6 Kirby games and 5 Fire Emblem games and a lot of old Mario game port from previous console who get a lot of success like Paper Mario TTYD from GCN, Luigi's Mansion 2 from 3DS and somes Wii U games port to the Switch and be sold to a expensive price like of those games never exist before despite we know the story like Peach is possessed at the end of TTYD and Mario is captured in a paint by the King Boo that the Mario paint is fully reveal in the final mansion (yeah free spoiler for somes old game who gonna be release next years on the Switch so no need to thank me😁) on the Switch than take care about their other serie who don't have much or nothing on the Switch like no new Star Fox and Kid Icarus games and just 2 Metroid games since 6 years on the Switch. However the Pokemon community always made me laught so much when they complaint about the new Pokemon game that they just got by not be happy about it and want asap a new Pokemon game for forget the one they just have and when they get a new Pokemon game, they complaint about the same things again and want again asap a new game. Like say Shockwave it's illogical.

Here is why pokemon is better than digimon: No body f***king cares there are those who like complex thing but there those who simple things this debate has been going on for years now and I am tired of it.
