I am in class 9th and literally this videos speaks all the facts ! Our Education System does not focus on learning but on "kya ye exam me aayega ?" This thing needs to change...the things we learn in previous class forget as soon as the exams are over. Focus on learning not for exams.

India needs it's gurukul system which was completely based on practical knowledge & in exam every students were given a practical based task to complete the exam. & this system was making a person mentally, physically, sociologically & spiritually a complete persona, that's why india was a golden bird 🐦. 🤗

Still out education system is all about marks and grades. Nobody talks about the skills. Would be great if we go after skills which will enable a student get a job or start a business. I have shared this in my circle. Well researched topic. Kudos to you both.

I'm a student currently studying in NIT Goa. Though our syllabus is yet to complete, we're "ready" to rush towards the exams and give it anyhow! I guess instead of conducting exams, there should be group or individual projects based on what we have learned so far…it can improve our critical thinking and our problem solving skills…and there is no need for “rattafication”…

As someone who strives to not become an engineer or doctor but instead a researcher, i really really agree with the video. Since the release, there has been some changes and the exam papers now of 12 standard science were really good. Sure there were aspects that were to be memorized, but there were also some things which were really commendable and interesting. I personally feel that things are changing when it comes to exams, but the mentality of teachers is still a major drawback. The paper might change but as long as the teachers dont emphasize on certain things, things will be slow paced, because teachers have the biggest impact over the course of a few years. The exam paper can give thought provoking questions, which might induce changes in the teachers teaching methods, but i sincerely hope the teaching methods change on par with the exam papers and things get better

If we can look into almost two decades of the syllabus from any Indian board we can easily conclude that there have been negligible changes in the syllabus. One thing that the Indian Education System lacks is market knowledge and functional aspect of literacy. In layman’s terms, we always know the definition of a certain process but never know how to do it. Functional literacy has been totally zoned out due to the extreme importance that our grades have. Along with this, our curriculum has zero basics of how the market functions and how the economy runs. The basic market education should be provided to students at least from the secondary level so that they have a wider understanding of the financial functioning of the world.

Ancient "Aashram" system based education was the best thing in Indian history! Nowadays our education never taught us to question ourself why I'm studying that particular thing, they never told us to find our purpose behind our actions & idea! They just give 1 or half, maybe 2 year to know about things, not to think it in dimensional perspective! "They never taught us how to dream instead always put in comparison!"- (someone greatest I knw)

Well, the root problem for this is in TEACHER .....it's the bad teachers who work for salary instead of education that ruins the system ....tbh, our system quite good enough to give education for diverse forms of people ....but teachers are not able to justify this....it's just my opinion, no offense

I am Ananya... I am presently studying in 10th standard of CBSE... I am yet to give my term 2 exam... I got 85% in term 1... My parents didn't scold me because they knew my hard work behind it... I struggled nights for it... But my neighbours keep comparing my marks with my friends who secured more than me... They pressure me more than my parents... This typical nature should be changed from the people of Indian society...

I still remember when I was in lower grade which leads the foundation of education I was frequently told by our teachers and tutors to just memorize everything and write it and give it to me for checking and what was written the meaning of that was none of their business. If I got 98% they and my parents were happy if I got below 90% that Sharma ji ka beta/beti lecture would begin. After coming to 8th standard I realized that the way I was learning was wrong that I focused more on practical knowledge than rott learning and since then expect the board exam I didn't even cared for my exam one bit. Even in boards I was quite happy with 88% because I wasn't just only focused on my syllabus but on knowledge and from wherever I got it I collected. 😌

Solutions 1. Make syllabus less 2. Change old Thinking just like our grandparents. 3. Add some more knowledgeable thing in our syllabus,scince 2011 all the chapters are same ...

I've been an introvert, so in my high school days I would just watch American shows and movies rather than hanging out with my friends, and so developed a slight American accent, but the English teacher thought I was mimicking them and cut my marks off in internal assessment, hail Indian education system 🙂🙂

Whatever we are learning in school, we are learning it because it will come in “exams” , that’s what teachers say. We are not learning things because it has values that we will require in our future. From the starting high marks are praised, this kills curiosity to learn things. Maybe that’s why studying is always “boring” to students. But we can change our perspective and how we view our current education system. Instead of focusing on marks, we should read our textbooks with an open mind and curiosity. We’ll be able to learn better that way.

I fully agree to the proposition of the video. However, I don't have any clue to address the following challenges 1. How to train and motivate lakhs of teachers on effective learning methods who have themselves been through the flawed system 2. How to evaluate impartially without Q&A based models. 3. How to upgrade thousands of schools and lakhs of teachers on creative learning methodology and equip them with required infrastructure. And so on.....

I Want to just describe mistakes I did and problems which I faced during my whole education.... 1. Language Barrier- I am from marathi medium and after 10 th got admission in top college in Pune ...I got admission in science.....and didnt understand a word because teacher taught this in English. Because of Language barrier percentage in 12 th decreased from 91 to 66😢 2. Gap in Graduation- In first year I was suffering from High fever and low BP that's why I can't continue my college and took break for 4 months it affects on studies and as a result I got Year Drop Because of this year drop I am not eligible for any company in MNC😢....no use of degree and knowledge....because of only one year 😢I wasted 17 years in my life😓....Degree is more important than knowledge... 3. Didn't enjoy school and College Life ... because I want to score high and wants to become Topper.... But it's ok.... विझलो जरी आज मी हा माझा अंत नाही पेटेन उद्या नव्याने हे सामर्थ्य नाशवंत नाही....

summary :- Exams are not the only way to judge boys and girls. Every student is not the same type of learner. each student can be one of 10 different types of learners. some students learn by experiencing things. some students learn by observing while some learn while listening to music. our present indian education system was created during the Industrial revolution by the British to produce Colonial slaves and labours who would work under the british and would do nothing but take orders. So, rise above the Education system. Learn more than what the education system lets you learn. Leave the "exam oriented mindset" and focus more on the "education and learning oriented mindset".

I totally agree with this video. I want to add one thing more, there should be skills development subject in the school or education system from 6std onwards, so that children can learn different skills like communication skills, computer skills, typing skills from the school itself as it will make them more reliable and confident because it a practical knowledge which actually needed after 10th Or 12th

1:14 sir you said that Newton's laws we can study outside class it is very very good idea but the main fault is that our teachers want to complete syllabus and they only focus on syllabus and rattamarification and they just give is formula and say only those application which are in books. Our education system will change, But I do disagree with you on the outdatedness of the syllabus. Some subjects like Science, Maths, History, Geography, Civics can afford to have outdated syllabus as fundamentally, their concepts don't change. But I do agree that on subjects like Computer Science, And other practical subjects, we need a more updated syllabus so that we don't fall behind.

OKAY Bloom's taxonomy is something I've observed in my BTech classroom at Anurag University. This board was in each and every classroom. I admit that I never gave it a second glance. Our college management thought it was the only board on display, but not the principle behind it. Every week, we had tests, and our instructors surprised us by giving us homework and forcing us to trot after them during breaks to correct it. Yes, after sabotaging generations' lives, the educational system screams for a CHANGE.

In class 12th my bio sir Mr.L.K Gupta who used to teach in our coaching used to say that in India we do not focus on "research" but we only focus on "Re-search". Things need to change 😕

The reason why we hate exams is because the process of learning is completely screwed up in India. In any school, the only appeal for studying is because that chapter will come in the exam. The teachers propagate this feelings, your friends talk about it, even your parents do. Ki bas padho isliye kyunki exam me ache number aa jaye. Other than this, there's no motivation. So while we study a concept, suppose asexual reproduction, we have no idea why we should study it other than because it's coming in the exam. And because the reason behind studying it isn't clear, it becomes a burden. Same for many concepts of SST, and chapters of eng, hindi. Gradually as the exams come near, the entire focus of the teachers, parents, students, shifts to important questions, pyqs, notes, just anything to get a high score in exam, even though we don't know why we should study what's in the syllabus, how does it affect our life, what's the practical application of our knowledge? Because these doubts never get answered, the thought becomes more and more rigid that "sab faaltu hai bas exams ke liye padh rahe hai." But that's wrong, I've slowly come to the realisation that everything we study is indeed practical, maths, history, chemistry, everything. Even if not directly applicable in everyday life, their knowledge does help us. It's just that in our present school system, it is taught in a way which excludes all the fun and practicality of learning. In our daily classes, after studying a chapter or two, we're never told how it'll help us in our life, in what situation we'll benefit by studying those concepts. Every math and science concept should accompanied by examples and situations where we can use that concept in real life, and every teacher should discuss this in detail. After every history chapter there should be a discussion on how all that knowledge helps us understand the present better. Just think, I'm in 10th right now, I've been studying about amoeba, paramecium, penicillium, since 7th or 8th, but I've never seen them. Can any school claim that all their students have seen amoeba reproducing in a microscope? No. It can't even claim that everyone has seen a microscope. We studied so many chemical reactions in chapter 1 of science in class 10. But never saw any of them being performed. That resulted in us thinking "fir itne saare equations exam ke liye ratne padenge" it felt like a burden because we were never explained why we should study these reactions, we never saw the magic of chemistry being performed live. That is the level of impracticality with which science is being taught in India. And as a student, I can say that if we get to actually see the reactions, get to know situations where you can use math formulas in real life, get to learn how history influences the present rather than just mugging up the answers, if real attention is payed to this by every teacher, we'll definitely be more interested in studying, definitely have more fun, the concepts would be instilled in our minds and giving an exam wouldn't be a burden because we'll know why we're studying, to understand this world better. I'm happy to say that a real step has been taken in this direction, which is the new case based questions introduced by cbse. If you read the paragraph and the question carefully, you will understand how concepts we study are linked to real life situations. Cases about a girl saving money every day, or a guy doing push-ups these tell us that formulas of AP can be used in reality. But we shouldn't have to wait till the exam to know the practicality of a topic, such examples should be discussed in classes of every subject. That would make learning so much better. Bangladesh is also same.People praise those who gets highest marks and thinks the student is genius and well mannered.On the other hand,who gets lowest marks,they are neglected everywhere by their own relatives.Also our education have lack of bloom's taxonomy.Our students also focus on marks rather than learning.Also our education doesn't have conceptual learning.Another is subject pressure.Students doesn't have freedom to choose subjects.Students have to learn 14 subjects and have to get good in all subjects. These are the problems of our education system. University level in very expensive and inadequate.I mean students can't get their subjects according to their needs.Students don't get skills for engineering.

I'm an English hons student. We are bound to complete 6 semesters. First 2 semesters = (8+8)= 16 books (novels, poems, etc.) Next 2 semesters = (12+12)= 24 books. Next 2 semesters = (16+16)= 32 books. 1 semester = 3-4 months. No interesting stuffs, no grammer, no writing skills. Consume age-old Q&As in breakfast, lunch, dinner. Plus Generic subject, Compulsory subject. I'm really annoyed. 😕😞

As It is said EDUCATION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS, but the question is what does this education stand for? Is it theory and concept or the practical and logical knowledge or both? The new meaning of education defined nowadays by students all over the country is Rote Learning, Marks and Rankings. 95% children in India study for marks rather than practical knowledge and the rest 5% most probably have never ever studied anything just because they are from the remote and unprivileged areas! Let's look up to the 95% students first- While walking on roads we can see thousands of plastic bag spread all over but none of us went and tried to clean the area though we are always taught cleanliness. What is the use of such a knowledge...such an education which cannot be implemented for a practical change? Theoretically whenever asked we always write such value-based answers but when it's the time to implement it practically...none of us even remember those value based moments! Is such an Education the key to success? Now moving on to the rest 5% - This part the ignored one...the deprived...the unprivileged one...but what made them such typed? What is the root cause for this situation of them? These are none other than the 95% part who are educated but not practically! Still there are slums where some of us would hate to go though we are taught to empower such people and acknowledge them of the resources! Still we can clearly observe corruption in every second scheme though we are taught about equalizied power sharing! So the change I want to make is to change People's mentality, teach the students practical and logical education rather than theoritical concepts. Teach the 95% that marks the not all what we are running after! It's the value-based answers that are to be implemented rather than to be just written on answer sheets! I don’t get why people are so much obsessed with IIT’s many students teachers and parents think if you didn’t get into IIT then you are a failure, you can’t achieve anything. There are only limited seats and that too a shit like reservations are implemented and which makes the seats even less. Just think it yourself getting into IIT is not the way to success, everyone has their own way to succeed, choose your way and passion and follow it!.

I'm in 9th class, jab bhi mein padhne baithti hoon tab mind mein sirf yeh chalta hai ki aagar exam mein kam mark aagye toh? Neet clear nhi hua toh? Everyone knows how Indian parents are! In 8 th class i was having anxiety attack,I was suffering through depression and overthinking, just bcz of this exam! Abhi toh CBSE mein 6 exams hote hai Unit 1, unit 2, SA1, Unit 3, unit 4 and then final :)

I have one more advice. I think difficulty of the exams need to be increased and priority should be given to critical thinking and analysing instead of remembering things (some things do need to be memorised though). Also invigilation should be made strict(I don't know to how much extent this is possible in our nation). In this way very less people will get more than 90%, and naturally the others will try improving marks, but that wouldn't be possible by just byhearting things like they did before, so they would be forced to solve new new problems which improves their critical thinking skills. Also then the marks we would get will have some value unlike today. The inspiration for this idea is drawn from various competitive exams like jee, gaokao, Olympiads etc...

Now, government has change education system because government have opened school of specialized excellence school's ,now students are not reading books,article,novels etc. Still students are understand,analyse, remeber communicat,collaborate,courage etc.

Make a video on what students can do now in this type of system... Just telling them that the system is not right will instead make them feel more worse.. that's what happened to me when I was in school... I felt trapped in a system that makes you feel worse and no one have the solution for it... Their simple answer is to just suffer the way they had suffered... It's not the child that needs to know this things let their parents know that there is a different way to learn things in this world and a different ways to have a successful life..not just doing well in exam and getting a job....

I'm 17 yrs old and currently studying in class 12th(pcm) Because of the huge burden of jee and boards I had to leave all of my hobbies and passion...i left sketching, playing football, Kabaddi, swimming, and many more...i had to sacrifice my social life and chilling,hanging out with friends....i want to become a software engineer which requires coding skills and maths..not physics and chemistry I don't have much interest in these subjects but still I have to learn them for clearing jee I want to learn more about coding, i also have interest in investing, trading and other related stuff but I'm not allowed to learn them because I'll get DISTRACTED BY THIS It feels like I've got trapped in this system and there is no way to get out of it I want to learn soo many new things but our education system doesn't allow me to do that Everytime when i try to learn something new and productive I have to resist myself from learning that because it would distract me from my studies Please suggest me what should I do

To be honest, due to my personal experience with enginnering . I don't want my children to study in India , I Don't mind if they leave this country and stay in foreign country. I just hate India's education system that much.

In subjects like Hindi CBSE nowadays asked value based questions Not comprehensive questions Why to make the chapter so hard then That we read some Urdu words in some chapters, why to give more chapters for less marks than writing section It's just like stress.

Bro I feel frustrated when someone asks about exams and results, but the reality is this I am studying so that I can somehow grow my mind and think in the worst condition and by virtue I which my talent can be used in the goodwill of country. Knowledge don't matter but how to apply it matters.
