Generally, when we see suffering in the world, our mind cannot understand that God can have a purpose and use that suffering for a greater good. But God who has the knowledge of everything has certain reasons to allow it.

The devil has sent so many people to destroy me but my struggles have brought me closer to our Lord. Even though I have fallen on hard times I will still praise JESUS. I will only pursue the wisdom of GOD instead of the wisdom of this world. Please pray for me. I’m a single mother. I lost my job as a social worker at Forsyth hospital over declining the vaccine, I declined due to my pre existing health conditions lupus and heart disease. I wish I could go back to the hospital but the mandate is still in place for hospitals that participate in Medicare and Medicaid all workers have to be vaccinated against COVID-19. I’ve been struggling to provide for my children ever since. I can’t seem to get back on my feet. I’m struggling financially, desperately trying to support my two autistic children and myself. I’m now waitressing, and I’m so thankful but I’m not making nearly enough to get by. Every month is a struggle not to end up on the streets with my two boys. But I keep faith in God, no MATTER WHAT. I know he will provide. He has this far. He is the God of Possible. Please keep me and my children in your prayers.

@@HarryNicNicholas A couple of follow-up questions: If you have the “luxury” of “making up” your own morals, how does a society establish moral norms? Does a society ever have authority to impose a given moral standard on those who don’t share them? Does the individual ever have the right or duty to oppose societal standards and practices he personally deems immoral? You “usually judge” by what you would or would not like done to you. Why not “always” rather than “usually?” What would be the parameters for deviating from what you’d usually do?

The prodigal son suffered but he blamed no one, including God. He took responsibility for his errors and the Father took him back into his inheritance, into his kingdom. It took no sacrifice except the self-sacrifice he realized he was mistakenly making. Sacrifice doesn't end our guilt and blaming and feelings that we are separated from God. Forgiveness does, "For they know not what they do."

The question is why should there be suffering if a good God exists. If a good God doesn't exist, then suffering makes sense, in a natural world. So you can't just say that the theist has a better explanation for suffering because it's not a comparison. The question is trying to make sense of an apparent contradiction in your worldview.

I think it depends on the call of the Lord where He's leading you, sometimes you have to go through storms to do the work He's called you for. Sometimes its to bring us closer to Him through prayer. Other times it's because the demons have been destroying families for generations because of curses and stuff they have fed into. Witchcraft does this to families all the time. Sometimes "good people" are doing great things police officers or firemen but beating their wife and raping their children and things happen to them and people are devastated, not knowing that they are secretly slime.

My God, how could You drive away a poor beggar who seeks refuge in You from sins, fleeing? How could You disappoint one seeking guidance who repairs to Your threshold, running? How could You reject a thirsty man who comes to Your pools to drink? Never! For Your pools are full in the hardship of drought, Your door is open for seeking and penetration, and You are the goal of requests and the object of hopes. My God, these are the reins of my soul I have bounded with the ties of Your will. These are the burdens of my sins I have averted with Your pardon and mercy. These are my misleading caprices I have referred to the threshold of Your gentleness and kindliness. So, make this morning of mine, O Allah, descend upon me with the radiance of guidance and safety in religion and this world! And [make] my evening a shield against the deception of enemies and a protection against the destructive blows of caprice! Verily, You have power to do what You will! You give the kingdom to whom You will, seize the kingdom from whom You will, exalt whom You will, and abase whom You will. In Your hand is the good and You are powerful over all things.

The God you describe doesn't “allow” suffering; he causes suffering. Does not the Bible you refer to say that God cursed the world after the fall? All cancer, evil, war, etc., in your worldview, is God’s judgment. Curiously, Jesus is said to take the wrath of God at the cross for sin in your worldview. Had of Jesus come, then, right after the fall, could not the suffering be avoided? Could have the curse just fallen on Him then in love? But no, instead, the “plan” is untold amounts of suffering. And this you call love!? You refer to parents letting their children be disciplined for their good. Yet, you would obviously not place your child in a concentration camp with gas chambers for their good. Yet, the God you speak of does just that?

Frank Turek: If you Lie, you are a LIAR. Just like Jesus. LOL. John 7:8-10 "You go to the festival. I am not going up to this festival, because my time has not yet fully come." So Turek thinks that a baby suffering and dying from a disease or disaster is a terrible thing. But he also thinks his "all powerful", "all knowing" and "all-loving" God can't figure out another way to get his future evangelist here to stop all the suffering and dying of innocents on the Earth He created. Hmmm. Maybe Turek needs to rethink his notion of "all powerful", "all knowing" and "all loving" . Or maybe he's just wrong about the whole thing

Jesus came to save the world and undo the works of the devil. His disciples healed people, cast out demons, raised the dead and Jesus said, greater things than this, you will do, even calm storms and move mountains. So, what happened? Did Jesus lie, did he fail? Of course not, many Christians have done miracles and continue to do miracles. My hypothesis for why the world isn't as perfect as Jesus said it could be is this, as Jesus warned, wolves have crept in, false teachers abound, lies replaced truth. So who is harmed, but those causing the problems. Sad indeed. Feed the sheep and let the little child lead you.

We live in a fallen world, he has a better place waiting for us, our death here is life eternal life with him, our choice, our free will, and God won’t interfere with our will, suffering is temporary here but that suffering is without God, and depending on our approach to him that suffering can either continue after our death here or not.

Was it wicked of God to allow the testing of Job? Was the collateral damage enough to say God is wicked ? I don’t like the ripple argument or the argument that we just can’t understand. So, what is on the scales? Here is my list, you judge. o Job loses his children which cannot be replaced. o Job suffers emotional and physical pain. o The materialist view is that Job’s children were robbed of their 15 to 20 years of life, assuming they were between 17 and 28. o From a materialist view point there is no meaning, not to Job’s suffering or his children’s. o Job gains back the same number of children. Not really a leveling out of the loss, but arguably he would never have had twenty kids otherwise. Presumably his first ten children we taken to heaven, which cannot be compared to their remaining years on earth, perhaps even saving them from evil choices they would have made. o Job becomes a greater man spiritually and socially, and I don’t mean in terms of material wealth. o Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar (Wife? Elihu?) all become better people. o Job’s extended family, clan, tribe, and those who directly know of the tale were made more aware of God, and thus given a better opportunity to be closer to God. o The Accuser and night spirits are convicted in front of the Divine Counsel. o Christ is foreshadowed in the scriptures, supporting later that Jesus the Son of Man, and thus facilitating the conversion of Jews and gentiles to Christianity. o The BoJ is written to provide wisdom to mankind and to give hope to those who suffer.
