When it comes to Men finally deciding to get married, the question I see the most from Women is, “Does he truly loves me or is it just the right time for him?” Well, you’re about to find out in this episode with my special guests Duke, Omar and Jalon from the Nice & Neat Podcast. We also go over other topics such as: Is the cliche saying, “Right Girl-Wrong Time” a real thing? How we as Men have had to unlearn some things when it comes to relationships. The Male ego and how it doesn’t fit in a relationship. Finances in relationships aka Financial Intimacy and so much more! This weeks episode is LOADED and I can’t wait for you to unpack it all!
Also, don't forget to like, subscribe & turn on your notifications so you don't miss out on an episode! Thank you to everyone who has already!

My mom told me during Christmas break to try and start dating men that were raised with their fathers and the difference truly is night and day. After that conversation, those men started gravitating towards me and my dating experience has been so much more pleasant. Also, those men are interested in getting married and starting a family. I’m currently with an amazing guy and I’ve never felt so safe, happy, and respected. Everything they said was true.

I swear one of the criteria to be on this show is to be fine. 😅 LOL But it is refreshing to be stimulated mentally by a group of strong men. Love this conversation! Going to double back and watch again.

I feel like glorifying an ex is very unrealistic and starts to become a fantasy of the mind after a while. I couldn't imagine clinging to who that person was when we dated. People change rather quickly and life moves fast. None of my exes are even the shadow of who they were when we dated and neither am I. I find that holding on to that idea such a waste of time. It didn't work at that time and now that it might, you're two different people. It's possible but I feel it does more harm than good to cling onto that idea. I like to think of that love, cherish it, apply whatever it taught me and move on. Then, go find that feeling again with someone who matches your needs for where you are in life NOW.

I think the biggest factor truely is emotional maturity.. yes, career is important but i think the mindset is most important.. cuz it affects all aspects..

I think once we recognize that there may not be just 1 person for you and instead there are multiple the "settling debate" (in this context) will disappear.

This was a dope convo! The mind is a wild place and we often remember the best things of a bad relationship. I think it’s natural to go the rout of thinking “man I’m ready to

I’m so glad you had this convo, I even though I’m a woman myself..I have ALWAYS thought that women who make that statement say that to make themselves feel better. Women settle way more than men due to societal pressure (kids etc)

Had an ex tell me he's never loved a girl as much as he loved me (he had many girlfriends after he dumped me). Maybe he was gaslighting me, who knows if he was being honest. But that's why I feel like men don't always marry the one they love the most

My husband has been reflecting on his family dynamic and how it has affected him more as we are creating our own family, baby boy is due next week ✨ and it makes me wanna cry listening to other black/african american men talking about a 2 parent household... Cause my husband has so much pain from his family and I cant wait for his dream to come true of being a great father in a 2 parent household 🙏🏼✨

Needed to hear this conversation. In the back of my mind I find myself still holding hope for my ex of 6 years ago to one day feel like he’s ready and come back. But I have to face that that wouldn’t work- I am romanticizing what our relationship was and ignoring the problems that led to us breaking up. Plus we’ve changed durastically. He just wasn’t the right one for me and I have to accept that. Thanks for the illuminating discussion!

The only way you can dictate whether a woman was better for you is if you are the same person in all relationships, but people grow and things change. You evolve and you become more emotionally secure and financially secure so I think her statement reigns supreme. Often times, if we were everything that we are today back then we could of probably made those relationships work. We didn’t have the tools. Even on the flip side as a woman, when I was 20 I dated a guy way more emotionally mature than I was and we ended up not making it, but now I’m grown, I’ve been to therapy, I’m out of college making more money and I can actually have a conversation. He’s dead (rip) now but I would def spin the block on him if I could. Your spouse isn’t a settle bc they work for you in the time like JD explained, but that also points to marrying the person who was around when you were ready. All things aligned.

I was raised my by mother (God rest her soul). As a woman, I got a lot of great qualities from her. But because my father wasn't around, I went thru a lot with men - bad men because there was no man in my life to teach me how men should treat women even though, my mum showed me how I should be loved. It was later having worked thru (& continue to work thru) my daddy issues that I became to strengthen my boundaries to detract men who would seek to just use me. Great show guys! Glad to see healthy black men discuss such issues.

I am really feeling this. There are people I know that have married their spouse because they was always around them and it was convenient to them. Great job Justin 👍

As a fan of Enjoy and The Nice and Neat Podcast I was secretly hoping you guys would collaborate!! 🎉 These men are such outstanding gentlemen! The way they stand on their morals and principles but are still so open and willing to grow is what I love about these guys! I haven't watched yet but I'm excited. 🤗

As a woman, I adore hearing men having these type of conversations. Mad respect for Nice and Neat!
