This is exactly what my mom does. She mistakes the clutter (pillows, blankets, a guitar, anything) in our house for people or animals.

It’s Fourth of July and little flags are on the lawn outside of 94 year old Mom’s window. She thinks it is the cemetery with grave sites.

My dad with dementia told me he couldn’t sleep in his bed one night because another man came into his room, got into his bed and went to sleep. So my dad sat in his chair. After a few hours, he said the man got up, walked in front of him, and left the room. He thought maybe the man went to the bathroom, but then he never came back. (Creepy)

Bless him. Hallucinations can feel so real. I had one after my open heart surgery as a reaction to some pain medication. It was so real. I am glad it happened to me so I can say I know how real they feel.

Albert Einstein said that there were different dimensions, right? Could hallucinations be the dimensions crossing?

Vicky, my sil has delusions. Maybe some of it is hallucinations? She has told us that her dad (he died in 2014) ‘walks the earth sometimes’ and says he has been in her room. She thinks people that live and work at the home are actually family members and old friends. One is her cousin, Julie. One is my daughter Wendy. One is a lady she used to go to church with. Another is a friend of her daughter. She’s seeing these people but the actual person she is looking at doesn’t even resemble who she thinks she sees.💔 It’s so strange how the brain signals get so scrambled. She told us today that a little boy slept in her bed last night. She said she slept in her recliner and her was about 2y/o with black hair. (I have no idea what to think about that?) Can you do a video explaining the difference between hallucinations and delusions? Sometimes I get confused! I mean, she sees and talks to her dad. She has also told us she went to heaven and saw Jesus but he told her she couldn’t stay because it wasn’t time yet.💔

Dovie Tomplait delusions are a fixed false belief, like “I think you are having an affair”...a hallucination is “I saw a woman leave your room this morning”. That’s an easy way to understand the difference. But, yes, I can. I have a video about it generally!

I am taking care of my Mom, and she has started seeing people. Little children, a cousin, my grandmother who died 16 years ago and just recently my Dad, he died 15 years ago. I don't even know how deal with it. Mom is getting frustrated with me because I don't see these people. I don't know what to do.

I understand what you saying, that they can mistake a coat rack for a person. But my husband see's things that are moving. Like an elderly woman making a quilt in a rocker, rocking, in the middle of the living room. Also an older man and woman walking holding hands walking in the living room. Bears, dogs. They are all moving. That cant be a coat rack. We dont even have a coffee table in our living rm. No rugs. I'm not sure I get it. I've even watched videos that say they're not even having hallucinations. He walks in to talk to a patients saying hes seeing bug. And he says show me, and there really is a bug. Come on now.

Lorna Woessner that IS a true hallucination. And that requires medicine. Have you spoken to his doctor about it?

Do you just say whatever is on your mind to strangers in real life? It’s just rude.
