Why do wisdom teeth grow in odd directions? 

There's a connection between increasing brain size and our diet change from raw food to cooked food. Only we don't know when.

I got 5 wisdom teeth, didn't even feel them come through in my teens.

My wisdom teeth came in just fine. However, that is likely because, as a kid, I had four bicuspids REMOVED to make room for orthodontia correction. Likely, without those other four teeth removed, I would NOT have had room for my wisdom teeth to come in.
