nostalgia should NOT be a factor in deciding the best f1 game or anything

Well anything else would be a scandal. Imagine a fifa being worse than the year before, or a new phone being weaker than last year yet still costing the same. This little review is too positive imo and does not highlight the fact that this could've been a story dlc and roster update to f1 2020. Do not let them get away with lazy yearly full priced games

@@ChristofferLund There's tons of other features added such as the new damage model, co op career mode, better graphics especially in cutscenes and lots of smaller things to improve the gameplay experience. They'll also be adding the new tracks in a free dlc later on. Every sports game franchise does new games yearly and Codemasters do them better than most. If you don't like that then buy the game in alternative years or something.

And btw I meant as in Braking Point isn't so good you need to worry about spoilers, story is pretty basic so spoilers don't matter. exactly what i was thinking reading the title ... this is the same fkn game as 2018/19 and 20 with myteam. the only change is not being able to swap engine modes.

@@caleob9725 yeah, maybe it's because the last game that I played before 2021 was 2019. But the cars have been understeering badly and the tracks that i used to be great at (Bahrain as an example) are now tracks that I've been struggling with

I don’t know why, but I think that’s always been a thing at the Austria track. I kind of like it though, because you don’t really look at the sky while you’re driving, it’s kind of an Easter egg in plain sight.

As long as the next game doesn't break anything but instead adds and ot improves it'll fundamentally be the best overall F1 game, just cause it's a yearly and not too much of an improvement on last year doesn't make the fact it's the best F1 game ever false.

You just answered your own question there. It takes time to scan and model the tracks, plus travel restrictions make it more difficult than normal.

Whilst similtaneously being in the 2015 season for how out of date many tracks still are!

F1 2020 has more tracks than the new one including the short tracks on Bahrain, Japan etc and it actually came with all tracks at launch where as the new one has no new tracks at launch which is very disappointing . Also f12021 has removed the classic cars from the game which is a shame because there is less content for multiplayer because of it.

We’re not judging it on nostalgia purposes, this is purely the effort put behind the game and how well rounded of an experience it is!

How are you quantifying that when “it literally” has a huge story mode?

If you have F1 2020 there is literally no reason to get 2021

roller That is objectively not true, it depends mostly on what you want from the game. If you just want to drive some F1 cars around race tracks, 2020 is just fine, but 2021 has a lot of advantages, even outside of the story mode, additions to My Team and so on. The handling in 2021 has definitely been improved, the sound is absolutely incredible, the F2 cars especially sound amazing on the downshifts, much more realistic, the AI have taken another step forwards in realism, the kerbs are more slippery and three dimensional. My only real complaints are that there are no classic cars, I enjoyed those, and the fact the F1 2020 cars and F2 2019 cars are clearly in the game files, as they are used in Braking Point, but there is no option to use them in Grand Prix mode, but that’s not a huge issue. There will also be three new tracks coming soon, that were not in 2020, so that is also worth considering. I am curious though, what would they need to add to make it worth buying in your opinion?

@@McPlayer8t i agree that its an absolutely amazing game, but right now i cant pay 60$ for a video game, no matter how good it is. I know that its totally normal thing for other people, but for me video games aren't that high on my priority, especially as a teenager with no income atm. But obv aome other people do love it that much, people do buy it. Everyone and his life i guess.

@@avidcule sorta unless you have the next gen console or a pc then I would say 2021 is 100% worth it so much fun and the graphics definitely look better if your use to playing 2020 on like an Xbox one or even a series x since it wasn’t “series s/x enhanced” but other than better graphics a higher frame rate “on console” it’s not much different from 2020 just a slightly different handling model but it’s pretty easy to get use to it arguably it’s easier than the last game.

That’s fair, video games are basically my life, so it’s sometimes hard to see it any other way. What I meant is that roller was implying that 2021 is basically a copy paste of 2020, which is certainly not the case. It may have been true once, but now Codemasters add in significant new features every year. 2018 had a wide variety of classic cars, as well as the Sportsmanship/Showmanship system, which has evolved into the acclaim system, the key to better sponsors in My Team mode. 2019 introduced a short story, as well as the Formula 2 cars, and basic custom online cars. 2020 of course brought us My Team mode. and 2021 has improved on it as well as added Braking Point, co-op career mode, and the real life season mode thing whatever it’s called. I feel like each new game has enough uniqueness to identify itself now, if that makes sense.

Yep, got the game, refunded it after seeing that it's basically the same.

The handling is a lot different

Despite some of the new features and the red herring in the journey, in its current state the game is still primarily F1 2020 but with less content overall and missing features that are yet to be implemented.

Thrustmaster T150 for me even that one was really expensive but it's the cheapest steering wheel that can actually be called good. If you take your time and set it up with the game you gonna have fun.

That’s a fair point, I honestly would rather them take an extra few months and implement the new tracks from release, but I guess they want to release game as early as possible. There is still plenty of content to enjoy in the meantime, but I won’t be starting my drive a career until the new tracks are added.

I might just wait for 2022. The 3 tracks that are not in the game yet makes it feel unfinished.

@@McPlayer8t yes i know but this is different like its glitches that should not be there and when you compare to like f1 2020 and stuff they didnt have those glitches and its glitches that are regularely in the game like during interviews behind the question its just a pink background instead of the interviewer etc

You don't have "force feedback" on the R2 button on ps4. And the spinning is just a part of the new handling mechanism in the game. It's horrible i know but codemasters and EA wont do anything about it
