What would make Eve sin? What would compel her to give up everything she had in the garden, go against God’s word, and do the one thing she was commanded not to do?
What if I suggested that Eve was actually trying to do something good?
Eve’s sin at the tree was not about eating fruit she wasn’t supposed to. Her sin was trying to earn something God was trying to freely give her. Her sin was self-salvation.
We do the same thing all time. We think we are doing something good and contributing something to our relationship with God. But really, we are committing the same sin as Eve.
This is based on my new book "Rewire Your Heart." To learn more about our fight with sin and how to replace your desire for sin with desire for God, I invite you to order this new book here: bit.ly/bookrewire
