This video game ,, Kenshi '' . One might wonder ,, What da hell does it has to do with this ? '' . That game was made purely within and idea of a single person, out of this creative energy and that's why it was so unique. Guy went from security guy, to someone who sold a million copies on steam worldwide. ~$20 per copy. That's some money. If he had to chase trends or things that sell, none of this would have happened. Instead, he grinned upon his unique idea for years while working full time as a security guard.

It’s hard to stand on our own and not follow the trends but when you do you can get some pretty awesome results. Love this example !

I feel you, man. I had to subscribe. You nailed it. The "gurus" will even shame you that "you're a hobbyist, not an entrepreneur". I just couldn't flow with that hussle and grind culture, no way. I'd rather do what fulfills me and makes me happy.

Beautifully said. The theory is is if you do what fills your cup the money will come.

In my opinion if you create for you eventually like minded people will follow you and dig you because they are on a similar wave length so I am with you brother keep doing what your doing!

because you are your audience… they are just two steps behind. And you need to do what you love because we can tell if we you hate it. And i have to admit one thing that always impressed me about you is the fact that you are always willing to experiment

Too many people are leaving RU-vid all at once for it to be simply a creative impasse. Someone will eventually say the truth. In my opinion, it's something RU-vid did at the 1st of the year. Maybe it's the new rules, the terms of service. But, I don't think it's just self reflection all at once.
@RaylenDavis

It’s probably a all of the above situation

I agree. There is a group syndrome thing that happens. Once someone does it suddenly everyone that was close to doing it goes ahead and does it too.@@RaylenDavis

Appreciate it! I’m new to the mindset of being a creator first. Interesting what happens when you make the shift and what you start noticing

A few thoughts: 1. Content creators who started with passion (like me) and attracted a large, organic audience (like me) aren't often allowed to change and grow. Your sub base will demand that you keep churning out new content that's STILL like the content you did years ago. There's no where space to grow. 2. Shadowbanning is a real thing. If this happens to your channel, good luck making money. 3. One solution to burn out might be to have different playlists for your different interests, so you don't burn out.
@RaylenDavis
@RaylenDavis 4 месяца назад
I never thought about number 1 but your solution seems to makes sense. Create a playlist while you still do your old content so you can bring in your new audience and make the shift. Smart thanks for this

@@RaylenDavis My pleasure. Having gone through this experience myself, I can tell you that it's tough. There are a ton of pitfalls that few RU-vidrs talk about - especially about the inconsistency of ad revenue - and so new content creators waste a lot of time figuring things out. THIS IS NOT A PITCH, but I am starting an affordable course for RU-vidrs this month. Hope this helps. And keep at it, just be smart about it because trust me it changes once you've grown your audience.

@@RaylenDavis I spent a lot of time, for several years, watching youtube videos from amateur about history and science, I did not learn much. If you pay for thegreatcourses videos you can watch formal university stuff and learn much more within a shorter time.

RU-vid inequalities grew out of control; as they tend to in any domain. Almost all the money is going towards click-bait con-artists. Try to be yourself and be honest with your viewers and you'll fade away. In a growth economy, you are forced to evolve their content; most of the time in a sell-out fashion. I only have a handful of channels I still watch. Any more, virtually every video that is recommended to me is a (click-bait video) that is just trying to get paid with your click. In all honest, it feels like the entire economy is going in this direction. Everything is a grind for some kind of cult; EVs, crypto, influencers, gig workers, etc. The cults keep the followers going, despite them becoming poorer and poorer. "I'm my own boss, even though I'm making less than minimum wage". Have we all become so complacent and empty that we feel the need to defend these internet ideologies at the expense of our finances and well being?

If RU-vid paid nothing for videos the intention behind making videos might be a little more life enriching. Maybe… cheers

You may be right on that. There has to be a way though to have both the money and the love. There’s some creators doing it some how. Just not for everyone I guess.

That wouldn't be fair as making videos take work, money to buy equipment , etc. And they would still make money from brand deals.
