Crying after a stroke is uncontrolled, spontaneous and uncomfortable. Here is how I dealt with it. The medical profession has given it a name, PBA or pseudo bulbar affect. No, you are not neurotic and the condition lessens with time.
How I recovered from a debilitating stroke. An inspirational, personal journey with the methods and attitudes than allowed me to recover. I follow my personal progress through several episodes. My message is "Don't Give in to Stroke!"

Strongs to you in your recovery, keep working hard @ what you doing, I have a brother who had a stroke, he is lame in the right side wheelchair bound also cries a lot, my heart bleeds for him everytime I visit that journey to recovery is so hard😥easy for us to say keep trying, keep pushing but for the stroke survivor it's not so easy, all the best for you🙏🙏

A wonderful video that I could relate to quite a bit. I had my stroke in 2019 at the age of 57 - an embolism in the right caroid artery so the left side of my body was impacted. I noticed the propensity to get very emotional soon after, which definitely is very embarrassing. As you mentioned I find I can now control it better by using mental diversions.

I hope you're alright now. 🤗❤️ There's no shame in crying though, mate. It's nature's anti depressant.

For the first couple of years I got angry, and cried at lot, more than the situations deserved. Anger was not fun for anybody, but the crying was kinda funny. The Rush song Subdivisions would make me cry also people being kind to me would choke me. For me crying does not track with depression which I take much more seriously. Luckily for me that is also lifting. I eventually realized my brain was overreacting all sort of stimuli. Heat, cold, spicy food and itching the sensation irritated eyes, nose and mouth. Guitar strings still feel like barbed wire. Also noticed all would often get worse in the late afternoon. You gotta be tough and patient if you going to survive a stoke.

It surprises me how mention we got from the medical profession about all these symptoms. I hope you are feeling a lot better. Hang in there!

How long is your post stroke? How long it took before you walk again? Do you get spasticity and does it go away? What exercise you do if you have had spasticity?

Excellent, it all depends on which parts of the brain were affected.

Yes but any brand should do and definitely speak with a doctor before using, it might interact with blood thinners if you are on them etc Any supplements you should get clearance on from your doctor if you had a stroke. Super Smart tocotrienols 100mg.

Interesting that you cry so much. I had a stroke in April of 2012 and one in January of 2013 and one in March of 2013. I haven't been able to cry since the first one. Have you ever heard of that?
