People rank Enkidu in Under Night In-Birth sometimes at the VERY bottom of their tier lists, yet not only does his theme slap, but some of his combos are pretty crazy and challenging??? Maybe after these trials people may see the light with him...

Enkidu does have bad match ups some worst then others but if you play for grid and win vorpal it should open up your options

Seeing Kizzie so hyped to the point that he legit pulled the best POG face doing Enkidu trials makes me a happy man. The character may be easy to play, but god is getting in a daunting task. But he has so much cool shit in his toolkit. But that's all we have Kizzie... We Enkidu mains were born with the sauce, but at what cost...?

4:06 Enk has a unique trait called Havoc where he actually gets a "mini counter hit" off hitting the opponent in recovery. It's pretty nice to counter an opponent's whiffed buttons but Enk's reach doesn't help him super much with it. It's still pretty cool though.

Enkidu has good pressure & strings with free plus frames from conditioning, but getting in on characters in this game is rough when you're Enkidu. We honest hard-working men out here.

I absolutley love everything about Enkidu its just a bit sad to play such a cool character and get outanged by everyone in the cast... so to compensate i main Gordeau and if i feel like i wanna be especially annoying I play Byakuya. For those asking, yes i drink tears and take sweet twisted pleasure into torturing people with oki web set-ups.

I think combo trials are useful in a sense that they show you a lot of things your character can do. For example whenever I pick up a new character in BBCF, I do the combo trials first to get decent understanding on some of the moves that what they do. And after that go to practice mode to lab more useful and optimal combos

If there were a word I'd use to describe Under Night's combo challenges, I'd call them "Fundamental". There are more optimal ways you can play these characters, but the combo challenges are a good launching point. The thing they do well is give you combos that are reasonably doable on-average and lay the ground-work for what kind of game you wanna be playing with certain characters. I do agree though that the tactical trials are by far some of the best fighting game tutorial content out there. It is incredibly well laid out and most importantly very quick to skim through, making the learning feel like less of a hassle.

Enkidu is the character that honestly got me into fighting games. Playing a cracked copy of UNIST and playing against my friend’s Walstein before releasing it was a lore fight was just the best.

"especialy if there's no way to get a free counterhit state" enkidu's vorpal trait havoc means when he trades they're in hitstun for longer, so he gets to counterhit more easily provided he knows the MU and the best moves to trade with the cast. also rewards whiff punishes hella hard

In UNI, each character has their own rhythm for their combos. So literally playing another character has you learn new rhythms

Combo trials aren't for combos to use, they're for teaching you things the character can do and how their moves interact do you can make your own combos.

Yeah, except Unist/clr have been out long enough that optimal routes are easy to obtain. The flexibility is appreciated though, especially for more casual players.

I never heard of this game until like 3 years ago. I platninumed that shit and played for a long time. Man Getting in with Enkidu is probably one of the most pleasing things I have done in a fighting game. I have 100% almost every fighting game I have had played. Enkidu is by far the most fun and easiest combo character wise but the MOST hardest character to get into face to other opponents. I'm salty they never put him in BlazBlue Cross Tag Team.

Well, if Enkidu isn't the worst character in the game, I don't know who is. Important changes he got for UNI-Clr was 66C is now multiple hits and can't be shield blocked to punish anymore... before if you shielded this, similar to shielding jump in attacks, it would increase your landing recovery and prevent you from special move canceling. Now you can very easily cancel into divekick or wait until landing to go into rekkas or parry. Last hit of A rekkas has longer untech time, so you can finish combos with more damage and still get oki. The other important change was Increase 22B. 22[B] gives Enkidu a veil off setup midscreen to strip vorpal easier, and really opened much better/higher damage combo routes for him. Honestly though fighting Hilda, Vatista, Londrekia, Yuzuriha, Merkava, Chaos or Carmine is a nightmare in general, but fighting these matchups as Enkidu is hell itself. Every other matchup is pretty fun, I think the funnest matchup is Akatsuki... lots of interesting interactions here trying to outplay each other.
